Jasmine
Jasmine was taken aback by Zain’s forwardness at kissing the top of her head. But she didn’t mind. She liked that people in his culture were so friendly and affectionate. But it would take her a bit to get used to. Although her parents were affectionate, it wasn’t like this. But she wasn’t complaining.
“Sorry about that,” he replied, seeing her reaction.
“I’m not.” She shrugged. “With you, it feels natural.” If any other guy had done that, she would have probably decked him without thinking. But not Zain. He was different. With him, everything was different in ways she couldn’t explain.
“Here you go!” Miguel announced, setting two rectangle paper containers lined with thin paper on the counter. “Let me know if you’d like anything else.” Then he smiled at Jasmine. “It’s nice to meet you, miss. Make sure to keep this one out of trouble.” He laughed, pointing his thumb toward Zain.
“Okay, okay! Don’t scare her off,” Zain said, taking both containers.
Miguel shrugged. “She doesn’t look like she scares easily to me.”
“Don’t worry. I don’t.” Jasmine smiled as she lifted the sodas from the counter. “Are you sure we can’t pay you?”
Miguel held a hand to his chest as if she had just mortally wounded him. “If you do, fair lady, I shall be highly offended.”
Jasmine liked him already.
“Well, I want to make a good impression and I don’t want to offend you. But next time, I’ll pay.” She smiled, holding up one of the sodas. “Thanks, again!” Then she headed toward Zain, who had set the bowls on a portable plastic table near the truck. Obviously, Miguel had brought the tables them with him and set them up every day.
“I like this one, Zain!” Miguel yelled out, pointing at Jasmine, causing him to laugh.
“Thanks!” he yelled back, shaking his head as he turned back to Jasmine. “Sorry about him. I hope he didn’t scare you off.”
“Just like I said, I don’t scare easily.” The aroma from the Tostones and Cuban sandwiches filled the air. “Man, this smells good!”
Zain picked up his sandwich. “Wait ‘til you taste it.” He took a big bite and rolled his eyes, moaning with delight.
For a moment, Jasmine wondered if that was the look he had on his face when he made love to a woman. She smiled, shaking her head, unable to believe that her thoughts had betrayed her like that. She had never been with a man before, after all, and thoughts like that could get her into trouble. But listening to him groan over his sandwich like that filled her mind with obscene thoughts of things he could probably teach her, or that she wanted him to teach her.
She let out a deep breath, forcing herself to turn her attention back to her sandwich and laughed. “Taste good?”
Zain rolled his eyes. “Ah! The best! I’ve really missed these.” Then he waved at his uncle, getting his attention, and gave him a thumbs up.
Miguel chuckled. “Good?”
“Just as I remembered!” Zain took another bite and looked over at Jasmine. “Aren’t you hungry?”
Jasmine giggled, nodding as she picked up her sandwich. Oh, she was hungry alright. Was it getting hotter out here, or was it just her?
“What?” Zain stopped chewing and looked at her as the most innocent look imaginable spread across his face, which made it even funnier.
Jasmine shook her head. “Nothing. I was just enjoying watching you eat.”
“Well, take a bite, and you’ll see why.” Zain watched her, waiting to see her reaction.
Jasmine took a bite and the savory flavors fill her mouth. “Oh, wow! This is delicious!”
A triumphant grin spread across his face. “See? Told you!” Then he turned his attention back to his sandwich.
She continued eating, resisting the urge to wolf it down. Then she saw the fried circles. “What are those?”
“Tostones.” Zain wiped his mouth and then picked one up. “You dip it in sauce and eat it. I warn you, though. The sauce is a little spicy.” Then he looked up at her. “Do you like spicy food?”
She nodded. “Yes, but as long as it’s not too spicy.”
“Here.” He held up the tostone dipped in sauce for her to try. “Try one.”
She slowly took a bite, looking into his eyes, gauging his reaction, but then the savory flavor filled her mouth. “Ah! This is delicious!” She took another, not caring if she looked like a pig.
Zain laughed. “I told you so!”
“Man! You weren’t kidding!” As she ate, the flavors took over and the thought of eating like a lady went right out the window. When she finished eating, Jasmine was so full she thought she would bust, but she still had the other half of her sandwich left. “You want the rest of my sandwich? I can’t eat another bite.”
Zain shook his head. “No, between my sandwich and the Tostones, I’m good.” He thought for a moment and then added, “Want me to ask my uncle if he’ll wrap it up for you?”
