Aria’s perspective
“So Anton is gay and he used you for three years because of his family status, just to cover up...” Hadley was pacing in front of me, I was cuddled up on her bed, holding her pillow to my chest. I had taken the taxi to her apartment when she called.
“You’ve to stop sulking, Aria. I knew there was something wrong when he refused to touch you. He rarely kisses you, except for forehead kisses and pecks. I always had a hunch that something was wrong.” She snapped her fingers and then sat on the bed, she rubbed her hand down my arm. I lifted my eyes and stared at her, she smiled at me and pulled me into a hug.
“I have somewhere to be tonight and I can’t leave you alone.”
“If you think of leaving me alone, I'm gonna kill you,” I murmured.
She laughed at my threat, pulled me away, and wiped the tears from my eyes. “Stop crying over him, Anton isn’t worth it.”
“I thought he loved me.” That was why I never thought about anything else, I thought his love was enough for me, and that was all I needed.
She slapped my arm, I whined and glared at her.
“Enough of that. He used you.” She hissed.
“You’ve to get dressed, and we’ll have some fun. You can forget all about Anton tonight.”
Tonight should have been my happiest day but it turned out to be the worst.
“Where are we going?”
“We are going to have a drink. I have to meet Eason at the bar." She grinned and winked at me when she mentioned her boyfriend Eason.
"So you've to come with me." She strolled over to the mirror and brushed her golden hair. She hummed a song, moved over to the wardrobe, and grabbed some clothes.
"You seem happy about my breakup."
She chuckled and threw her head over her shoulders. "I'm just happy that we are going to spend some time together." She shrugged.
I rolled my eyes at her. “You never liked Anton.”
“This will look good on you.” She tossed a black strapless short gown at me. I frowned. “What’s wrong with my jeans?”
“There’s no way you're wearing that to a club with me.”
I wanted to argue but she placed a finger on my lips to shut me up and shook her head. “Don’t even say a word.”
"You'll forget about Anton tonight and focus on yourself.”
I sighed and nodded.
“Smile.”
I forced a smile on my lips at her, and she pulled my cheek. “Pretty girl.” She returned my smile.
I have been friends with Hadley since college, and I was glad that I became friends with her.
I got dressed, and Hadley sat me down on her dressing table and did some light makeup on my face.
When she was done, we took a taxi to the bar, it was one of the famous bars in New York, Vegas Bar. It was strictly for millionaires, and there was no way you could get in without a pass or a member of VIP.
“Come on, Aria.” Hadley held my hand and pulled me towards the entrance.
“Hadley, how are we gonna get in?” I asked in a panicked voice, I didn't want to be embarrassed for not having a pass.
“Don’t you trust me?” Hadley smirked and brought out a black card from the clutch bag she held.
I stared at her, and the guards at the door bowed at her and opened the door.
Hadley smiled at me, and I wondered how she got a black card. It was for the upper room in the bar.
She pulled my hand and led me in, her red heels clicking on the ground as she walked. The music was blaring with speakers as we walked in.
There was a bar section, and beside it was the stairs, I could feel eyes on my body as we made our way to the bar section.
I noticed Eason when he waved at us, he was seated with a bartender.
He was on black pants and sleeves. His hair was gelled backward, and he smiled brightly when he saw me.
“Eason, we are here!” Hadley waved at him, and we walked towards him.
“Good to see you, Aria. Did something happen, you don't come to a bar.” Eason muttered as we sat down. Hadley whispered something to him, and he nodded. “Do you want me to beat him up for you?” he offered.
I chuckled softly and shook my head. “He already made his choice.”
“You are letting him off just like that?”
I shrugged. I didn’t know what to do, I just didn’t want to think about Anton tonight.
I was served a drink from the bartender, and drank from it, though I didn't know what it was, it seemed Eason was having the same thing.
It tasted weird in my throat and burned down to my stomach.
What was this?
The sound of the music increased, and I glanced over my shoulder and a few people were dancing.
I turned away, and my head was starting to feel heavy, all I took was just a glass.
“You want a refill?” The bartender asked while staring at my empty glass.
“What is this?”
