It was the day that Jack had been dreading. His birthday. He was 18 today. He had to leave the only home he had ever known, Old George Orphanage. Once an orphan had reached the age of 18, they were no longer able to stay. It was time to spread their wings and see what the world had to offer. However, Jack wasn't the only orphan being thrown out in the world today. His best friend, Jill, would be right there beside him. Today was also her birthday. 18 years old today. They'd been at Old George for as long as either could remember. Neither Jack nor Jill knew much of their past. Hell, they didn't know who they were or where they'd actually come from. Hence the names, Jack and Jill. Names given by those who raised them as they'd been inseperable since they'd met at Old George so many years ago. Their teacher, Ms. Summers, hugged them both and stuffed a few dollars into their hands before she saw them off. A tear in her eye. She'd basically raised Jack and Jill from toddlers to young adul
There was a faint knock on door to Jack and Jill's new room. Jack stirred from his rest and stood up to answer it. Standing in front of him was Edward and he had some clothes in his hands. "It's not much, but I found some old clothes at the thrift shop down the street. I know you and Jill don't have much money right now, so I thought I'd grab you two a couple things before your first shift." Edward handed the clothes to Jack. "You didn't have to do that," Jack responded, accepting the clothing from Edward. "It's your first night. Best to look good. Better you look, the more tips you two will receive. Go ahead, get yourselves ready, shift starts in an hour." Edward replied before he turned and walked away. Jack nodded and shut the door after Edward left. He looked over at Jill who had just woke. He tossed the clothing onto the bed near her feet. "Well, I suppose it's time to get ready. Edward brought us some clothes. Said for us to look our best." Jack pulled his worn t-shirt ove
It was busy. However, Jill was a natural. Men were fighting for her attention all night. They were certainly surprised by her appreance. They'd only ever seen Edward behind the bar at the Pour House. Therefore, Jill had certainly captured the attention of the male patrons. They'd order a drink and flirt with her in the process. Jill took it all in stride. She smiled at each as they ordered their drinks and would quickly serve them and move onto the next. Jack worked hard to keep up with the flow of traffic. He'd grab empty glasses, wash and rinse, as well as take a damp rag to the bar top when needed. He was impressed with Jill. When able, he'd glance at her and watch her work. Regardless of how busy she got or the attention she'd receive, she never lost her composure. She was in her element. Edward watched his two new employees work. He knew he'd made the right decision hiring them both earlier in the day. He was finally able to take a step back and relax now that he had help. This
The man in the black tailored suit continued to stand before Jack. Jack stood, confused how thus man knew things about him. He'd known that his name was Jack, that today was his birthday and that he grew up at Old George Orphanage. However, Jack had no idea who he was. The man had not answered him when he had asked. "Who are you?" Jack asked once more. The man studied continued to stare at Jack before he took another step forward. "How about you take a seat and we can talk about why I am here?"Jack thought about it for a moment. If this man had wanted to harm him, he'd have already tried to do so, wouldn't he? Jack decided to sit at one of the bar top tables, leaving the table between the two. The man stepped forward and took a seat directly across from Jack. The man reached unto his inside coat pocket. Jack tensed up before relaxing when the man pulled out a small piece of paper, a business card to be exact. He set it on the table and slid it towards Jack. Jack looked down at th
Jack sat back on the bar stool. His eyes were big. He ran his hands through his brown hair. Did he hear Mr. Gibson correctly? He was Henry Kingsley? No! He was Jack. He's always been Jack. This was impossible! Mr. Gibson must be wrong. He must have him confused with someone else."Mr. Gibson, I'm sorry, but you must be mistaken. My name is Jack. I grew up at Old George Orphanage. I'm no Kingsley descendant, I'm sure of it." Mr. Gibson politely smiled at Jack, "I know this is unexpected. To be given such news at such a late hour after growing up at the orphanage for some many years. Your grandfather, Lord Kingsley, never stopped his pursuit looking for you."Mr. Gibson took a breath before he continued, "But I do assure you, it's the truth. To find out after all this time you'd be staying at the orphanage after your grandfather's own name. It's unbelievable. We've already ran the tests, you are Henry Kingsley."Jack looked astonished, "What tests? How? What are you talking about?"Art
Jack woke up early the next morning. Jill was still sound asleep. Last night's events were on his mind. Could it have been a dream? Jack grabbed last night's pants and reached into the pocket. There he found the bank card, the business card and the paperwork which had his DNA results. Everything that happened last night actually happened. Jack stood up from the old chair he had slept in. He glanced over at Jill and confirmed she was still asleep. He quickly dressed in a t-shirt and jeans. He quickly brushed his teeth and ran his hand through his hair. Once he put his shoes on, he checked on Jill one more time before stepping out of the small room.Jack left the bar and hailed a taxi."Omene Bank, please." The taxi driver headed for Omene Bank. Jack decided he'd verify if the bank card was indeed real. All of this was still so surreal. The taxi pulled up in front of Omene Bank. Jack handed the taxi driver some money from his pocket and headed towards the bank. He stepped in line and
As Jack returned to the small room at the back of the Pour House, Jill was already awake. She was in the shower, singing to herself. Jack stopped and smiled to himself. He couldn't see Jill through the shower curtain, but he could make out the shape of her body. He watched her. He watched her dance and move her body as she showered, singing. Jack could make out the curves of her body. She had quite the impressive chest, a slender midsection and a nice round bottom. Jack took it all in before he gathered himself. What was he doing? Jack have a not so subtle cough, letting Jill know he was back in the room."Jack!" Jill screeched. She stopped singing immediately. Her cheeks turned red. She was highly embarrassed. How long had Jack been inside the room? She turned the water off and reached for her towel. She wrapped the towel around her body and poked her head from behind the curtain. "Jack, how long have you been here?" Jill quizzed Jack.Jack smiled back at her, "Just long enough."
