When she stopped talking, we were all reeling from her words. I didn't realize that Nate's mother herself had a hand in this. With what Jessica has said, she is the actual mastermind of all of this and Jessica and the other person are just pawns in her game. I've figured out why she insisted on having Jessica succeed her as the next Luna: she needs someone she can continue to control, thereby continuing to oversee the affairs of the pack. I don't understand why she wants so much power when she has it already. She can do whatever it is she wants even without being the Luna or controlling the Luna.

I'm sure if I had been submissive to her the first time we met, she would have wanted me to be the Luna and backed me up instead of Jessica. My refusal to conform to her standards and kiss up to her made her hate me, thereby cancelling me as a candidate to become the next Luna in her place.
