Melody's POV:

Just like I had heard, some people were around the corner of the hallway holding brochures for the Valentine's Dance.

But that wasn't what stopped me. It was the thing those girls were talking about.

"Who knows if Brody takes me to the dance?" The Asian girl gushed.

I knew I shouldn't be eavesdropping on their conversation, but I had heard something. I wasn't retreating back until I was sure.

The girl next to her with dark red streaks in her hair rolled her eyes, before turning and slamming a poster on the wall. Just like I had imagined, those posters were a mixture of reds and reds.

Another reason for me to not attend it.

"I heard there are special guests accounted for the Dance." The blonde head said.

I cornered against the locker I was hiding behind.

"Don't even think about it, Angie." The girl who just slammed the poster, said. "I'm going on that dance with him. With Asher Martinez."

I knew it!

"You are definitely crazy. He's a special guest. Not someone who you can

Melody's POV:"Grandma!" I rushed forward giving her a big hug.The familiar scent of vanilla enveloped me as she hugged me back."Ah, my sweetpie is here." She said hugging me back.Grandma was my favorite person in the family I had. Of course, I didn't know her. She wasn't even familiar. But the way she had been there with me back at the hospital. Trying to make me feel better each day, I couldn't help but open up towards her."You must be hungry. Come on." She said pulling me alongside her.I laughed as I managed to close the door before getting dragged by her. She was one of the cuddliest and funniest grandmas.I dropped down on the couch looking at her as she brought chocolate chip cookies to me."Where's everyone?" I asked while munching on one cookie."Ah, they have gone to one of Lucy's family wedding." She said caressing my hair."Tristan?""He is in the college. He knew perfectly well, if he came here, I would've dragged him around until he cleaned every bits of his dirty ro

Melody's POV:I smiled against him feeling something flutter inside me. We stayed like that for a while until I realized I had to go back. I pulled away but not too much, since he didn't let me."I've got to go. There is-" I stopped when I realized that Grandma was already watching us.I didn't even realize when she got out."Grandma." I finished before pulling away in surprise.Asher turned too before a grin formed on his face."Why didn't you tell you got out?" I asked her with a frown. She gave me a pointed smile."Well, who am I to interupt such a cute moment?" She asked.I cleared my throat, signalling her to not do this here. Instead, she kept on smiling."Why don't you two lovebirds come inside before you freeze to death?" She suggested.I closed my eyes, hoping Asher didn't listen."You do not have to go back, do you?" She asked Asher. As I opened my eyes, I saw Asher looking a bit surprised at the situation. I wish grandma would get the clue.I was about to say something when

Melody's POV:I was in a cafeteria. It looked like a school. A high school judging by the teenagers roaming around, crowding the tables, eating or gossiping their way towards the lunch line.Except it wasn't like that.Everyone was silent in the cafeteria. As if everyone had been pulled into silence. Not forcefully since most of them looked curious or surprised. I had no idea what had gotten everybody's attention. All I knew was that mostly, the glances were directed towards the table where a group of boys sat or it was towards me.They were looking at me.The possibility that people were looking at me in a flashback made me want to throw up. But that quickly disappeared when I realized that it wasn't me they were looking at. They were looking at the girl behind me.Melody.It felt like I was looking in a mirror. But she looked so different from...me. Something looked different in her. Something that I couldn't understand. She was wearing an oversized hoodie with a curtain of hair hi

Melody's POV:A concussion. That's what the doctor said it was when I woke up in the hospital bed. According to them, it had been few hours since I was out. "...this possible?" I trained my thoughts back on what Dad was saying. All I knew was that the news of me in the hospital had gone to dad somehow, probably through grandma, and now he was here when he should've been attending the wedding.Thankfully, Lucy didn't. I already felt guilty of pulling dad into this. I hated being in this hospital bed more than anything. Nothing was making me feel better.Especially, the looks everyone was giving me. Like it was my fault somebody gave me those pills which I felt too intrigued to take and fall in a...concussion.Grandma placed her hand on my shoulder, rubbing it comfortingly. "It's all fine, dear. Your dad's just a tad bit worried. That's all. He'll be fine." She reassured me.I looked back at dad who was talking with the doctor, a deep frown on his forehead. The thing that he was stil

