[Seraphine's POV]

"The ritual that sacrificed me, I want to know if it has managed to save you."

In my uncomfortable sitting position beside him, on this cold bed, my mouth remained tightly shut.

Cassian sat beside me, but my eyes kept wanting to roll to the left, as if avoiding his gaze. The presence of Doctor Tiffany in front of us didn't provide any help.

The omega doctor's duty was done. What remained was for me to fulfill my promise to Cassian. To reveal all the secrets I had hidden. Including the secrets of the Maximilian family that I had known all along.

"You saved me, Cassian," I reluctantly uttered what I didn't want to say.

"Thank you. If it weren't for you, perhaps both me and this baby would have died," I continued.

Then I heard Cassian exhale deeply, as if he had been relieved of his fatigue.

"I'm grateful. I'm so relieved to hear that," he said. Then he turned his attention to Tiffany, who was in front of us.

"Tiffany, you haven't explained the condition of the baby in

[Seraphine's POV]"What makes you think I'm pregnant because of you?"Cassian fell silent. Undoubtedly, his mind was swirling with many thoughts. He stared at me with locked eyes, his gaze piercing and unbelieving."You're not pregnant with my child?" he finally spoke, after what felt like an eternity of piercing stares."Who? Who is the insolent Alpha that dared to touch you? Tell me. Who is he?"'Wow. I didn't expect his reaction to be like this.' I thought, slightly surprised by his response."You don't need to know," I cleared my throat, speaking as calmly as possible in front of him."Seraphine."I was taken aback. Since when did Cassian address me with such coldness? He was no longer looking at me, but standing in front of me.With his strong hands, Cassian pulled me forward, almost causing me to stumble. My swollen belly collided with his firm body.Cassian made me raise my face. And when our gazes met, all I saw was his anger directed sharply at me."Wasn't our agreement as Al

[Seraphine's POV]"To prevent something like this from happening again, as a doctor, I advise you to start managing your stress from now on. Because if not, the pain that might occur later could be worse than this."Her words squeezed something within me. I bit my lip as a form of deep surprise and shock. Slowly, I began to hear the sound of the room's door being opened from the outside.Cassian, he seemed to realize that our examination had reached its conclusion. Tiffany stepped forward to face him. They conversed, while I still lay on this bed.I really wanted to escape from this place and not talk to Cassian again. I was sure that after he asked Tiffany many questions, it would be my turn to be scolded thoroughly by him."Seraphine."My pronunciation was correct, right? Tiffany was still around us, and she immediately called my name. As if I were a royal prisoner awaiting execution."How's your condition?"I heard her asking. Her cold body temperature felt like it was sticking to

[Seraphine's POV]"C-Cassian! L-let me talk!"I pushed Cassian's body with my feet, trying to make him release my face.A bit rough, indeed. But my two hands alone couldn't surpass his strength. And I'm still weak here, there's no way I can defeat an Alpha like Cassian."Fine! I admit it! This is your baby, okay? Are you satisfied now?" Finally, I uttered a word and a sentence that became my last resort, which I actually didn't want to say to Cassian.Because I knew, my answer would bring happiness to him.And for some reason, I really didn't like that."Is that true, Seraphine?" Cassian's expression changed instantly. Like fire being extinguished by the coldness of water, rather than forcing it to go out by blowing a powerful wind.My words seemed to have become food for a wild beast within Cassian named: happiness. My words perfectly nurtured a sense of joy within Cassian. To the point where the face that was once filled with anger now had a wide smile in front of me."Ugh." And her

[Seraphine's POV]"Cassian. Let me emphasize one thing to you. This baby has no connection whatsoever to you or our agreement. Once my task is complete, you must fulfill your promise to let me meet my parents. After that, the baby and I will leave.""What?" Cassian sounded so surprised by what I had just said.I decided to close my eyes and ears, ignoring anything Cassian was throwing at me.I chose to tell him as early as possible, to avoid conflicts later on. I wanted him to understand my reluctance to share with this baby.'This is my baby. And I got it by accident. Cassian and his family certainly have no right to claim it,' I thought to myself.I moved closer to him so that he could reflect on my fiery irises. There, I made sure Cassian could feel the seriousness of my words right now through my gaze. He would be foolish not to understand what I meant by this.I lowered my voice in front of him, making sure Cassian paid even more attention to me than before."Indeed, Cassian. Thi

