"So... you sure you guys are as happy as you said?"

I turned to look at Wes, not in the mood for his comments about commitment being stupid. I gave him an unamused look. "Don't start."

Wes only shrugged nonchalantly. His features softened as he continued to peer at me, lightly narrowing his eyes. "Seems like there's trouble in paradise. Help me understand why you're dating an asshole like him."

I scoffed, offering him a small grin. "Who do you want me to date? An asshole like you?"

"Hey," Wes frowned dramatically. "I may be an asshole in some ways but I would never treat you the way he does."

For some reason, Wes's words warmed my heart but I chose to ignore that feeling.

"He's not that bad," I mumbled sheepishly, avoiding Wes's gaze. "He's just... tired, having a bad day."

Wes rolled his eyes, making it very evident that he didn't buy my words. "Sure."

I ignored Wes, figuring he would head his own way as soon as we exited the dormitory building but he didn't.

"Uh..." I stopped to look at him. "Are you planning on following me all day?"

Wes chuckled softly, his eyes lit with amusement. "Nope but you are coming with me to the cafe."

I raised my eyebrows, confused. "I am?"

"Lover boy of yours didn't seem to mind us spending some quality time together so why not? Let's go see these match-making skills of yours." His lips danced with a grin as he tilted his head to the side, motioning for me to come along with him.

I gaped at him. "You're not being serious."

Wes chuckled softly. "But I am, sweetheart. You're my new wing-man. Or wing-woman if that's what you'd prefer."

Somehow, I gave in and allowed Wes to drag me to the local cafe that was always filled with college students either hanging out or studying.

After scanning the scene, I decided 'what the hell' and took the role of Wes's wingman.

I didn't have any other plans and so far, he wasn't turning out to be the worst company so we could have a little fun with this. I didn't mind the challenge of finding him a girl.

I sat in a booth by myself, drinking coffee and scrolling through twitter to pass time. Hardly twenty minutes passed when Wes slid back into the booth. He sat across from me, a hard scowl on his face.

I quirked an eyebrow, "Back so soon?"

Wes glared at me, a dull look on his face. "Is this what you call match-making, Fia? I am deeply disappointed in your lack of skills."

I gaped at him, pouting out my bottom lip. "Hey! What was wrong with Amy? She seemed so nice."

Wes rolled his eyes, slumping in the seat. "All she would talk about was how cool the Pythagorean theory is. Does it look like I have any interest in talking about math theories?"

I couldn't help but laugh, placing a comforting hand on top of his. "Hey, that was only the first try. We'll find you a wife at some point."

Wes rolled his eyes at me, scoffing. "The only girl I will marry is Jessica Alba."

I quirked an eyebrow, amused. "In that case, let me know if you ever run into Bradley Cooper."

Wes failed to bite back his amusement as he laughed deeply. "Let's make a deal. In the next 11 years, if we're not married to Jessica Alba and Bradley Cooper, do me a favour and just marry me."

I bit down on my lip, stopping myself from reading further into his words. I raised my eyebrows, "I think I'd have more luck as a one-night stand. Marriage is far too much commitment for you, Wes."

Wes's lips turned into a soft smirk, a glint of amusement glowing in his eyes. "You telling me I have a solid chance of getting you naked for me, Fia?"

I scoffed loudly, letting out a laugh as I frantically shook my head. I quickly moved my hand away from his. "In your dreams, Wes."

Wes sighed dramatically. "Trust me, a boy will dream."

I bit down on the inside of my cheek to contain the fuzziness that was exploding in my stomach. I would never go for a guy like Wes. As fun as he my be to have around, I would never date him because he's not someone who would take a relationship seriously and with his reputation, I don't know how I would trust him.

For some reason, when he said certain things, I would start to feel flustered and fidgety. It confused me but it had to be because things were so off and weird with Nate that receiving all these compliments and attention from Wes was making me squeamish. My boyfriend wasn't doing so, so hearing Wes say these things just make me squirm.

Wes helped himself to my coffee as he sipped on it. "Can I ask you a question?"

I nodded, pushing away all my thoughts as I noticed Wes's voice go more serious.

He looked at me with soft eyes for a moment before narrowing his eyes. "Why are you with Nate?"

I blinked, not expecting that. "I already told yo-"

"No," he cut me off. "I believed that until I saw how he acted towards you. He was being an asshole. Maybe you were happy at one point but from the look on your face back in the dorm, you clearly aren't right now."

Wes seemed confused and in thought but for a moment I saw a hint of sadness flash across his eyes.

I sighed. I didn't know if I wanted to open up to Wes about this. "We're... we're fine. Nate and I are good. He's just been distracted and busy lately so he's been distant but we're fine."

Wes gave me a look of disbelief. "Or maybe it's just not working out anymore and you don't want to admit that."

I bit down on my lip as I considered what he was saying. Maybe he was right. "Wes... you don't bail from a relationship just because there's a bump in the road."

Wes heaved out a breath, leaning back. "Fine, change the subject now. But," he looked at me pointedly. "I hope you know you deserve better than him, Fia."

I bit the inside of my cheek as I smiled softly, heat creeping up my neck at his comment. I couldn't help but feel sad that Wes said so.

I didn't want to hear that I deserved better than what I was getting in my relationship. That made me feel disappointed in myself and more hurt by Nate.

On the other hand, I was starting to sense that Wes was more than he showed on the surface.

"You warm my heart, Wes."

Wes grinned but from the look in his eyes, he couldn't tell if I was being sarcastic or not. "I'm going to go buy another coffee so I don't drink all of yours." He stood, turning to look at me. "Want anything?"

I smiled, shaking my head no and then watched him walk off.

If I knew I would be sitting in a cafe with Wes Hamilton earlier today, I would have laughed at the idea but now, I didn't even want to leave.

I stirred when I felt myself moving. I slowly blinked my eyes open, squinting to adjust to the lighting."Hey Fi," Wes spoke quietly, a small smile on his lips as he looked down at me. "I should try your hangover remedies."Michelle grinned as she took a seat on my bed. "So..." she mumbled suggestively in a tone I did not like. "Wes, huh?"I blinked, placing my coffee cup down.
