It had been two days since Jess had made her confession to Pete. She had initially been worried about the lie she had told, but after seeing Pete’s reaction, her worries faded. Pete had been furious so she knew that he would never have a reasonable conversation with William. On the other hand, William would never have a chance to tell Pete about their budding friendship and the kisses they had shared. This decision would do two big things for her. First, it would stop Mrs. Garcia from threatening her and second, it would eliminate William and discourage his recent aggressive advances. She was sure that after this William would stop pursuing her once and for all. She applauded herself for killing two birds with one stone, while convincing herself that her feelings for him would fade away.
Jess had written a formal resignation letter to William and she had sent it to his personal email address. She had
Amanda Garcia was sitting at a restaurant sipping on some tea. She was waiting to meet one of her old friends so that they could go somewhere together. It had already been ten minutes and Amanda was getting impatient. Her thoughts trailed off as she sat there reminiscing on the activities that had shaped the last month. She smiled when she thought of her son Peterson. They were getting along very well now and he called her every day. He also came to visit her once or twice a week. He had stopped coming to the house with his girlfriend and he claimed she was busy but Amanda knew she had managed to instill some fear in her. She had not expected the girl to be so easy to deal with but she was pleasantly surprised that fear had been the motivating factor. Although she had thought that everything was over, she had continued to investigate her so that she could stay one step ahead. It had turne
NextGen was holding their annual company party at a ball room in a luxurious five star hotel. The hotel was accommodating all the employees plus many of their clients. Leaders from the subsidiaries also joined the party in what began to look like the biggest networking event of the year. Jess was dressed in a long, body hugging silver dress that Pete had insisted on her wearing, while he was dressed in a smart suit with a silver tie. He had come with her to the party and introduced her to many of his co-workers at the IT department as she introduced him to her colleagues in the PR department. For some reason, Pete seemed to be attached to her at the hip and he accompanied her everywhere. As the night progressed, the crowd began to thin as the top tier leaders went home. They had already become tired of mingling with the have-nots as they usually did this just as a show of unity. The subordinates began to relax and the party became a bit more upbeat. T
Warning: explicit content coming up Pete had been restless all through the NextGen party because Ben had reported to him that some of his men were missing. At first, they had thought it was just the common thefts that characterized their operations, but they knew there was trouble when the guys turned out dead without anything stolen from them. One of the bodies had a message attached to it to indicate that it was a revenge attack for the violence that they had experienced in the previous months. Pete had received a call that one of the other gangs that were under attack, had called for a meeting to discuss a joint attack. This was when he had left the party to attend the meeting. They had gone with Ben and two other men, and when it was time to meet the other leaders, the two men remained outside. Ben and Pete had waited for a long time until they had almost given up. Then a bloody
Warning: explicit content coming up The day after the NextGen party, Jess had spent all day working uneventfully. The evening had taken a twist when Pete had picked her up in the company of a woman he identified as Ella. He had gone ahead to assault the woman when he thought that Jess was out of sight, and then he had come upstairs as though nothing had happened. Jess was uneasy about the situation but she decided to ask him questions indirectly. He had just come out of the shower and was wearing a pair of shorts and a vest. Jess had just finished with supper and the table was set for dinner. Jess had showered earlier on while dinner was getting ready. “Pete, what happened to your car? You picked me up with a different car,” she said. “Ben had to run some errands so Ella gave me a ride. I w
It was the first day of the official hotel field work and the staff at NextGen were excited to be going on holiday. Each employee had been given several allowances that allowed them to purchase flights, taxis and every other convenience that a regular traveler would need for a comfortable visit. They were also given a small allowance that would cover extra services like massages and spas. Each employee was dispatched the night before so they would all check into their hotels at the same time. Jess was not as excited as the rest of the staff because she had experienced this kind of work before with William. She had planned on checking in in the afternoon after her doctor’s appointment which was scheduled for the morning. Pete took her to the appointment and then he dropped her at the airport for her flight. She slept all through the flight and it wasn't until she was checking out her luggage that she noticed that William was on the same flight.&n