“If he doesn’t mind....”
“Are you kidding me?” Zain chuckled. “He’d be thrilled that you didn’t want to throw it away.”
Jasmine laughed. “No way! This is the best sandwich I’ve ever had! Until what time does he usually stay here? I’d like to bring my mom and dad up here sometime.”
Zain’s eyebrows rose innocently. “Really?”
She nodded, smiling. “Of course!”
“He’s usually here until four o’clock at least,” Zain replied. “Sometimes five, if he’s busy.”
“I’ll keep that in mind.”
Zain picked up her sandwich container from the table as he stood. “I’ll be right back.”
“Thanks.” She watched as he headed toward his uncle’s food truck, enjoying the view. He had the best tush, the most gorgeous legs, and the best body she had ever seen on a man in her life. And muscles like that only came from daily workouts.
Zain said something to his uncle that she couldn’t hear, and then Miguel held his hand up and waved to her. Jasmine waved back, and Zain came back with her sandwich, smiling.
“Ready?” he asked, handing it to her, now neatly wrapped in white paper.
“I’m ready if you are.” Together, they cleaned up their mess and then headed back. “So, what did your uncle say to you?”
Zain chuckled as he ran his fingers through his short, dark hair. “I’d rather not say.”
Jasmine tilted her head to the side, smiling, trying her best to flirt. “Tell me.”
“Well, don’t get mad. Okay?”
Jasmine looked at him as if he had four heads. “Your uncle is so nice! I can’t imagine him saying anything inappropriate.”
“Well, it wasn’t inappropriate....”
She batted her eyes, trying to make her voice sound sexy. “Tell me?”
Zain laughed. “Wow! You really do want to know, don’t you?”
“Okay. Now I feel like a complete idiot.” Jasmine walked off, feeling color fill her cheeks, trying to forget that her flirting was an epic fail. It had been the first time that she had ever consciously tried to flirt, and it would be a long time before she ever tried it again.
“Hey! Where’re you going?” Zain yelled, jogging up fast behind her. When he grabbed her shoulder and turned her around, she could feel her cheeks burning red as tears filled her eyes with embarrassment, threatening to spill over. She hated that her anger and humiliation were hardwired to her tear ducts.
“Whoa!” Zain pulled her against his chest, and she couldn’t find it in herself to pull away. After a moment, he placed his finger under her chin and turned her face toward his. “I’m so sorry. I was only teasing.” He bit his lower lip as he stared into her eyes, sexy as hell. “If you really must know, he told me not to let you get away.”
Her heart soared, but she maintained her cool exterior. “And what did you say in return?”
Zain looked directly into her eyes. “That I don’t intend to.”
ZainAlthough he hated to say goodbye, Zain walked Jasmine back to her parents’ apartment, knowing she couldn’t spend much more time in the sun. As fair as she was, she would fry.“I had a nice time with you today,” he said as they walked toward her door.Jasmine nodded, obviously having had enough outdoor fun. “So did I.” But as they walked toward her door—literally right on the beach—she paused. “Would you like to come in for a while? We can pop some popcorn and watch a movie.”Zain shook his head. “Maybe some other day. But I would like to meet your parents, if that’s okay.” He laughed. “I don’t know what’s customary in your culture, but in my culture, the boy has to meet the girl’s parents before they go on their first date. Then, usually they have to bring along a little sister as a chaperone.”Jasmine’s eyebrows rose in disbelief. “Seriously? In today’s day and age?”He nodded. “‘Fraid so.”“Well, lucky for you, I don’t have a little sister. I’m an only child. But don’t give my
JasmineOver the next few days, Jasmine and Zain went surfing every day. It was an unspoken, simple vow between them. And Jasmine found that she looked forward to each day, knowing she would spend it with Zain. Then, when it was time to go, she hated to leave his side in the afternoon.“Where are you going?” her mother asked one morning just before she was going out to meet him.“Surfing.” Jasmine was already getting a nice tan from being out in the sun every day. On this day, she wore a floral summer shorts set over her bikini, thankful that her mother had insisted on getting them. Her mother’s lips were set in a straight line. “I don’t want you seeing that boy anymore.”“Mom, he’s a great person.” Jasmine hurried to gather her things, not in the mood to hear her mother’s complaints again. If Zain had been a boy of society from what her parents deemed as a “good family,” her mother wouldn’t be complaining at all. But that was one of the things that Jasmine liked about Zain. He was hi