[Seraphine's POV]"Seraphine!"Damn it. Cassian has started to match my pace even though I've put all my strength into running as fast as I can.I mean, what can a pregnant omega do to defeat the power of an Alpha noble like Cassian? It's clear that I'll be overwhelmed.I hear the alpha's footsteps getting closer to my ears. I can't even turn my head to look at him. My problem lies more in the fact that my footsteps are slowing down. And in the midst of my run, I think about what I should do if Cassian manages to catch me? I'm tired of arguing with him.And right now, all I want is to focus on finding traces of the virus spreader.'Wait a minute.'My steps abruptly halt, coinciding with something I had forgotten after the recent series of terrifying events.'How could I forget about Silvebrook Haven village and my own village? [Seraphine's POV]"I had a feeling. You're not an ordinary Omega, Miss."Jesse's statement once again didn't fit the list of suspicions I had anticipated. He remained calm, no traces of doubt or disappointment in his eyes as he silently gazed at my face. Unlike me, I seemed uncomfortable with our standing position being so close. Not to mention, I had already been caught in the act here. But wait. It's not impossible that Jesse had known my secret all along but chose to remain silent. True, isn't it?It's plausible that Jesse possesses some sort of power that can detect magical energy around him. If that's the case, he shouldn't have been overly anxious when he saw me fighting against Riana that time.Because I am the last Omega who is a descendant of Luna."Miss Seraphine, come. I'll escort you to wherever you want to go.""What?" I looked up in surprise after receiving his second response."Go? Where? Wait, Jesse. [Seraphine's POV]"It's, it's like that ..."I scratched my head in disbelief at Jesse's statement, as if it had emerged from this fantastical world.I had never known an Alpha who dedicated their life to the kingdom to hold such contradictory dual ideologies."So, are you saying you're on my side now?" I asked him.Jesse nodded in response."Didn't you want to know what I did after escaping from Maximilian's palace?" I asked again. Jesse could have changed his mind after hearing my true intentions, right? No one knows."You're free to do whatever you want, Miss. I'm here only to accompany you, at least until you give birth. An Alpha should be able to protect a pregnant Omega, even if it's not their child."It felt like being showered with a cool, refreshing breeze of morning dew. Such a rare sensation. I never had the right to dream or hope for an Alpha whose demeanor is as kind as Jesse's.‘Whoever becomes his fated mate, that Omega will surely be happy,’ I thought. In reality, I ha

Observing something that felt familiar, like the first time Jesse had just met me.‘Is it just my feeling, or does Jesse seem to be reverting to his original self?’ I thought, suddenly feeling anxious.‘Oh, it can't be. He couldn't possibly find it strange when I asked to return to Silverbrook Haven village, right? It's a village so close to the Cassian Kingdom. It shouldn't be an issue for him.’Although I thought so, discomfort about Jesse's response, which seemed so odd to me, lingered in my mind.Throughout our journey, all I could do was dwell on negative thoughts. With a swift gesture, he unleashed a powerful surge of icy energy toward Dorian Phoenix, freezing the very air around him."Impossible!" Dorian cried out in shock, his movements slowed by the encroaching ice. "How dare you interfere with my plans!""Now, Miss Seraphine!" Jesse shouted, his voice cutting through the icy wind. He stood there, his eyes gleaming with malevolence, a cruel reminder of the pain he had inflicted upon us. The scars of his past atrocities marred his features, a testament to the darkness that resided within his soul. "Dorian," I hissed his name, my voice laced with a lethal combination of anger and sorrow. "You think you can destroy us, manipulate time to suit your sinister desires? You've taken Cassian from me twice, but I won't let you succeed again." His laughter echoed through the chaos of battle, a chilling sound that sent shivers down my spine. "Oh, Seraphine, you're as predictable as ever. Your love for Cassian blinds you to the true power I wield. I've seen the depths of your despair, tasted the bitterness of your failures. Cassian, the epitome of strength and resilience, was now in a dire state. His once vibrant aura was dimmed, surrounded by an ominous darkness that seemed to seep into his very essence. [POV Seraphine] Battle had left me drained, my energy reserves depleted, and my magic waning. I stood amidst the aftermath of the fierce conflict, my chest heaving with exhaustion. The tendrils of my spatial and temporal magic slowly dissipated into the night, leaving me feeling vulnerable and exposed. Jesse, too, looked weary, but his presence remained a comforting anchor amidst the chaos. I couldn't help but feel a profound sense of gratitude for his timely intervention and unwavering support. Together, we had managed to overcome the sorceress's malevolent power, but the cost had been high. I gazed at the sorceress, now defeated and powerless. Her once formidable demeanor had crumbled, and she lay on the ground, breathing heavily, but devoid of the dark energy that had fueled her. The threat she posed had finally been extinguished. However, the victory did little to alleviate the exhaustion that weighed on my shoulders. The relentless battles, the emotional turmoil, and the imm

[POV Seraphine] A sense of reluctant acceptance settled within me as I acknowledged Jesse's presence and the need for an unexpected alliance. We stood together, united by the urgency of our mission. "Alright, Jesse," I said, my voice firm. "Let's work together. But we need a plan, something that can help us defeat the sorceress quickly before she can cause more harm." Jesse nodded in agreement, his eyes sharp with focus. "I have a suggestion," he began, his tone steady. "The sorceress draws her power from darkness and chaos. If we can disrupt her connection to that source, we might weaken her enough to strike a decisive blow." I considered his words, the logic in his strategy apparent. "But how do we disrupt her connection to darkness?" I asked, my mind racing to find a solution. Jesse's lips curved into a thoughtful smile. "I've encountered similar situations in the past. There's a ritual, a powerful one, that can sever a sorcerer's link to their source of power. It requires pre

Both the sorceress and I stiffened, our eyes widening in shared astonishment. A powerful aura emanated from the figure approaching, an aura tinged with an ancient, primal energy. "Who ... who are you?" I managed to choke out, my voice barely audible. The words hung heavy in the charged atmosphere, but the mysterious alpha remained silent, their identity shrouded in an enigmatic silence. The sorceress, too, seemed taken aback, her eyes narrowing with suspicion. "Another interruption?" she sneered, her confidence momentarily shaken. "Do you think a mere alpha can change the course of this battle?" The mysterious alpha's silence was deafening. Their presence alone seemed to shift the very essence of the forest around us, commanding attention and respect without uttering a single word.