“A drink.” He mouthed.
I wondered why it had a sour taste and made me feel dizzy as if I was getting tipsy for just a glass that wasn't even filled up.
“I will get you a refill.” He replied when I didn't say anything to him.
“Are you okay, Aria?” Hadley touched my shoulders. I smiled at her and nodded. “I think I need to use the restroom.”
“It’s that way.” She pointed towards the direction of the restroom and I had to take the stairs.
“Do you want me to come with you?” She asked, raising a concerned brow.
“I will be fine,” I muttered and stood up. Has it been that long since I drank? I have been tipsy already for just the glass I took.
I managed to find the restroom and splashed some water on my face when I was done, I came out of the restroom.
I went to look for Hadley but encountered unfamiliar faces and the soft music that was playing.
I looked around for Hadley but couldn’t find her or Eason.
I heard whispering behind me, there were some strange men in this place in the bar close to the bar section when I left Hadley.
They were dressed in a black outfit.
A man approached me and I gave him an awkward smile.
“...she’s human.” I heard another whisper directed at me. I looked around, and couldn't find who was talking. My black gown was so short, and I was beginning to feel conscious of my exposed skin.
“I’m sure she's here to pleasure us. That's what they are meant for, freaking humans.” The man in front of me muttered.
This was starting to freak me out.
“Who are these people?” I asked in a whisper in a voice only I could hear.
“...she’s a pretty one.” I heard a hoarse voice behind me.
“But she's human.”
“Who cares we’ll have fun with her tonight, no one can have a human as a mate...” I felt something sharp and gentle on my exposed legs, like long fingernails.
I held my breath, gripping tight to the table that was before me. I was too scared to turn.
“Does she know this is a werewolf mating ceremony that's being held here? There's no way she will leave this room alive.”
Aria’s perspectiveThey surrounded me, and I could feel the sharp fingers on my thighs by one of the huge men in black. He smirked and lifted a finger on my chin. “How did you get here?” He asked me directly now, he had been standing without saying a word for a while.I tried to take a step back but bumped into one of the men. He grinned, showing off his upper teeth.I swallowed hard, and the man in front of me chuckled darkly. His fingers trailed down from my jaw to my collarbone. “She will do it for the night. Pretty human.”“I...I...” I was sputtering. My head was spinning from the drink I had earlier, I couldn’t walk properly or point out exactly where I was and I couldn’t speak before these men. I have no idea who they were or what they could do to me.I couldn’t find Hadley either, all I wanted was to have fun and this wasn’t the fun that I wanted.“Should we take her?” The one behind me asked. The man in front of me, I noticed that he had a red tie on his black sleeves.Who wear
Neon’s perspectiveMy chest was heavy from my pent-up anger, and the veins on my forehead were visible. My wolf had been restless since the evening the mating ritual started. It has kept us on the edge, Jax was nervous, and I don’t know what it was. He was never the one to show any emotions. He was showing emotions that I couldn’t decipher, and it was starting to agitate me.The mating ceremony started in the upper room in Vegas Bar, I arranged for security and no one could come except a member of my pack but we lived in New York City and among humans who didn’t know about our identity as werewolves since we were in disguise.Vegas Bar was one of the businesses I had a partnership with. For some hours now, I have been pent up than usual. Something about today felt strange.I took a lighter and decided to smoke on the balcony.I wheezed the smoke into the air and rolled up my sleeve. There’s no way I could let Jax out, not tonight.‘It's mate! I have a feeling she’s close. I have never
Aria’s perspectiveMy eyes fluttered, and I was lying on something soft. I glanced around me, the room was nothing familiar to my apartment in Queens or Hadley’s room. There was a chandelier above me, and the room was so cold, that the heater wasn’t turned on.I squinted my eyes at the bright light, I felt tired and weak.My head was killing me, my throat was sore. I rubbed my hand on my forehead giving it a little massage.I stared under the covers as I still had my clothes on, and it was still on my body.I sighed, and palmed my forehead, trying to remember where I was and how I got here.“You’re awake. You should take this it’s gonna cure your headache and...” A man strolled into the room holding a glass.I blinked my eyes at him. “Who are you?” I asked, and how did I get here?Did I spend the night with him?No way Aria. There’s no way you could have done that.“You don’t remember, last night we...” He stopped talking.“We what?”He smirked and moved towards the bed. “What do you t
Neon's perspectiveI was nervous around her, she wasn’t aware about it. I have never been this close to any woman, I have always known that my mate will be the only woman for me. If I haven’t found her, Diana was going to take the place of a Luna, the Alpha’s mate.I felt a rush of adrenaline just standing this close to her, she had no idea how intoxicated her scent was when she’s around me or what she’s doing to me. Jax has been purring in excitement ever since we found her, we couldn’t sleep. So we watched her sleep. Came into her room at intervals and stare at her, a little scared that it might be a dream and if it was, I didn’t want to wake up from it and found her gone.We couldn’t wait to mark her and claim her as ours.If she could reject my love now, what if I told her that she was my mate and in my territory? And the kind of world that I live in, and my identity as a werewolf. How would she take them? How would she react when she find out?Run away and recognize us as a beast?