ZainZain traced a finger over her cheekbone, along her jawline, and then gently cupped her neck with his hand, looking into her eyes. “Tell me.”Her breath quickened, and he knew her resolve was waning. “That’s not fair.”“What?” he asked, his voice low.“You’re using coercion,” Jasmine breathed. Then a broad smile spread across his lips. “Is it working?”Jasmine sighed, and her face suddenly fell. She pushed abruptly away and started backing off. “I’m going home. See you later.” Hot, angry tears began filling her eyes, threatening to spill over as she turned around and hurried away.Zain stood there watching her, stunned beyond all words. Then it hit him. She thought he was playing her. “Jasmine!” He ran after her and caught her arm, quickly turning her around, his eyes filled with shock. “Jasmine, I was only kidding around. I’m so sorry. I’m not a player. I swear.” He reached up to catch a stray tear from under her eye, but she turned away. “Hey, hey!” He looked directly into her e
ZainThen he gently parted her lips with his tongue and taught her how to French kiss, letting his fingers trail over her back. Suddenly, she kissed him with vigor, giving him the best make out session he’d ever had. He pulled back a moment later, breathless.“What’s wrong?” Jasmine asked, running her fingers through the side of his hair, her eyes searching his, filled with concern.Zain took a moment to catch his breath and to calm himself down before things got out of hand. Then he leaned in and gave her another sweet kiss, and said against her lips, “I just don’t want things to get too far out of control.”Jasmine nodded, understanding. She looked into his eyes, her eyelids half closed, looking sexy as hell, which did nothing for his resolve. He smiled. “Just do me a favor. If you ever kiss another guy, don’t kiss him like that unless you want more than you bargained for.”Then her face suddenly became serious as she wrapped her arms around his neck and looked deeply into his eyes.
JasmineJasmine held Zain for a long while in the water as the waves washed over them and then gave him another passionate kiss. His lips moved to the tender skin right under her jaw. “Ready to get something to eat?”She laughed, thinking of the adage: the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach... and almost-sex. “Yeah. I am.”“Are you okay?” he asked, moving a strand of hair away from her face. She nodded. “I’m fine. You?”He cocked his head to the side. “Yeah. I’m fine.”Then Jasmine thought of something. “Are you going to think differently of me now?”Zain held her close, looking deeply into her eyes. “Never.” Then a crease formed between his eyes. “Do you think differently of me?”Jasmine smiled, shaking her head. “No. Never.”She didn’t want to scare him, but at that moment, she knew it would never be over between them. Jasmine gave him another passionate kiss, her legs still wrapped around his exquisite, naked body, committing every moment to memory. Then she released him,
ZainThe next day, Zain knew that Jasmine wasn’t going to be at the beach, so he opted to go to the batting cages instead, and then spent the rest of the day at home. He almost went to the beach anyway but knew it would remind him too much of Jasmine.Want to go to the batting cages? Zain texted Raphael.Well, hello, stranger, he texted back. To what do I owe this honor?Sorry we haven’t spent any time together yet. Zain sighed. So, do you want to go or not? If Raphael wanted to go, then fine. But he wasn’t going to beg.A moment passed and then Raphael texted, I’ll be there in half an hour.See you there.Zain showered and then dressed in a baseball shirt and shorts, donned a baseball cap, and headed out. It had been a month since he had gone to the batting cages, so it was time. Even though Zain was out for the summer, he needed to make sure to take time to practice. He wondered if Jasmine would like to go with him sometime. He smiled, imagining her in a baseball outfit in a batting
ZainZain turned on the engine and listened as his truck roared to life, knowing he had to get out of there. He turned down the street, thinking of Jasmine. Even though he hadn’t told her that he loved her yet, he did. And somehow, he knew she felt the same. But then again, he had just taught her how to kiss and had given her a taste of love. Zain knew she had a lot more firsts yet to go. He had dated and been with other women before her, but he wanted Jasmine to be his last. Although he was glad that he was the first man she kissed and the first man to give her an orgasm, he wanted to be her first with everything. But she was young and had a lot more life to experience before she settled down... and he didn’t want her to miss out on it because he had taken it from her... robbed her of it. He would never do that to her.But no matter how she felt about him, he loved her, and he would wait until she was ready... if she wanted him.As Zain drove toward the batting cages, he thought of a
