Chapter 95: The Imperial Forces Attack

Not a few of them cowered in fear as they saw the strange apparition above them. More than their fear of the giant and the snake creature who they had tried to hold off, the enormous apparition flying over them presented a more immediate danger that portend their imminent defeat and destruction.
Much to the outlaws’ surprise the huge bird circled above them twice before dropping to the ground in front of them to face the attacking imperial forces. There was a flash of yellowish flight and Eldion looked around to see what it was. What he saw made his eyes open wide and his jaw drop. Kora’s huge wings were flapping wildly as she hovered over the courtyard. She had opened her beak and there issued what appeared to be a stream of fire. Soon, tall flames rose between the imperial soldiers and the area in front of the courtyard, stopping the imperial soldiers from going any further.Eldion saw Kora land on the ground and was quickly patted by Lankko as if to praise her for what she did. Casser realized that he would not be able to get through the gap in time and stopped struggling as he reached for his long knife that was dangling from his belt.
