Episode 3 - Contract Marriage

"W-what is this?"

I exclaimed, holding a letter in my hand. Cassian had given me a marriage contract document with various requirements written on it.

What infuriated me was a section that read as follows:

[Seraphine Valentina has been bought by Cassian Maximilian as his mate partner. Seraphine must dedicate her body and powers for the benefit of the Alpha colony with golden eyes.]

What a stupid agreement!

"Set aside your illogical reasons for wanting me as your mate partner," I began to protest to the man in front of me. "But why do you need my powers? What do you want me to do?"

Cassian adjusted his seat. "I want you to find out who spread the virus in my village."

I started to feel uneasy about this conversation. "And what if I refuse?"

"Why would you refuse?" Cassian replied, turning the question back to me. And I mumbled, searching for reasons.

"Well, you know. My powers can't be used frequently because it creates paradoxes. And I don't even know how far I can see into the future. What if we end up altering crucial historical events? Wouldn't that be detrimental?"

Cassian laughed at my statement, which I didn't find funny at all.

"Hey. Have you forgotten your place? You are a slave here," Cassian responded sarcastically. "I bought your body at a high price. In other words, your powers belong to me."

I fell silent at Cassian's arrogant attitude. Unbeknownst to him, I had been using my powers to read his thoughts since earlier.

I wanted to know his future reaction if I continued to refuse his request.

[If Seraphine refuses, I will kill her family.]

[Seraphine's biological parents are in my village. I can ensure he won't dare to do anything if he knows his parents are in my grasp.]

[And if she still refuses, I will hypnotize her. I will use her powers without her realizing it.]

‘Damn it. Cassian had planned this from the beginning. Has he known for a long time that I am Luna's descendant? It seems he has been targeting me for a while.’ I thought to myself.

After reading Cassian's thoughts, I realized I couldn't do much. With my powers, I knew Cassian was not lying about the existence of my still-living parents.

For now, it seemed I had to reluctantly agree to this contract agreement. At least until I could meet my biological parents.

"Fine. Let's proceed with this contract marriage," I finally said after much contemplation. "However, this marriage will end once your village is free from the disease. You only need my powers to find the culprit behind the deadly virus, right?"

Cassian nodded with a smile. "Deal. Now, sign the document with your blood."

He asked me to drop my blood onto the paper. It was an ancient technique used by werewolves in the past to create a true agreement, ensuring that no one would dare to violate it.

When my blood soaked into the surface of the paper, it meant that I couldn't die until the agreement ended.

That meant my life and the lives of my family depended on this marriage agreement.

‘Damn it. I never expected that I would become Cassian's mate partner. The Alpha male I despise the most in this world.’

"You need to change your clothes. Come here quickly. I'll help you put on this fur cloak."

We were still in Cassian's private room when he asked me to take off my tattered clothes and change into new ones.

I was too lazy to ask him directly, so I used my powers to look into his mind and find out what Cassian would do to me next.

[Seraphine has to go to the village to use her powers.]

[If she refuses, I will threaten her.]

[Tonight, I will ask her to have sex. My mating season is approaching.]

Hey! No wonder he was so kind to me, even helping me put on clothes. There was a hidden reason behind his behavior.

He wanted to spend his mating season night with me! Damn it!

Doesn't he know? Having sex on the mating season night with a Luna Omega is the same as trying to get me pregnant as soon as possible.

‘No. I can't let this happen. I have to escape tonight, no matter what. I don't want to be pregnant with this psychopathic Alpha's child,’ I said to myself.

"Cassian, let me see the condition of your village. Maybe I can find some clues there," I hastily said. I deliberately distanced myself so that Cassian's hands wouldn't touch me for too long.

At least, I had to quickly get away from Cassian until the next full moon night. I didn't want to wake up the next day to find out I was pregnant.

"Really? Do you need me to accompany you?" Cassian kept approaching me.

Even though I was moving away, he still tried to wrap his arm around my waist.

"No need," I replied curtly, a hint of sarcasm in my tone. "I can handle it myself. You're busy, aren't you? Let's focus on our respective tasks from now on. So that I can quickly find out who is behind the virus spread."

"Hmm, okay," Cassian didn't seem pleased with my attitude.

He surely wanted to touch me, have his hands on me, now that I agreed to become his mate partner, right?

Unfortunately, my excuse was strong enough that Cassian couldn't find a reason to refuse. Finally, with a reluctant expression, Cassian agreed to our separation that afternoon.

He returned to his workspace and his duties as the leader of the Alpha colony with golden eyes. Meanwhile, accompanied by an aide, I went to the village where the deadly virus had spread.

However, while I was there, I stumbled upon an event that changed my life at that moment.

"Since when did this virus spread?" As soon as I arrived in the village, I spoke to the uninfected residents there.

They said the virus had started one month ago and had already killed hundreds of people.

But strangely, no one knew how to treat this virus. I observed that those infected with the virus would die instantly without any possibility of treatment.

"You must leave this place immediately if you don't want to get infected. It seems that this virus attacks human blood," I said to the village.

The fact that as a half-god, I wasn't affected by the virus. And that made me think the person spreading this virus must deliberately want to reduce the human population.

"Miss Seraphine, there is a man is looking for you."

The aide who accompanied me to the village suddenly called out to give me surprising news. It turned out that while I was here, an Alpha had been secretly following me from behind.

I wanted to use my powers to see who that Alpha was. But today, I had already drained too much of my energy. If I forced myself to use that power any longer, I was afraid I would faint.

"Who is he? Didn't Cassian forbid any Alpha from meeting me?" I asked the aide.

He stood there, his eyes gleaming with malevolence, a cruel reminder of the pain he had inflicted upon us. The scars of his past atrocities marred his features, a testament to the darkness that resided within his soul. "Dorian," I hissed his name, my voice laced with a lethal combination of anger and sorrow. "You think you can destroy us, manipulate time to suit your sinister desires? You've taken Cassian from me twice, but I won't let you succeed again." His laughter echoed through the chaos of battle, a chilling sound that sent shivers down my spine. "Oh, Seraphine, you're as predictable as ever. Your love for Cassian blinds you to the true power I wield. I've seen the depths of your despair, tasted the bitterness of your failures. You're nothing but a pawn in this grand design." The mere mention of my failures fueled the fire within me. Determination replac

[POV Seraphine] Battle had left me drained, my energy reserves depleted, and my magic waning. I stood amidst the aftermath of the fierce conflict, my chest heaving with exhaustion. Together, we had managed to overcome the sorceress's malevolent power, but the cost had been high. I gazed at the sorceress, now defeated and powerless. However, the victory did little to alleviate the exhaustion that weighed on my shoulders. The relentless battles, the emotional turmoil, and the imm
