Grace's Point Of View:
Grace waited at the table as she ordered another glass of wine. She had already finished all the free breadsticks the restaurant had put on the table. She called Eden many times but she didn't pick up and didn't reply to any of her texts. She had started to get worried when her phone buzzed, she picked it up to see a text from Eden which said: 'Forgot about assignment deadline, need to finish tonight. See you later.'
Her text sounded weird to Grace. There was not a single text in their chat history where Eden hadn't used at least one shortcut word.
Maybe the studying and hard work finally caught up to her. There's no telling with this girl, Grace th
"I just ordered a $5 fish and chips and you're probably eating a $100 meal, no way I'm paying for you," said Theo jokingly."Hey!" Grace exclaimed as she smacked his arm. "It's actually just $89, okay?""Fine, fine," Theo laughed. Soon his food arrived and they ate and laughed for a long time until it was time to go back. The restaurant was about to close already, with just a couple of tables occupied, but neither Theo nor Grace wanted to go back. They knew it was too soon to go to each other's home already, and they were fighting the impulse to kiss and get somewhere private. Grace looked around the restaurant awkwardly and said, "It's getting empty, haha.""Yeah, it is," said Theo. He was unfazed by it all. He kept looking at Grace lovingly and smiled when he caught her eye. Grace couldn't handle the tension anymore, so she got up and decided to make it known to him that it was time to leave. Theo got up with her and walked out together. "Well, I'll get a cab now, you should leav
Eden's point of view:Eden sat in her bed and shivered, unable to sleep the entire night. The sun had started coming up and the room started brightening up through the skylight. She couldn't stop staring at the blood on the wall. The man had carried away Aliana's body, but her blood still painted a huge chunk of the wall. The scene kept repeating over and over in her head, how Carter had not even thought for a second to kill the woman. Several drops of blood had flew over and hit Eden's face too.Aliana had only tried to help her escape. She was a good woman and she was paid with nothing but death, right in front of Eden's eyes. After Carter had killed her, he had sat on Eden's bed and said to her, "Don't be scared, princess. I'll never hurt you like that." He tucked a strand of hair behind Eden's ear. She knew the gun wasn't on safety, he had just used it to kill someone. But she didn't care about herself, she just kept staring at the mad drage the dead body across the floor and out
Eden felt someone shake her shoulders forcefully, and she broke out of thoughts to see Bennett looking at her with concern. "Eden, say something. Are you okay?"Eden looked at him confusedly and said, "Huh?" She looked around and saw that there was no one around except her and Bennett. She took a deep sigh of relief and got up. Bennett supported her as they walked over to the bathroom. He gently stripped Eden out of all her clothes and helped her get into the bath. He got on his knees and sat outside the bathtub as he scrubbed Eden's bare back. He pulled the fauced closer to her head and washed her hair and then cleaned her face. Water diluted with blood dripped from her chin in the bath water. Eden kept staring at it and was reminded that it was Aliana's blood. Tears started flowing from her eyes."He killed her," Eden whispered. Bennett stopped scrubbing her and leaned in closer, and asked "What?""He killed Aliana, the housekeeper," said Eden, a bit louder. "She was trying to hel
Eden's eyes fluttered open and she saw Bennett's beautiful face sleeping next to her. For a moment she didn't even recall anything happening with Carter. She felt like it was the time when they had come back from Italy. They were so in love and nothing could separate them. Memories started flooding in and her face fell.Eden tried to adjust her position without waking Bennett up, but he quickly woke up and started looking at Eden up and down to see if she was okay. She felt bad for waking him up, but what felt worse was the fact that she brought him yet another problem."Hey sleepyhead, how are you feeling," Bennett asked as he helped Eden sit up and smiled at her.Eden smiled back but it was forceful. "I'm okay," she answered. Bennett looked at her, not sa
A housemaid walked inside with a tray full of food. It had grilled cheese sandwiches, fruits, mill shakes, Risotto and some tomato soup. Bennett fed Eden with his own hands, as she was feeling too weak to eat on her own. She wasn't even feeling hungry but when Bennett put a spoonful of Risotto in her mouth, she realised she was too hungry. After eating until she was full, Bennett wiped her mouth with some tissue and said to her, "Now I know that everything that happened must have been very hard for you, but there's just one thing you need to push through."Eden looked at him with a puzzled look."You'll have to testify against Carter. No lawyer can save him from the fact that he murdered an unarmed lady, all you need to do is tell them what happened, and that wil
Eden and Bennett lay in the bed side by side, panting heavily as they stared at the ceiling. It was the first time in three months since either of them got sexually involved with another person. Eden looked at Bennett, he had his eyes closed, droplets of sweat on his face and his lips were slightly parted as he breathed heavily, his chest rising up and down as he did.As if sensing that Eden was looking at her, Bennett opened his eyes and gave her a, in that moment what Eden thought was, the most charming smile she had ever seen. Her heart almost skipped a beat looking at his perfect features. The only man she had ever truly loved was smiling down at her. She smiled back at him and placed a soft kiss on his lips."You're so beautiful," said Bennett, sending butterflies in Eden's stomach. Eden kissed him again and lay on his che
"I'm the reason she died. Aliana. I killed her," Eden said. She couldn't stop thinking about her blood all over the wall and her face.Bennett pulled her closer and said, "No. It's not your fault, please never say that again. None of it is your fault. It's a shame that a woman that kind had to die, but she left the world as a good person. She left it standing against evil. Not everyone can say that."Eden knew he was just saying it to make her feel better, and as much as she appreciated the effort, she couldn't stop feeling like it was her fault. She looked up at Bennett and smiled, resting her head on his shoulder, so he couldn't see that she was still bothered. They heard footsteps come down the stairs and turn their heads to see Theo walking over to them. He had a w
A week passed since the incident happened, and Eden continued to have nightmares about it. She felt like she was being a burden on the Mason family. They were alerted at all times, and were always careful of what they said around Eden. Theo, Betty and Chester were very nice to Eden, but none of it compared to how much care Bennett was taking of her. It made her heart melt everytime he did something to make her feel comfortable. He made her feel loved and wanted.Eden hadn't seen Grace, Sophia or Natalia for a week. It was all over the news what Carter had done, so they knew what happened, but weren't allowed to meet her in person until they made sure that Carter was locked up.The video of Carter harassing Eden and killing Aliana was leaked on the dark web, and soon it was being circulated around in group chats and server