Zain“So, you’re in love with her, right?” Raphael took a sip of his beer as the ocean breeze blew through the open bar. It was one of their favorite sports bars, Louie’s on the Beach. They served seafood and steaks, wings, and had the best beer on tap around. And the beautiful view of the beach didn’t hurt.Zain nodded, looking down at his beer, and took a swig. Then he looked out over the ocean. “I’m going to keep in touch with her while she’s in college and I’m playing ball.” Zain smirked as his eyes met Raphael’s. “I just don’t want to lose her to another guy in the process.”Raphael shrugged. “Then marry her.”Zain’s head snapped up. “What? Where did that come from?”“Marry her in secret.” Raphael took another sip of his beer. “No one would know. And then you’ll know that she won’t be going anywhere while she’s in college.”Zain laughed, shaking his head. “Of all the crazy ideas, I think this one takes the cake.” He took another sip of his beer. He would give anything to be able
Jasmine “If this is casual, why does it hurt so much?” Jasmine asked Zain as the taxi pulled up in front of the courthouse. Zain bites his lower lip, tears in his eyes. “We don’t have to do this. We can stay married and get a corm room together at USC.” “I know, but I don’t want to hold you back.” As tempted as that sounds, she could never forgive herself if he quits baseball to support a wife and family. “You’re not.” They had the same conversation for the last hour. And before that, every time one of them had brought it up. “Jasmine, we could rent a car and speak with the officials at USC when we get there.” He sighed, his eyes pleading. “then we can call our parents and let them know what’s going on.” She chuckled. “At least they would have a year to get over being mad at us.” Zain gave her a small, heartbreaking smile. “Or until Christmas.” “Let’s go.” Jasmine knew if they didn’t get out of the cab now, she’d take Zain up on his offer and have the cab driver take them to a
ZainSteam billowed around them like a warm, comforting blanket—a stark contrast to the chill of uncertainty that awaited outside the sanctuary they had created. Zain reached out, his fingers trailing through the condensation on the glass door before pulling it open. The sound of water rushing from the showerhead filled the space with a soothing rhythm, and he stepped inside, eager for the embrace of both the heat and his wife.Jasmine was already there, a vision of serenity beneath the cascade. Her skin, kissed by water droplets, glistened under the soft bathroom light. She turned toward him, her eyes locking with his with an intensity that spoke volumes of the wordless pact they’d made—to cherish these final moments before parting ways, before their love was tested by distance and time.“Hey,” Zain whispered, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips, inviting and genuine. His heart thrummed, a steady drumbeat syncing with the pitter-patter of water hitting the tile.“Hey,” Jasmine
Zain Zain and Jasmine lay on the bed Sunday night, eating a pizza. They had take out sent in and hadn’t left their hotel room since they entered it. They were officially married now… no matter how long it lasted… and could do what they wanted for only a few more glorious hours. Zain’s heart sank, hating the thought of having to say goodbye to her the following day. He had waited for her his whole life. And now that he had found her, he wasn’t going to let her go. “Come with me to USC,” he breathed against her skin, the pizza forgotten. She rolled him over onto his back and lay across his chest, looking into his eyes. “Zain, we talked about this.” “I know, but we’ll have a whole year to figure something out.” He hated the thought of leaving her behind after graduation, but he hated the thought of losing her more. Jasmine kissed his chest, her beautiful brown hair fanned out over him, framing her gorgeous face. “Zain, I’m not going to hold you back—” “You won’t.” He bit his lower
Jasmine Jasmine's heart thundered, echoing the ripples of the satin sheets beneath them as they lay in each other’s arms. But the air felt heavier, as if soaked in anticipation of more to come. “How do you feel?” Zain pushed back her hair as he looked into her eyes, breathless, his eyes filled with concern. “I’m fine. Ready to go again?” Zain laughed. “I thought you’d never ask.” Zain sat up, bringing her with him as he held her in his arms, his lips descending upon hers in a passionate kiss. I’ve never felt this way before.” “Neither have I.” She hated herself for the thought but had to know. “Have you ever been in love before?” He sighed, lost in thought as his hard cock rubbed against her pussy lips, causing them to twitch. “I thought I had been in the past, but it was nothing like this. Now, I know that I’ve never truly loved anyone else before… not like this. Jasmine, no matter what happens between us, you’ll always be the one.” “Shush….” Jasmine gently pressed her finger
