Chapter 5 Cave

Bella woke up and felt pain all over her body. "Maybe I should buy a carpet....." She sat on the floor and analyzed what happened. She peeks at her space to check if everything was alright.

"!!!!!" The books are gone! Inside she can see the soil, chick, fish, and the spring. Where did they go? Even the feed is missing. Feeling another headache coming, but she forced herself to calm down. She tried thinking of a book, “Poof!” It pops on her hands! Her jaw falls, closes her eyes, and explores the space. It seems nothing changed. Her attention turns on the waterfalls. It was not high, but if you look closer, there seems to be a cave beside it!!!! She closes her eyes and investigates the cave. All the books and items were there! Smiling from ear to ear, she’s overjoyed! So, the space upgraded? It’s very convenient, but what about those large objects like cars? Can they fit? More questions bombarded her brain. It looks like it needs further exploration and experiments.

'How did it happen?' Discovering its cause can be beneficial to her, plus it’s exciting to see more amazing changes. As of now, it seems the space is getting better. Holding her chin, she noticed the bluestone on the ring was gone!!!!

'Wait, what? It was the ring?' She felt odd that it was somehow connected to her. 'Maybe, just maybe, it needed those stones to improve the space?! Omg!!!! If there were others???!!! How does it work? What kind of stones are they? Well, I need to find some to try out.' She had a hunch that somehow, her emotions triggered them. For now, she needs to rest and hide the idea at the back of her mind.

The next day, she went to see the warehouse. Bella paid the lease for a year, got the keys, and went home. Then she called some food suppliers and ordered a lot of canned goods, snacks, rice, and crates of bottled water,' for trading in the future of course'. After giving the address of the warehouse, they agreed for the delivery to be in two days.

Another task would be to do tests on the water in space. Since it’s still uncertain if it is safe to drink, buying a solar-powered water filter would be on the list. She also made an appointment with some seed manufacturers and told them about her plans to plant these on her farm outside the city. It’s rare to receive a generous customer, so they shut their mouths even though they were curious. Her purchase also includes large empty bags for future harvest. Additional baskets, ready-made grass, and natural fertilizers because it needs more time before collecting animal dung.

She also ordered from companies that sell commercial size and normal generators, solar panels, and water mills for power supply. Because of these, gasoline and diesel are essential. Since she also needed them for the cars, a larger quantity must be stocked.

The next day she left for the rental company and rented a large container truck. To keep the goods, it’s better to drive to a deserted place then dump them stealthily into space. She drove to the farm, took all the seeds available, vegetables on vases, and fruit trees that are waist-high. It couldn't fit in the truck in one go, so she made numerous trips back and forth.

Even if she has books, it's best to learn from experience. So she made an appointment to come in her free time and learn how to operate the farm. Since she made a big purchase, the owner agreed right away.

The sky was already dark. On the way home, she passed by an abandoned house near the farm, and the gate was open. The truck stopped, then she tried calling. When no one answers, she peeks inside. It was empty! Perfect for her experiment. She aims to move it into her space. But...failed. A little disappointed, she parked the truck beside the rented warehouse and went home.

This morning she ran around for an hour, ate breakfast, and took a bath. She made a deal with manufacturers and acquired farm tools and equipment, building tools like hammers, saw, step-ladders, electric drill, bolts, screws, screwdrivers, wrenches, wheelbarrows, ready-made sheds, and barrels, etc.

Also bought beds, bedsheets, quilts, pillows, sewing machines, clothes, kitchenware, etc. Additional all season clothes, jackets that could fit her, Adelle, and Uncle Belden. She added other sizes for her parents and future comrades, just in case. Shoes, boots, tents, portable lights, flashlights, also baby stuff, like clothes, bottles, cribs, etc. 'ehem' Since she wants to change her future, why not prepare in advance? The weather will be a mess in the apocalypse, so "too much" doesn't exist. These will be delivered in three to four days and different hours.

Later, she also ordered fences and a small excavator so she could install them and dig ponds where they could raise fish, shrimps, and crabs. These will be delivered next week.

After that, Bella went outside and ate dinner. While walking, she passed by a store dedicated to cosplayers. There was a plastic sword in the window. Thinking about the weapons, it would be nice to have some army knives and samurai swords....

Now it’s time to think about houses and cars. Because her experiment failed, she had a hunch that those mobile houses would be the solution. Browsing the net, after two hours she found the place. It needs months to build from scratch, so she fixed an appointment to see some models and order them as soon as possible.

When Uncle Belden told her about the cars, she didn't want to use them immediately because there’s no parking space. Since she plans to invite Adelle, maybe she can convince her to move in with her. Alright, It's time to get a new house!
