Evelyn.
There was an awkward silence in the car as Nolan drove me home. I tap my fingers on the chair in impatience, I couldn't wait to reach home and be about a thousand metres away from Nolan.
The jerk made me so agitated and angry earlier. When he lied about us having sex, I felt so devastated and my world felt like it had come to an end.
I was super relieved when he confessed it was a lie. Such an ass.
On the other hand, I was happy that he didn't do anything in my vulnerable state. He didn't take advantage of me, despite the silly acts I put up in my drunken state. I didn't expect to be safe in his hands.
Thank goodness he was a disciplined man.
I looked sideways to steal a glance at him and he also happened to face me at the same time. Our eyes met and Nolan's lips curled up into a cocky smile.
Okay, scratch that. It's Nolan fucking Walters and he's a douchebag.
I returned the smirk with a glare and looked away, staring at the road.
I silently sighed in relief as I saw the sillouhette of my mansion up ahead. As we reached the gate, he rolled down the windows and the security guard looked in.
He regarded me with a nod and the huge gate was opened, Nolan driving slowly into the compound. He slowly parked the car next to mine and before I knew it, Nolan leaned towards me.
I stared into his eyes, frozen in the seat and I swallowed nervously. Our faces were so close to each other and my eyes flickered to his lips.
He moved closer and just as I thought he was going to kiss me, he smirked and stretched his hands past me to open the door.
I cleared my throat and blinked before grabbing my bag and climbing out of the car.
I walked up the stairs that led to the front door and I heard the car's door open.
"Want me to come in?" Nolan asked and I turned around to face him with a smug smile on my face.
"Why not," I replied, "you might just not be able to leave intact." I sneered and turned around, walking quickly into the house.
As soon as the door closed, I sighed loudly and rested my back on the door. I heard Nolan drive away and I moved away from the door.
I dropped my bag on the couch and go to the kitchen, opening the fridge and grabbing a bottle of water.
I force the seal open and gulp down the entire content of the bottle. I felt my head clear slowly and I let out a relaxed smile.
I began to remember some bits of what happened the previous night.
Nuuu! Lemme gooo. I need to get naked. In fact, you should get naked with me too.
I shook my head as I remembered the embarrassing act, but I began to remember Nolan washing my hair in the bathroom and helping me in the shower.
I smiled unconsciously and felt the heat in my cheeks.
Evelyn Bennett, what are you doing?
I shook my head and squeezed my face in disgust. Why am I feeling like this? Gosh!
I threw the empty bottle in the waste bin by the corner and walked back to the sitting room. I reached for my bag and pulled out my phone.
I quickly sent a text to Jessica telling her I had made it home safe. I dropped the phone back and carried my bag, climbing up to my room.
I needed to take a bath and get out of these clothes.

I checked to make sure my hair was neatly packed one last time in the mirror, before grabbing my bag on the bed and walking out of my room. I closed the door and climbed down, reaching into my bag to get my car keys.
I checked the wristwatch on my left wrist and noted the time. I still had one hour before Robbie's exhibition started so I'll have enough time to be with Robbie.
Robbie has been my friend for long and he's a popular art sculptor in NYC. Secretly, I have a big crush on him, but he's either ignoring it or being too dumb to notice it.
I get into my car and start the engine.
I soon get to the venue of the art exhibition and I climb down from the car. I glanced at the guards at the door to the exhibit hall and I muttered a curse beneath my breath as I remember I forgot my pass at home.
I put on a confident smile and pushed aside a strand of my hair as I walked towards the door. Lucky for me, I didn't have to execute the perfectly detailed act in my mind as the door opened and Robbie stepped out.
He smiled as he saw me and I felt heat rise up to my cheeks as he looked at me appreciatively.
"Eve, I didn't know you'd be able to come." Robbie smiled.
"Oh Robbie, I wouldn't miss it for the world," I walked closer to him and we exchanged air kisses.
"Come in," Robbie said and I walked in, flinging my hair backward.
There were sculptures elegantly displayed in the hall and Robbie smiled at all of them, looking as if they were his babies.
"They're so elegant Robbie," I said with a cute smile and his eyes shone as he took one more glance at the sculptures.
"Yes, I put so much effort into this babies," he replied, moving his hands and fingers much more than a man should.
"They're just as elegant as you are," I said, batting my eyelashes flirtatiously.
"Oh, so poetic," a familiar voice said behind me and I looked over my shoulder to see those familiar build.
'Nolan." I said, but muttered a curse beneath my breath.
Why is this man always popping up these days.
"Nolan!" Robbie said in excitement and walked towards Nolan.
He hugged him and then glanced at me, "oh, do you two know each other?" Robbie asked, looking at the both of us.
