Laura was afraid that others would notice how flustered she was inside. Her heart raced so wildly that she could hear her heartbeat in her ears.

"You guys carry on. I need to go to the office to take care of some things," Curtis said.

He stood up and said to Margot, "You stay here and keep Natalie company. I'll pick you both up after work."

"Okay," Margot said, "go do what you need to do. Drive safely."

After Curtis left, Margot asked Natalie, "Where's Benjamin? Can we get him to come and keep Laura company? There's no one her age here. I'm worried she'll get bored."

"Benjamin hasn't gotten out of bed yet," Natalie replied. "Why don't you go upstairs and ask Benjamin to get up, Laura?"

Laura quickly shook her head and declined. "Kids need more sleep to grow. Let him sleep a bit longer. I'll just stay here with you all."

"Are you feeling shy? Your face is all red," Natalie commented with a smile.