Melody's POV:I took my coffee and headed for a table to sit on. It was the nearest café I could find this early morning. Because I felt like I wouldn't be able to open my eyes even a little bit if I don't get coffee.Especially since I had been busy all night between biology and stuff that concerned me. Which was a lot.I took the sip of the very extra strong coffee. I didn't usually drink this. I didn't drink coffee either. Looking out from the transparent glass walls, I saw the basic view of early morning Orlando. Most of the people hadn't even woken up yet. Except those who needed their coffee. Like me.I took out my phone, looking at the screen. I don't know what I was looking at. I wanted to call Asher. But what would I say? What you need to tell him!I know I practically panicked back at the hospital in front of him. I still do when I think about that pill box. But would he even believe me? It sounded too irrational even to my own self.He wasn't in that flashback. Did I even

Melody's POV:I managed to convince Riley to keep her mouth shut about what she saw. But that didn't mean she wouldn't try to get it out from me. That's how she was."You didn't tell your own best friend?" She asked out loud as I sat down on my bed.Right now, almost everyone was in my dorm. Amelia, Selina and Riley. All of those who I didn't want to face right now."Didn't tell what?" Selina asked rummaging through her closet.Out of all of them, the most sober looking was Amelia. Who didn't even care what was going on at the moment. She was busy in her laptop, her glasses crooked on her nose."That she's seeing Asher Martinez." Riley completed. So much for actually begging her to shut up. I gave her a really bad look which she only returned with a shrug."They are your roommates, aren't they?" She went over to Selina and showed her hand.Selina looked over in unbelievable surprise."You bitch, where is my autograph?" She looked over at Riley.Amelia looked over at all of us."Asher

Melody's POV:"I don't know. It's hard concentrating when there's so much going on." I said glancing at Asher in front me.He zipped and unzipped his burnt orange jacket which in my opinion, looked really good on him. And maybe that's why I was finding my eyes on him every second."Maybe you should focus more on your counselling sessions?" He suggested.I looked away this time."Or maybe you should talk about this?" He looked behind me with a frown. But it disappeared as soon as it came. The café we were sitting in was very less crowded."To the counsellor?""I cannot believe you're actually saying that." I finally looked at him.God, why did he have to look so good?"What? I'm just trying to help." He said defensively.I shook my head."That doesn't even sound like you're trying. You know what it sounds like?"He looked at me in confusion."Like you're trying to get rid of me." I answered. He leaned back on his seat. You know what angered me more? That he didn't even try to deny it.

Melody's POV:"How can he do that?" Amelia exclaimed.I looked up from my essay papers. The thought that the front door was opened and people were always passing by, was uncomfortable.Anybody could hear us."I don't see a reason why he can't." I replied.Amelia had known something was up the moment I returned from the café. She didn't press on it. Neither did I tell her. But the next morning, she had finally asked me. And I told her. I didn't see a reason why I shouldn't."Maybe he had lost his head or something." She muttered, biting on her nails.I looked at her confused, before moving back to my essay. I needed to submit it by today. Which was hard since a lot of things were circling my head. A lot of questions. A lot of emotions."He loved you, Mel."She genuinely seemed more sadder than me at that point."When I had my memory." I added.I hated how collected I sounded. In reality, I was a mess. I didn't know what to do. I was so lost."But it doesn't end like that." She insisted

Melody's POV:"I think that's...more than enough." I said eyeing the amount of flour."No no no. I think it needs more of it." Lana picked up the pack of flour and started adding it in the dough. Which looked a bit rough.I took it from her before it completely fell in the bowl. Not getting the clue that it was a lot, she still stuffed her tiny hands in the dough."Why is it so hard?" She asked before stumbling back at the stool she was standing on. Thankfully, I caught her right in time. But the bad thing was that I kind of lost my footing."Woah-" Asher was right in time to stop me from falling. "-I thought you guys were baking cookies?"Lana straightened up and hopped back on the stool. No wonder she was excited."We were." I poked a finger at the dough. "But someone added a lot of flour."Asher pulled me against him and chuckled."Aw, I thought I was good at baking!" Lana complained with a pout before wrapping her arms around my neck. I wasn't surprised how she liked hugs just like