I was about to respond when Nolan cut in, "Evelyn Bennett. Who wouldn't know her." Nolan smiled with sarcasm in his tone.
I flashed him a fake smile, but Robbie of course was just too naive to notice it.
"Evelyn, Nolan is one of my top customers and a generous one," Robbie introduced Nolan with a smile and I nodded with a hum, "-and Evelyn has been a long time friend."
"Evelyn, I thought you were just a pretty face, I didn't know you had a taste for art," Nolan laughs with sarcasm in his voice and Robbie joins in his laughing.
"Oh, you're so funny," Robbie said and glanced in the direction of the door as someone walked in.
"Excuse me," he said and walked away leaving me and Nolan.
"Oh, won't you look at that?" Nolan sounded surprised and I looked at him, wondering what he was talking about.
He pointed at a woman passing by us and I looked at her.
"Those butts, reminds me of yours," He said and I almost choked on my saliva.
What the hell?
"You pervert!" I pointed my fingers defiantly at Nolan, "you're so disgusting!"
I stared at Nolan in disbelief as he laughed, "I must say, it was tempting to hit that, but darling, I'd rather not involve myself with the like of you."
What? Such guts!
"I have better options." He added and I was about to give him a piece of my mind when I saw Robbie approaching.
"You two look like you're enjoying yourselves," Robbie said smiling and I returned the smile.
I faced Nolan who was standing behind Robbie and gestured with a nod for him to leave, so I could be alone with Robbie.
He smirked as he realized the message I was passing.
"Hey Robbie, look at that young lady over there," Nolan pointed in the direction of a lady standing alone by a sculpture and Robbie glanced at her.
"She's such a beauty and it looks like she's lonely," Nolan smiled and Robbie smiled in return, getting the message.
I scoffed as I watched Robbie excuse himself and walk towards her. There goes my chance to be with Robbie this evening.
I faced Nolan and shot him furious glares. He did that on purpose.
"I forgot to thank you for taking care of me last night," I smiled smugly and Nolan looked surprised.
"Really?"
"Of course not, you can kiss my ass." I rolled my eyes at him and walked away angrily.
NOLANI didn't have anything against art sculptures or even how ridiculously expensive they were. Even as a little kid, I had attended many art sculptures sales events with my Dad and I had always found them quite boring. Just people spending loads of money on ancient-looking artworks.I would rather spend my money on sports cars. The auction began and for reasons I will never understand, a lot of the people present were so excited. They just couldn't wait to spend a chunk of their money on some artwork that will be hung on the walls in their home. And then they will get bored of it when something else catches their attention.Eve liked Robbie and not just as a friend. I noticed it the very moment I saw both of them together. The funny thing was Robbie was clueless, he probably would never know unless she tells him directly. Before the first sale b
EVELYNI walked away with the painting feeling triumphant. It always felt great when I won something against Nolan Walters. That cocky bastard can kiss my beautiful ass.I looked at the painting and scoffed. What did he mean this painting would remind me of him? Just because he wanted his grubby hands all over it? God, he is so damn self-centered.I put the painting down and headed to my car. My parents were expecting me for lunch, and I didn't want to be late. I still couldn't believe my father when he said Nolan and I were childhood friends. That's impossible. I must've been an idiot to associate with the likes of him."Evelyn, darling! I am glad you could make it. I made your favorite, Meatloaf," mom gushed as soon as I walked in."Mom, for the last time. It's Alisha's favorite meal. Not mine," I said irritably. Mom always put Alisha first because sh
Nolan. I picked up my jacket and my briefcase as my driver pulled over in the garage. "Take those art pieces in the boot inside, make sure nothing happens to them," I instructed the driver and opened the door. "I'll have them arranged later." I climbed down from the car and handed my briefcase to my Valet.....Henry. I finally remembered his name. My right hand found it's way to my neck and I sighed as I loosened my tie. I walked into the building and sighed loudly this time as I threw myself on a couch. I glanced at the stairs as the housekeeper, Mrs. Ellison climbed down, holding a vacuum cleaner. "Mrs. Ellison, have you seen Nathaniel," I asked as he hadn't showed up since I got back. "I think he's out at the back," she replied and I nodded. "Okay, can you please tell the cook to make me some tea," I stated as she walked in the direction of the Kitchen. I was so tired. EVELYN Oh, for Christ's sake. Why do I have to deal with this guy tonight? Tonight was supposed to be the night I got to woo Robbie so I would have a date by Christmas. Then, I could finally bring a guy home so my mom would stop nagging at me about not having a date. "Are you stalking me?" I snapped at Nolan, who had the audacity to laugh at my annoyance. "Don't flatter yourself, darling," he said. "Don't darling me, dingbat. Why are you here?" I asked. "Last time I checked, a restaurant is a public establishment. And important people such as myself are more than welcome around here." Nolan grinned. "Important? HAH!" I laughed mockingly. "Laugh at me if you must, Eve. But ask the owner. I am their top customer. What are you doing here?" Nolan asked. "None of your business," I sat back and sulked. He was about to ruin my date, I knew it. "Now, could you please go away? I am expecting my date to show up any moment now." To my utter shock, Nolan didn't make an effort to leave. I
EVELYNNolan somehow convinced us to go along with his plan. I blame Robbie for that. But when I arrived at the place he suggested, I almost wanted to turn around and drive away.Of course that bastard picked this dump, I thought as I stared at the giant fluorescent sign that said, KARAOKE BAR in red. Inside was a large room that was dimly lit. Several disco lights were hanging from the ceiling. There was a DJ who had a table set up in the corner. I guess he was in charge of the music. I saw a couple singing duets. None of them were good singers, but they didn't seem to care, and neither did everyone else all around us. Most of the people were most likely too drunk to care.I waited until we got a booth in the corner. Robbie excused himself to go to the restroom."What are we doing here? We are not some drunk college kids," I barked, so Nolan knew I was not happy with this."Ms. Bennett! I am shocked! I thought you were the kind of woman who liked to have fun, but I guess I was wrong.
