___ROSE’S POV____
“Nate?” I called out, more like a question. He started, looking guilty like a kid that have been caught with his hands in the cookie jar, doing what he’s not supposed to do. He looks like he didn’t want to be caught dead here and least of all by me.
He also looks like he didn’t get enough sleep but that has been his look for the past few days. I can see that he’s still in his nightwear which means that he hasn’t had his bath yet. He must have just woken up then.
“Good afternoon, Rose” He greeted and cleared his throat, looking everywhere but me. I didn’t understand why he wasn’t looking at me directly in the eyes. His eyes drifted off to my body and back away. I looked down at myself and saw that my robe was
__ROSE’S POV___When I was satisfied with the amount of times I’ve fawned over myself, I left the closet to meet Jo and Jerry, the former who had her camera already trained on me.The squeal that came from her confirmed what I already know. I look too good to be true. Jerry’s hands were on his mouth and he looked like he was about to cry.“I didn’t imagine it will look this good. You definitely have to come and model for me sometime, Rose. You bring the beauty of my clothes to life and that’s what I’m aiming for. You make me so emotional, I can’t believe this is what I’ve made” Jerry is being dramatic now. It’s not me who has brought the beauty of the dress out, it’s the opposite. The dress had brought out the beauty in
___NATE’S POV____When I left the hospital, I didn’t know I was going to end up going to my parent’s place. I had originally planned on getting something to eat because I was getting hungry when the call came in. It was my dad. He asked that I meet him at the family house as soon as possible. There’s no way I can ignore a direct order from the current alpha, so I had to go.There was no time for me to go back and tell Rose or any of her siblings, so I left without them knowing. Since I was in the hospital area, the drive from there to my parent’s was short.“You came earlier than you’re expected to” that was the first thing mom said to me as soon as I walked into the door. Of course, there’s no welcome son, how are you doing? Becau
__ROSE’S POV___The reception of the party was similar to the first one; a lot of paparazzi outside trying to get pictures of everyone. They are even more than the previous one so I’m assuming there’s a celebrity here somewhere. When I got down from the car, there was a collective intake of breaths and the snapping became plenty in earnest that I almost got blinded by the lights.Nate took my hand and guided me through the sea of bodies. Even though bodyguards are everywhere trying to push them back, the paparazzi weren’t relenting and threatened to break out of the line they are confined to. Everyone of them were trying to get pictures, not necessarily of me, but I know I’m part of the reason. Questions were being shouted but we paid no attention to them as we made our way to the hall where the event was.
__ROSE’S POV___I watched as the two of them jumped apart in their seats. The woman’s face went from annoyance at being disturbed to recognition of me. She stood up and left without another word.“You couldn’t even wait for a few more days, Nate? We have just two days left and you can have basically anyone you want. You got annoyed with me for walking, just walking around with Ralph but the second I got into the bathroom, you start talking to some bimbo you want to sleep with. Have a little bit of self respect, would you?” I said all of these calmly, taking a sip from the glass in my hand. This is some good stuff. They’re really big on what they serve here.“You don’t have to assume that I’m trying to sleep with every woman I
___ROSE’S POV___Saying I was shocked when I heard my name was an understatement. I sat down in extreme disbelief until my name was called twice.“Mrs Jones, please come up!” The host instructed me. I never realized that my dress could be up for auction and for $100k starting bid at that.Nate got up and helped me to the podium where I stood in front of the sea of faces. I can see a lot of placards up already even before they started the bid. It shows how many people actually want the dress. I see Nate and Emily’s cards up. They are also planning on bidding for it.I didn’t even realize when the dress was sold and to Emily of all people. She got it for $300k, which is way more than I expect
___ROSE'S POV___We couldn't continue, not now that the person on the other side knows there are people on the other side of the door. It could be someone trying to use the toilet or something.Nate and I spang apart and tried to look as presentable as possible. I know it's going to be harder on my part because of how much undressing I did, but I did what I could. I dragged the clothes back down and up to my boobs and arranged it. Fortunately, my hair didn't undergo much, so I just had to use my fingers to comb through for it to go back to the way it used to be.There was a mirror in the room so I used it to check my face. The makeup hasn't smugged much, except for my lipstick which I will reapply as soon as I get to my bag. I'm sure Jerry left a lipstick of this shade in my bag. He never allows me
___ROSE'S POV____I know Jo jokes around a lot so I didn't pay head to whatever she has just said. I strolled forward to go and join them on the dinning table and the excited face she turned towards me had me curious. What if it's true? What if I am really truly viral? I shook my head to clear these thoughts. There's no way that's possible. She barely let me sit down before she hovered around me, that silly smile still on her face. "Have you checked your phone this morning?".As a matter of fact, I haven't. Since I switched it off in the car yesterday, I haven't had the time or opportunity to use it again. I'm sure I haven't charged it yet because it has to still be in the purse I took with me to that event yesterday. I forgot to plug it in yesterday. That's not correct. I was too distracted to r
__ROSE'S POV____Neither I nor Jo heard when Nate came down. He is barefoot, which can be the reason why we didn't hear him. Not that he exactly came down, but he was already on the last steps of the staircase. I wonder how much he has heard. He moved down completely and walked over to where we were seated. He took a seat opposite us and waited for an answer. When none was forthcoming, he asked again."What don't I need to know about?" He leaned forward in that intimidating way of his, prepared to intimidate us into answering his question."It's nothing. We were just talking." I replied to him and gave Jo a look that said "speak and I'll annihilate you right here." She gulped and faced away from me.