Jasmine Zain swept Jasmine into his arms, and she nestled against his chest as he carried her to the bed, laying her down gently, lying over her, careful not to crush her. Zain pulled her close, his hands slowly moving over her trembling body as heat exploded under his touch. His hands were strong and gentle, exploring every inch of her as he kissed and massaged her breasts, licking and sucking, and then slid down her body to her stomach. He circled her navel with his tongue and then moved lower, wrapping his arms around her legs, guiding them over his shoulder. “Zain, I want you—” “Just relax,” he breathed, dangerously close to her heat but with a tenderness that made her ache deep within. She ran her fingers through his hair as he clenched the side of her panties with his teeth, pulled them down her legs, and then discarded them onto the floor. “You are one gorgeous woman,” he breathed as he looked into her eyes, reaching up to rub and massage her breasts. Jasmine nearly rose o
Jasmine “I’ll be right back.” Zain rose from his seat and headed straight for the counter. She took another gulp of her Margarita, letting the sweet liquid work its magic, relaxing her. Jasmine smiled as she watched Zain at the counter, guessing she opened her mouth too soon. Zain sat in front of her a moment later with a take-out container and set it to the side. “For when you’re ready to go.” She nodded, smiling as her nervousness threatened to return. “Let’s finish our drinks first, then we won’t have to leave our room the whole weekend.” He chuckled as he took another sip of his beer. “Are you sure you don’t want to see some sights while we’re here?” “The only thing they want to see is you naked on our bed.” Jasmine didn’t know where this sudden burst of courage had come from, but she liked it. It must have been the Margarita. Zain laughed, rolling his eyes. “You know how to make a man squirm. Don’t you?” “Let’s finish our drinks and get out of here.” She didn’t have to te
Zain “Thank you, Rev. Woodward.” I smiled as I shook his hand vigorously, my heart pounding so hard I thought it would burst. He chuckled. “It’s my pleasure. Now....” He placed his hands on our shoulders, looking between us. “Go and have a wonderful life.” Gladys dabbed at her eyes as she approached. “I’ve never seen a more beautiful couple.” She pulled Jasmine in for a hug. “Congratulations, dear.” “Thank you.” Jasmine dabbed at her eyes, too. Then Gladys pulled me in for a hug. “Take care of that girl,” she whispered, her voice serious as she released me. I nodded as my heart plummeted. After this, there was no way I was going to be able to let Jasmine go come Monday. “I will.” After saying our last goodbyes, I placed my hand on the small of Jasmine’s back, and we headed into the hallway. “So, where would you like to go? The Steakhouse again, the Pizzeria, or the Blue Iguana.” “The Blue Iguana?” Jasmine looked at me as if I had lost my mind. I shrugged as I hit the button
Jasmine“So, you must be Zain Perez and you must be Jasmine Hunt!” A cheerful man greeted them as they walked in. “Yes, we have an appointment to be married at twelve o’clock.” Zain handed him his driver’s license as well as the marriage certificate. Jasmine handed him her driver’s license, too. She was afraid that the kind, older man might say something about her having just turned eighteen, but he smiled as he handed back their IDs. “Well, it looks like everything is in order!” He smiled as he clasped his hands. “This is how it’ll work.” He pointed toward a glass case where a woman stood, smiling. “Ms. Hunt, you’ll choose the bouquet you’d like, and Mr. Perez, you’ll choose the handkerchief to go in your front breast pocket. Then you’ll both come and stand at the altar.” He clasped his hands, suddenly serious. “Are either of you religious?”Zain glanced over at me and then nodded as he turned back to the man. “Both of us are.”“Good,” the kind man replied. “My name is Reverend Woo
Jasmine Jasmine nodded and took off her robe as he watched, his eyes combing her body. Although she was happy that tomorrow would be their wedding day, she was sad that it wasn’t real. But it always would be for her... no matter what happened between them in the time to come. Try as she might, she couldn’t sleep, so she rolled over to face Zain. “Are you awake?” His head nodded slightly in the moonlight. “Yes, of course.” “Promise me our life together will be amazing.” She took in the sight of him lying in his bed with his arm tucked behind his head, shirtless as the moonlight illuminated his body. “I promise.” There was a pause in the dimly lit room. “Look. We’re committing to each other tomorrow, no matter what happens on Monday. And I promise you, that commitment will stay with me... always.” Jasmine smiled, starry-eyed as she dreamed of what tomorrow—and their lives—held. “Always.” Zain let out a contented sigh as he turned to face her, his eyes illuminated in the moonligh