NOLAN It was a little hard to pull away from her since she held onto my shoulder as we kissed. With the way we stood, any onlooker would think Evelyn was the one who initiated the kiss. For some reason I couldn't explain, Robbie asking Eve out in my presence had pissed the fuck out of me. Because of that, I decided to act like a bad boy to her only to see how she would react. When I kissed Evelyn, my mind went mostly blank, and all I could think of was her. I could feel her breath on my face as our tongues fought for dominance. Amidst everything, what surprised me the most was that Evelyn kissed me back. The funniest thing was that I hadn't actually planned on kissing Evelyn today. Or anytime in the future. My hands left her waist and went a little lower. Well, not for long, because Evelyn pushed me away and turned her face away from me. “I can't breathe,” Eve said, drying her lips with the back of her palm.It felt wrong that the kiss didn't last long. EVELYNNolan.I could still taste him in my mouth. The kiss was surprisingly pleasant and I am angry at myself for not hating it fully. Why did I kiss him back? I should've kicked him to the curbs and let him taste my wrath but instead, I let him claim my mouth. Maybe I was more drunk than I thought I was. Oh well, I should just forget about it. One week later, my family arranged a picnic like they do every year around this time. Most of the time, it's at the lake where they bought a beach house. It wasn't anything formal. Just me, my parents and some close family members. Which means Jessica would be there and I'd have the chance to interrogate her about Nolan. What the fuck was she thinking hanging out with that douche?Whatever, there was no point in regretting things now. In the morning, I put on my bathing suit under my summer dress and headed to the lake."Evelyn! Sweetheart. Glad you are here. You can help me with the set up," my chirped as I walked toward the picnic table.
NOLANEvelyn didn't move as I had my hand on her shoulder, my thumb lightly stroking her collarbone. Her eyes were fixated on mine. They were missing their usual coolness. Was she warming up to me?I sure hope so.I had planned only to tease her. Pretend to kiss her, then move away, leaving her hungry for more. Then I walk away like a champion, so she felt like a fool. But in the end, I lost control of myself. She flinched but didn't push me away when our lips fused. When my tongue met hers, she moaned against my mouth, then pressed her hips against mine. She made noise as if to complain but kept kissing me. She jerked a little when I placed my hand between her thighs but didn't try to stop me. She was being good, letting me do what I wanted."Mm...Nolan," she mumbled against my lips and looked at me half-lidded.My lips traveled to her shoulders, then to her collarbone. I pushed the straps of her dress halfway down, which seemed to break her out of her trance. "St...stop!" Evelyn cri
EVELYNI felt a shiver run through my spine as Nolan placed his hand on my shoulder, and stroking my collarbone only made it worse. I stared into his bright blue orbs feeling unable to move. What are you doing Evelyn? You should be kicking his ass for touching you right now. I felt trapped in the spot I was and my eyes flickered to his lips as he moved closer to me. I gulped nervously and before I could blink, he pressed his lips against mine. I tried not to show that it affected me, but I ended up moaning and I moved my hips against his. It wasn't sloppy or overly wet, it was unexpectedly pleasant and I felt a tugging of desire in my lower belly. What am I doing Eve?! I need to stop this. I wanted to protest but ended up giving in again. I didn't expect it when Nolan placed his hand between my thighs, causing me to moan. I have to stop this. "Mm...Nolan," I mumbled as his lips traveled to my shoulders and he began to push down the straps of my dress. "Evelyn, Evelyn?"I blinked,
