After planting the seed of doubt in Dimitri's mind, everything played out as planned. He hadn't realized it was Roy with Callista. The anger in his eyes, as he placed me on the couch next to Tanya and Eric, before yanking the pair apart. It was taboo. He wasn't allowed to see Eve or his son, and she couldn't have any physical contact with Roy. It worked. Tanya, Eric, and I left during the argument. I couldn't help but have a victorious smirk which Tanya kept trying to hide while we drove off in my new Rolls Royce. This was one hell of a birthday. It worked out just as I planned. If I'm being honest I became anxious awaiting them to call me. When neither did after two weeks I showed up unannounced to see what destruction had unfolded. "Fuck you!" Callista hollered as I heard shattering glass. I opened without invitation to reveal Callista playing target practice at Dimitri. "You fucking bastard!" she hollered. "Since we lost our baby we haven't cared for one another!" Dimit
"I'll be selling the home and be moving in with Eve and her father by the weekend," Dimitri confirmed, "I apologize for not calling. I've been sleeping with one eye open since your birthday." "Sorry," I lied with a devious smile. "Are you? Why did you do that?" he demanded, "Don't lie to me." "You deserve to be happy like anyone else," I embellished. He did though, "When Zeus and I fucked I saw the love in your eyes for her. You tried to care. Act like you didn't want her. I knew better." He looked puzzled, almost confused. That's right. This twenty-five-year-old played you like a fiddle and you had no idea. That evil voice crept into my mind once more. "Let me fuck you one last time," he pleaded. Dimitri pleading? This was way too easy. He seized me within his grasp without hesitation. I knew what he wanted. What he wanted was me. He needed to forget about everything and lose himself inside of me. I knew this kiss. This was the first kiss we shared when I lost my virgi
No. No. No. What the hell? There's no way I could be pregnant. I sped to the store flying through several stop signs without hesitation. My nerves are working on overdrive. The panic I can feel rising with each passing second made everything worse. I gripped my steering wheel tighter while trying to take even steady breaths. I don't know anything for certain yet. Now I'm almost home and we can figure out this ridiculous accusation Dimitri made. It's possible he's upset and took out his frustration on me with a lie. He doesn't seem like the type to lie though. Why was everything becoming so fucked up! "Stupid bitch!" I slapped the steering wheel angrily. I ran up the stairs as fast as my legs would take me, desperate to pee on this stick. I never thought I'd think that. Waiting is the worst of it all. I fumbled my keys and dropped them repeatedly attempting to unlock my front door. "Fuck!" I cried while pounding my fists into my front door. I pressed my head against the col
"Blank?! What the fuck is blank?!" I shouted angrily. "Everything okay?" Zeus asked. I covered my mouth. Fuck I forgot he was here. I threw the test back into the sink. If I could smash it to pieces I would. Why did he need to be here right now? It's okay. I can take the other one once he leaves. Sure my nerves will be shot, but I'll know. I gathered myself before exiting the bathroom. "Sorry," I shook my head while holding my phone in my hand, "I've been waiting for a response and I hadn't realized I never sent the message in the first place." He cracked a smile, "Really?" "Yes," I lied, "Now how will I be compensated? I'm not saying yes, but Dimitri and Callista were a lot to handle. I don't need that bullshit in my life." His look turned from kind to dominant. More endearing and devouring than Dimitri's. His age certainly showed. He slowly closed the gap between us. "What did you have in mind?" he asked. I bit my bottom lip while playing with the ends of my long ha
"I want to meet this, Zeus," Tanya said firmly, placing her drink on the bartop, "Now that Roy no longer has use for me, I have to find some way to spend my free time." Guilt struck me, "I'm sorry." "It's not your fault," she shrugged. Yes, it was. We cheered before downing our shots of whiskey. The sweet burn made the confusion and frustration go away. "Are you crying because you'll miss their money?" Tanya commented. "What are you talking about?" I asked. "Your eyes are swollen, beautiful," she clarified while gently caressing my temple. I wish I could tell you. I can't let myself feel it. I have to numb myself. When I saw that my other pregnancy test was missing I couldn't help but hint that Zeus had it. My other test had the same result. I think the package I bought may have expired. I hadn't bothered to check with how much I was panicking. I'm going to the doctor on Monday. I'll know for certain then. Only then will I let myself handle it. "You know it," I lied.
When exiting the car, Zeus's mansion looked even grander in the sunlight. I hadn't realized it was more of a castle. It was stacked five stories high, and the dark hand-placed stones shined with vintage authenticity. It is breathtaking, from the six-foot-long double windows to the grand double-entry front doors—the dark cherry wood with red with vintage gold knockers. This place must have been worth a fortune. Were we still in New York? Or is this Canada? I fell asleep both times on the journey up here from the distance. Both doors opened before I went to the front, and Zeus appeared behind them. Was he waiting for me at the door like a puppy? The excitement in his eyes when he saw me was almost cute. Still, his eyes weren't smiling like his lips were. It's as if it was all practiced over and over again. How many times have you faked that smile? How many women have fallen for it? How naive did you think I was? I knew you saw the pregnancy test, but I didn't know how to approach the
"Ivy!" a deep, muffled voice brought me out of the darkness "Ivy!" My body began shaking from side to side, "Ivy!" I felt a hard smack on my cheek, jolting me awake. I blinked away the blurriness in my eyes to reveal Zeus leaning over me. "W-what happened?" I croaked. "You fainted," Zeus stated, "I didn't know you could get any paler than you naturally are, but you looked like a ghost." I felt a deep tug within me, followed by a sharp pain around my hip. I glanced down to see the color of my skin turning different deep shades of purple and blue. I must have hit the ground hard. I tried sitting up but instantly felt dizzy, having to sit back down. "Easy," Zeus warranted, "You hit the ground hard. It was as if your soul left your body." Confused, I blinked, "I'm sorry, I never meant for you to deal with that." "You're apologizing for fainting?" he commented. Knock, Kock, Knock "Come in," Zeus invited. A woman carrying a large tray of fresh fruit and a charcuterie
I leaned into the warmth of his massive hand with a smile. He had just taken care of me and didn't have to. He could have gotten angry and returned the money, but he didn't. He cared for me and expressed it with his actions. He didn't have to feed and help me with my hip, but he did without hesitation. "I don't know if I can physically handle it," I whispered with heavy-lidded eyes, "My hip." "Don't worry," Zeus hushed while pressing his forehead to mine, "I won't hurt you." With a final breath, I felt his lips on mine. Not rough like Dimitri, but gentle like waves on the beach. He began caressing my face with the hand I leaned into, firm yet kind, while guiding me gently back onto the bed. He embraced me, slowly easing me down, being sure not to hurt me. The way he made sure I was okay helped me surrender myself to him. I may not know him well, but how he's been today gave me some form of comfort. Right now, I needed comfort. His hand lightly caressed my thighs as my skirt fel