Aria's perspectiveI watched him leave. There was this glint in his eyes when he said he will let me leave. He was so adamant on making me stay in his mansion. But, I wasn’t gonna let him control me like some kind of property that he owns.I don’t even know this man! But I know that he lied about letting me go.Everything has been strange from that night at the bar.I hurried to find my shoes. It was placed beside the bed, I put them on.I ran to the window and looked down. It was the second floor, IfI could get on the roof and slide down and land on my butt, it wouldn’t hurt, right?I just have to give it a try.I need to get home and away from him and this creepy house!I climbed over the window and walked carefully on the roof, then I sat down on the edge of the roof and pushed my hands back.Striking myself to fall on the ground, I did not fall on my butt as I had thought but ended up falling on my stomach and face.Fuck!I winced in pain but forced myself up, peeping quickly if so
Neon's perspective“...who are you?”My chest burned within and my throat was tight as I tried to keep my emotions from erupting, I ground my teeth and ignored her question.‘Bring the silver handcuff.’ I mind-linked Silas.‘On it, Alpha.’ His response came almost immediately.I took the handcuffs from his hands when he came close, he retreated his footsteps.I spun and grabbed her left hand.“What are you doing?” There was a slight panic in her voice when I took her hand. I grazed her wrist with my fingers and handcuffed her hand to the bed.“Making sure this doesn’t happen again.” I let go of her hand when I was done. “Stop struggling with it, you will end up getting hurt.”“Why do you care?” She spat angrily, her icy glare fixed on my face.“Keeping you safe from all harm is my priority. I can’t let you get hurt. That’s all you should know.” I held her gaze, my hands placed on both sides of the bed beside her.“Are you ready to talk to me now? Why did you run away? You should have t
Neon's perspectiveI stood up from the bed, marched down to the door, grabbed Diana by her wrist and dragged her out of the room, let the door slam shut behind me.“Neon!”I glowered at Diana, she was wearing a grey pantsuit a lavender silk blouse, and matching heels. Her blonde hair was smoothed into an elegant chignon. I wonder where she was coming from all dressed up.“Come with me, now.” I took in a deep breath to calm my agitation. She was struggling with me to let go of her wrist, surreptitiously, stealing glances through the door of Aria’s room.“Let go, Neon!” She yanked her hand free from my hold and rubbed her wrist while glaring at me.“Come with me. Quietly.” I ordered.“I deserve some respect too, Neon. Don’t you think I deserve to know what’s going on?”“Come with me,” I repeated my words and started to walk down to the study. She stormed her feet on the ground murmured inaudible words, and followed the path down to the study room.“Close the door.”“You are unbelievable
Diana's perspectiveI have been working hard for the pack and this was how he decides to pay me, after everything that I have done? The crowning ceremony was a couple of days away and he’s going to make her, a human girl his Luna?He was choosing her over me.It’s been just a few days she has been here and Neon has completely forgotten about me.His affection for her grows stronger by the day, how he talks about her and the way he calls her name.I thought he would one day, look at me that way, call me his Luna, and accept me as his chosen mate.But.I was nothing to him, the years we had spent together building and straightening the pack meant nothing to him, all that matters is his mate, a silly human. The leverage I have over her is that she’s human, she could not stand a chance against me who has the blood of a Beta and a strong wolf.My father died while protecting Neon, that was how I was chosen to be his Luna.I have lived with Neon ever since, I know everything about the pack a