Melody's POV:When I opened my eyes, I wasn't in that same alley. Or that same street. I didn't have any idea where I was. Except that I was in a car. And the car was driving off to somewhere. It took me minutes before my view adjusted over to the speeding car. Blinking for a while, I straightened up and looked to my left."Cameron?" I heard my voice breaking out the silence.Realization hit me like ice cold water."Didn't think you'd wake up this soon." He muttered before changing the gear and speeding the car.I had to grip my seat from falling over. Looking over at him, I realized how he was the same as I'd last seen him. But then again, he wasn't. Something was different. This wasn't the Cameron who gave me a ride from that disastrous party."What...what are you doing?" I asked, gulping my sudden fear.My head still ached a bit.I saw him give me a glance before back at the road. Both the sides of the road were covered with trees. The night wasn't helping either."I'm finishing it

Melody's POV:When Asher had made me listen to his new songs, I had fallen in love with him. All over again."Can I point out how much talented you actually are?" I asked, taking off the headphones he had given me earlier. Turning around in the chair, I faced him. He was sitting on the grey couch at the corner of the room, waiting for my reaction."Really?"I narrowed my eyes at him."Are you serious? How can you not have any confidence in this?" I asked pointing off to the large screen. He leaned back on the couch with a shrug."I was thinking of not releasing that one." He pointed off to the song I was just listening. The song that made me fall in love with him. Again. My eyes widened at that."I swear to God, I'm not letting you make the biggest mistake of your life." I said.I saw some of his nervousness draining away as a smile twitched on his lips."Biggest mistake?"I turned around before looking at the screen all over again."I'm sorry, Asher, but I'll have to break up with yo

Melody's POV:"So when am I getting a sneak peak on your new album?" I asked as we exited the café.Today was the last day at college, the last day of the semester. Part of me felt sad leaving my friends and part of me was looking forward to the vacations."You aren't." Asher said walking beside me.I frowned and looked at him. "Why not?"He ran a hand through his brown curls. Something felt off about him."Because I'm going through a major case of self doubt right now." He replied. My lips twitched into a smile but I stifled it for his sake."Oh, come on." I nudged his arm lightly. "You and I both know how perfect it's going to be."He looked at me, still in doubt."You haven't even listened to it.""Well, that's why I am asking you to give me a sneak peak." I said with an eye roll. The frown still didn't leave his face. I came in front of him, making him stop."Hey, I swear I would give you a hundred percent honest opinion. Looking back where Asher had been, I didn't see him anywhere. I knew I had to talk to him."Where's everybody else?" I asked her, referring to Selina and Riley."Oh, they're back there." She waved her hand behind her.As if on cue, Riley came followed by Selina."That was some serious performance."I took out my phone, texting Asher.Me: Where did you go?"It would've been, only if that girl beside me hadn't been screaming like shit." Selina said with an eye roll.A part of me wasn't expecting Asher to reply. Not at all. But when I felt my phone vibrate in my hand, I perked up.Asher: Backstage.I didn't see the reason to waste anymore time than I already had."I'll catch a ride back myself. See you guys later." Melody's POV:As expected, dad hadn't taken the news as easy as Amelia had. At first, judging from his expression, I knew he didn't believe me. Thankfully, I had Amelia by my side."Melody, this isn't some kind of joke." He had said, looking between me and Amelia."It isn't, dad." I had told him. "I do remember everything."I had told him about my flashbacks just like I told Amelia. He had been surprised. I knew it would be harder confessing this to him than anybody else. But when he had given me a relieved hug, everything had been worth it.Thankfully, none of us talked about my mother. I was trying my best to forget her. Saying that I didn't miss her would be wrong. I did miss her so much. And I knew this wasn't her fault. But I didn't want to face her above all of this. And I think dad felt the same way."Things could've been worse." Amelia said before sitting down on my bed, beside me.I tried not thinking what worse could be for now."So, what are you wearing for the concert toni

Melody's POV:What I had imagined once I'd get my memory back was everything getting happier and alive once again. For some reason, it turned out to be the exact opposite.Mainly because my missing memory had been gone for a reason. I hadn't been ready. And now that I knew it, I'm sure why I wasn't ready to accept it.But I had promised to try and move on. Everyone had already moved on. Only I was left behind spending my entire weekend with Asher. I hadn't been ready to leave him and face the reality. I was scared what I'll face.Until today. When I went back to my college, I was expecting something different. After all, Riley had been there with me. The girl who can't keep such kind of an incident all to herself. Thinking that she wouldn't have told anyone would be impossible for me.I couldn't blame her.Surprisingly, when I went back, I didn't notice people staring at me. Nobody glanced at me the second time. Everyone looked normal. But once I opened the door to my dorm, I knew I w