“In love with two men? This I had to see for myself,” Leslie shouted over the phone. She had placed a video call to Jess immediately after she saw her call. Jess had just taken a nap after the most relaxing massage, when she was woken up by Leslie’s call.“Why are you so excited? It was a hypothetical question,” she said.“And you suddenly hypothesized about being in love with two men? Girl please. This is Leslie you are talking to,” Leslie said. They both giggled and then Jess sat up.“Tell me about him,” Leslie asked.“There is nothing to tell. He is just a good friend who told me that he has feelings for me. I kinda like him too but I’m pretty sure I shouldn’t be feeling this way,” Jes
Jess opened the door to her apartment and the silence was too loud. This was the 12th day in a row that she had gone without seeing Pete and she missed him. He called her once in a while and they had met once at work but he claimed that he was too busy with work. She had asked him if things would be easier if she came to the penthouse but he had refused. He said that he was barely there as well because work took him everywhere. She took out her phone and talked with a few friends then she video called William. They talked for almost half an hour as had become their habit and then she went to make dinner. When she had showered and eaten, she decided to call Pete before she went to sleep. His phone rang a few times but he didn't pick up. She got into bed and watched a movie for a few minutes before she tried again but this time the phone was switched off. This was unusual for Pete because he rarely ignored her. Jess began to think back to the last month
Ella and Pete remained frozen as they watched Jess walk away. Pete was feeling like his whole world was crumbling in front of his eyes. All the issues with his parents and the trouble this was posing in the business and now this. The common denominator in all the problems in his life was Ella. He looked at her standing there innocently, as though she had not just cost him his relationship. He now hated her more than ever before. Ella saw the look in Pete’s eyes and she knew she had made a huge mistake. She tripped and fell on the floor, as she tried to walk away from him but he caught up with her in a few quick steps. He kicked her painfully in the stomach and then he pulled her up so that she was standing. He slapped her twice and then he drew her close because another resident was passing by and he didn’t want any trouble. He nodded to the passerby and then whispered in Ella’s ear before he pushed her away. “Thank Amanda the
Jess's house sat in a compound of eight houses. The houses shared a front yard and main gate although each house had a separate backyard. Jess liked it because it was close to her place of business, but it was convenient and affordable. She had just come home from work and walked into the house. She was startled to hear soft music playing. The windows were open and the curtain swayed gently in response to the breeze. An aroma of meat cooking wafted into the living room as she walked towards the kitchen. She was pleasantly surprised to find William slicing some tomatoes. “Welcome home,” he said as she stood and smiled at him. “I thought someone had broken in,” Jess said, as she walked to William. “What kind of a thief breaks in and starts cooking?” he asked. He pulled her in for a gentle hug a
The afternoon was looking good for Jess after she drove away from the apartment. She had driven around for a few minutes and then she had decided to stop somewhere and collect her thoughts. It was then that she realized that she didn’t have much money and she needed somewhere to spend the night. She decided to drive to her bank and withdraw a substantial amount of money to get her through the week. Once she had done this, she drove to a small guest house on the outskirts of town. She remembered this place from many years ago when she was looking for a cleaning job. The receptionist had been really kind to her although she hadn’t given her a job. Jess had chosen this place because she wanted somewhere safe to park her car which currently held all her belongings. She also needed somewhere without a check out time like in a hotel, because she wanted to spend some time thinking through her next move. She was panicking at the thou
Back at the office, everyone was wondering where Jess had gone. Everyone in her department had seen her being summoned to the MD’s office and then they had seen her pack her things and leave. They all assumed that she had been fired for some grave error. However, none of them could understand why she had not said anything to them. She had left as casually as though she was going to the washroom, only that she was carrying all her belongings. It was therefore a surprise when William came downstairs looking for Jess. He looked round her desk and was surprised to find that her pictures had been taken down.“Where is Jessica Harris?” William asked the person at the next desk.“She left before lunch,” the girl said.“Where did she go?” he asked.