Aria's perspectiveI didn’t know what was going on, and why was Diana missing but I was too tired to get up from the bed, my eyes felt heavy and I needed more nights of sleep.I brought one of the pillows close to my chest and wrapped my hand around it since Neon wasn’t in the room.My stomach grumbles as if I hadn’t eaten a while ago. After a while of tossing around, I eventually fell asleep. When I woke up, I was alone in the bed, and it felt as if something was hanging on my throat. I rushed out of bed into the bathroom and threw up on the toilet. My hand gripped the toilet seat and vomited everything that I ate last night.I flushed it down the toilet and splashed water on my face on the faucet. I washed my mouth as well and came out of the bathroom.“I was about to open the door, are you okay?” Neon was standing there with a towel in his hand.“Did you throw up?”“Yes.” I sighed.“I didn’t see you on the bed when I woke up.”“I left early, there was an emergency you were sleeping
Silas' perspectiveThe moment I went down the stairs with Rufus in my hand, we found Diana at the bottom of the stairs. She froze when she saw me, and her jaw dropped to the ground. She took a step down the stairs.Probably she wanted to eavesdrop to know what would become of me since the Alpha had caught on.I pulled Rufus along and met with her. “You will have a word with the Alpha soon. I won’t come for you now, Diana. Give me some time when I have gathered enough evidence, I will make you regret every choice you’ve made.” I whispered to her ears when I was close to her.I saw her fist cleaned, and her face was filled with fear and anger. She said nothing, there was nothing for her to say knowing that she had been caught.I pulled Rufus along, and out of the house. I could feel her eyes behind us, till we were out of the house.I handed Rufus to the prison guard and made sure he was watched and they won’t leave his side for a minute.I hurried to the Pack hospital. I needed a Pack D
Neon's perspectiveHer eyes snapped to my face, she took a step closer to me. “Neon.” She muttered in shock.“What do you mean I should leave, where would I go? Neon you know I have nowhere to go, this is my only home.”“Then you should have thought about your actions!” I raised my voice at her.“It was just sleeping pills you gave Aria, it could be poison next, and then what, you would kill her!” I was struggling to keep my wolf in check, we had just come from a long day at the meeting and came home to meet this.“Neon, no...” She shook her head as if she was going to justify her actions.“I didn’t know what came over me.”I huffed. “You didn’t know?”“I did.” She replied.“Are you messing with me now? The guards told me you planned this, you carefully made this plan and got the necessary things that you need, and you don’t know what came over you?”She fell on her knees, clasped her hands together, and cried. “I’m sorry, Neon.”“It’s Alpha!” I corrected her.“Alpha Neon please, I won
Neon's perspectiveI didn’t understand what was going on, I wanted to see my mate, Aria. If anything had happened to her, I made my way to the bed after picking up the duffle bag that I dropped. I dropped it on the floor beside the bed.My hand touched her hair and down to her face, she was breathing but her eyes were shut. She wasn’t having any clothes on, they must have stripped off from the dress she wore. I clenched my fist beside me and stared at Silas. “Who made my mate like this? Which of you strip her?”“It wasn’t me!” The guard who was on his knees immediately shouted. I tore my gaze off Silas when he was about to speak.“Who did?”“It was Luna Diana, Alpha. She was the one who took off her dress. We had only carried her into the room. We didn’t do anything else.” He rushed his words.I nodded, trying to understand why Diana would do such a thing. What was she planning that she had my mate involved in it?“And what are you doing here Silas?”“I already explained what happened
Silas' perspectiveMy eyes fluttered open after a while, I groaned and felt a hand pulling me. I opened my eyes fully and saw a guard pulling me along to the bed.“Fuck, why is he so heavy!” He grunted and dragged me forward. What was going on?And what was the headache that I felt earlier?I hit his hand off my body, and he jolted forward. I saw the shock on his face when he noticed that I was awake.“Why did you bring me here?”“B-Beta?” He sputtered as if lost for words.“Speak!” I shouted. Why did he bring me into Neon’s bedroom when I was talking with Diana earlier at the bar section?I glanced across the bed quickly. Aria was on the bed with the covers on. I darted my gaze away from her body when I saw that her shoulders were bare. What the fuck happened when I passed out?I stared at the other guard who was hiding behind the door and pulled him out of there. I slammed his back on the wall. “You will speak now or I will slit your throat!” I threatened. The other guard who had car
