“Wake up baby girl,”

I heard the voice faintly, Arthur’s voice right in my ear before finally showering me with many kisses on my face, my eyes slowly opened and his face was in front of me with my favorite smile.

“What time is it?”

“8 am, you fell asleep on the couch as usual so I brought you to your room,” Arthur said.

“Oh really? I waited for you last night but you didn’t call me,” I just grumbled and sat on the bed, leaning my body on the headboard and looking at him with a pout, I was just teasing him but honestly it was also part of my feelings.

“I’m sorry baby, it was my fault because I didn’t call you but it was because my phone was dead and I came here immediately after I finished my business, and found you on the couch, my girlfriend is so adorable,” Arthur said while stroking my cheek, making me blush.

“But wait, how did you get in here?”

“I never forget your birthday,” Arthur said.

“Then why do you always knock or ring the doorbell if you know the code?”

“Well that’s because this place is your privacy, I need to knock before entering, I can’t just come in like that,” Arthur said.

“Arthur!! This is your place, I’m only here temporarily and—“

“Who said you’re only staying here temporarily?” Arthur said.

“Me your girlfriend, didn’t you hear me? I’ll look for an apartment when I have enough money so don’t say things that don’t make sense,”

“Sarah,” He grabbed my hand suddenly, making me confused and nervous at the same time, his face looked serious, maybe because I said something wrong.

“What’s wrong? You rarely call me by my name unless there’s something serious you want to tell me,”

“Let’s get married,” Arthur said.

Hell!!! I was just stunned looking at him with my big eyes wide open as well as my mouth, why can’t I say anything? Why are my eyes hard to blink? But my heart was beating so fast and I wasn’t sure if this could last or explode at any moment.

“Sarah, we’ve been together for 5 years and my parents asked me to get married, so will you marry me?”

Arthur mentioned the word marriage again, making me very nervous, and as soon as he took out a ring from his pocket, it was a diamond, my eyes sparkled when I saw it, not because I was materialistic but because it was so beautiful.

“Sarah..”

Can this man be quiet for a moment? I have to digest everything before letting out what’s stuck in my mouth.

He just smiled at me and put the ring on my ring finger, I couldn’t give anything but hug him, I was so lucky to have him.

“I love you so much, Arthur!!”

“I love you too Sarah,” Arthur said and let go of his hug before kissing me.

That's all we did, in 5 years he never touched me more than this, he always took care of me, my body, mind, and heart, he treated me like a precious thing in his life and I never thought of another choice, maybe without him, I wouldn't be like this, this is all thanks to Arthur.

The day of freedom has arrived...

Finally, I got out of that place, the air felt different out here, cooler and free, my chest wasn't tight and I didn't smell the strange smell from their bodies but I would miss them, especially Billie and Mary.

I immediately went to the parking lot while carrying a car key, when I pressed it, a black Mercedes Benz lit up and I just smiled.

"Crazy bitch!" That's what I call Mary, she gave me all the facilities she had for me to use, yes everything including cars, houses and the money she had in her secret account.

Leaving there I went straight to the place I missed so much, I parked right in front of the fast food restaurant, where I used to work and waited to see if Jodie still worked there or if he had become the owner.

Get out of the car and go inside, the smell I missed, cheese and fries, perfect, I was so hungry. I turned to the cashier and it wasn't Jodie, just another innocent girl standing there with her round glasses.

"Welcome to Cheesy & Cheesy, can I help you with your order?" The girl said in her adorable voice.

"Do you know Jodie?"

My question confused her, she just stared at me and hesitated to open her mouth but someone came out of the manager's room and it was him.

"What the fuck!!! Wait!! Are you... are you Sarah? My Sarah?" Jodie said, he was very surprised to see me and immediately approached me, hugging me tightly, making me suffocate.

"Enough!! You almost killed me, I just got out of that damn prison and you want to kill me,”

“I can’t believe you’re here, look at your appearance, red hair, tattoos on your arms, you’re so different, but I still see you as my Sarah,” Jodie said.

“I can’t believe I still see you here, without an apron and That stupid hat, are you replacing that pervert?” Jodie nodded and led me into his office.

“Rosie, bring me a double cheese with pickles and grilled onions, a large cola, and fries with cheese to my office,” Jodie said to the innocent girl I met at the cashier.

“Ooh, you still remember my favorite,”

“How could I forget when you eat it every day, sit down, just think of it as your room,” Jodie said.

The place was very different from the last one I remembered, more refreshing and suited Jodie’s cheerful vibes. I could also see a photo on his desk, him and a girl, I knew the girl but not the story behind it.

“I guess my Jodie is no longer single?”

I teased him making him embarrassed and quickly closed the photo on his desk, he came to my desk and sat in front of me.

“I even forgot that today is your freedom day, since the last time you forbade me to visit you in prison I thought I lost you,” Jodie said.

“I just feel burdened if you keep coming there, you see me every day, of course, I get tired of seeing you,”

“Sarah!! How could you get tired of seeing my face, I am so happy to see you here, you look amazing, I thought your life would be ruined and you would be a mess when you get out but no, you look perfect,” Jodie said.

“It’s a long story and I won’t start it now, let me enjoy today first, I even have to adjust to the air outside here, and that girl outside, what’s her name?”

“Rosie? she’s a new worker, she’s only been here for 2 weeks after the other bitch chose to resign, what’s wrong?” Jodie said.

“Oh nothing, she looks innocent but attractive, is she still very young?”

“Only 20 years old, don’t use her for revenge,” Jodie said.

“What revenge?”

“Sarah, don’t lie to me, if I were you I would do the same thing, accused of murdering someone cruelly and thrown into prison for a crime we never did, I will make sure that person pays for everything, I will not die and will not let that person die, even if he dies I will drag him out of the grave,” Jodie said.

“Woah!!! Are you a psychopath? I just want to enjoy my days now, I don’t want to think about that bastard, as long as he is still alive it means I still have time to make him kneel before me,”

Yes, I will make sure that happens like I did when he dragged me into prison, I will make Arthur Wood feel what I feel, he must be as destroyed as me, because cowards like him don’t deserve a perfect life, at least there should be a surprise in the middle.