Jess had expected herself to cry after seeing all she had seen today, but it seemed her tears had been exhausted in the chapel. She walked to her car and sat for a minute while she tried to gather her thoughts. She did not want to go to William’s house because his mood had frightened her. However, after a few minutes, she convinced herself to go there so that she could pick up her stuff and then leave. Maybe she could get a chance to ask William what he was talking about and why he was so angry at her. When she got to his house, it was quiet as it had been this morning. Jess packed her things slowly as she was buying time for William to come home. When it got too late, Jess tried to call William but he didn’t respond. She looked around the apartment and felt like she needed to engrave it in her memory. She had been happy here for the time when she had been with William. She was going to miss him but her relationship with Pete
Jess hugged William for a long time and she let him cry on her shoulder. It seemed like he had been crying for hours when he finally calmed down. He lay on her chest as she rubbed his head and gently kissed him. He was tired from all the crying so he simply held her and didn’t say a word. His phone began to ring again while they sat in silence and William picked it up. It was his father asking him to come home. He thought to reject this request but then he thought that his father was the only person who could share in his loss. He told Jess what the plan was and they showered in separate bathrooms. William was not in the state of mind to drive, so Jess drove him home. One of the drivers from the hotel drove her car to the Garcia mansion. When they got there, William asked her to come in for a while but she declined. He hugged her warmly as he took over his car and then they went their separate ways. Jess dropped the driver at the h
Don was having a confused morning. He had been informed that his wife’s condition was deteriorating and there was nothing he could do for her. She allowed him to visit her occasionally although she had adamantly refused to move back home. William also visited her often but he made sure that Pete was not present. It was becoming difficult to achieve this because Pete had moved into the house and he only left when he had other issues to deal with. Don was having a hard time trying to avoid both William and Pete while managing to spend some time with Amanda. She was fading away in front of his eyes so he needed to do as much as possible to help her. However, this morning’s news had caught him by surprise. He had not bothered to check on the updates about Jess recently because her days were rather predictable. She went to work and then home to Pete’s penthouse. Occasionall
Jess woke up to the sound of a trolley being wheeled. She looked around the huge bedroom and noticed that it was just starting to get bright outside. The sun was just rising and Jess smiled as she remembered her night with William. If she had thought that Pete was the most passionate man, then she was wrong. William was a tiger in bed. He had never ending energy and he was eager to please. Jess had enjoyed every minute of their love making. She walked to the shower as she looked around for her clothes. She could only raise a few items, so she showered and put on a bathrobe. When she got out of the shower, William was just walking into the bedroom. He was already fully dressed in his usual immaculate suits.“Good morning,” he said smiling.“Good morning,” she said, smiling back at him. “You are ready so early.&rd
Warning! Sexual content coming upJess had one of the longest days she had ever had at NextGen. She had tried to get the afternoon off immediately she got in but as luck would have it she was chosen for a project. The briefing would be taking place in the afternoon and she didn’t have much of a choice. It was either she forfeits the project by missing the briefing or she takes the afternoon off and plans her move. She decided to take the project and sleep at the apartment until the weekend when she could find time to look for an apartment. Jess went through the day without much contact with her phone because of the busy schedule. By the time it was time to leave the office, she realized that she hadn’t spoken to anyone on the phone all day. As she scrolled through the notifications, she saw two missed calls. One was from Leslie and the other was from Pete. She called back Leslie who wanted her to come
“Good morning,” Jess said when she walked out of the bathroom. Pete was standing by the bed scrolling through his phone. He had just come home and he looked tired.“Good morning,” he said. He looked briefly at her and then looked away. Jess walked to the dressing table and began applying her cosmetics. Pete sat on the bed and was watching Jess from the corner of his eyes. He looked worried like there was something on his mind.“How was work?” Jess asked as she finished at the dressing table. She was taking out clothes from the wardrobe and putting on her underwear.“I wasn’t at work. I was at mum’s house,” Pete said. Jess raised her eyebrows in surprise.“Is everything