Diana's perspectiveWhen I left Neon in his study room, I couldn’t go back to sleep. If I don’t act fast, I might end up losing everything, and Neon would find out.If he does, that would be the end of me and I couldn’t let that happen.I paced around my bed, thinking of what I should do, and Silas was on my tail too. If the rogue gets caught, I will be in so much trouble, and it’s not gonna end well.I sighed and sat down on the bed after pacing back and forth for a long time.I bite my nails while thinking of what to do, I had to come up with a plan else it gonna be hell.Neon won’t believe anything I say, that it was all Aria’s fault that all of this was happening, he seemed as if he was bewitched by her and won’t think Aria could be of any wrong or anything was her fault.I hurriedly picked up my phone when it rang, and answered it.“Hello...” I said on the phone while waiting for the receiver to respond. He didn’t say anything for over a minute.“Can you hear me?”“Heard one of my
Neon's perspectiveI got informed of the meeting with the elders and had to leave the house.I didn’t want to leave Aria alone in the house though the guards were there but they weren’t as strong as my Beta or Gemma. The rogue was still on the loose, and he could find his way to the mansion. Aria said he saved her, I couldn’t help but be suspicious about him.He could come back here, and if I wasn’t around I need my Beta to be here to guide my home, and my mate and Diana as well. They are the people I cherish most and I don’t want anything to happen to them.I had a quick shower and dressed up. Aria was still sleeping. I kissed her lightly on her lips. “I love you, mate and I’m sorry.”I went out of the house, shutting the door quietly behind me.I will see her when I get back from the meeting, and I will try not to get back late. I couldn’t stay hours away from my mate.I drove to the pack house. We were having the meeting here.“Alpha...” The elders stood up when I came in, they lowe
Silas's perspectiveI stayed a while in Neon’s study after he went for a meeting with the council of Elders. I worked on the pack issues we were having and started arranging his study before he came back.I had to make sure the study room was cleaned, and every book was placed in the right order.I asked the Gemma to leave and go on with his work at the borders, and I was behind at the mansion.I was intentionally waiting to see Aria. Neon said she was asleep before he left and I was waiting for her to wake up so I could check up on her and hold a few conversations.I wonder how she was feeling, and if her wound was healing. I forgot to ask if Neon used his saliva on her because it can also heal wounds, she probably didn’t want to take Neon’s blood.Aria looked scared to be a werewolf and not after what she had seen, and what happened to her.She probably thinks we are all beasts.I ran a finger through my hair and stepped out of the study when it was past six.‘Should I ask the maid t
Aria's perspective“Do I have to be a werewolf?” I mumbled. She chuckled softly and folded her arms on her chest. She stared at me as if she wanted to read my thoughts.“How do you expect to lead a pack of werewolves when you’re human?” She asked amusingly.“I thought it could work.” My voice came out faintly.“Don’t be silly. Aria, think about it, we are werewolves, you’re just human. You’re different from us, werewolves like us can’t go to your city and become president of the states and that’s how it works here too.” She rolled her eyes.I pouted my lips. Neon told me he has an estate business in New York, and he’s influence in New York. He’s a werewolf but he was able to do all that.“Can they tell?”“We can easily sense that you’re human. It’s like a bad omen.”I clamped my mouth because I had no idea how to respond to that, I looked away from her.Her words hurt.Does Neon think like that as well? That I’m nothing but bad luck.“Do you think Neon thinks that way as well?” I asked
