Chapter 21

Seth POV

Just as I saw Lorena's startled expression due to my sudden action, to be honest, it made me feel impulsive. I almost couldn't control myself, so I made an excuse to leave. Who could have imagined that when I came back, she was already unconscious on the ground.

I rushed over to check her breathing, but immediately noticed that her body temperature was unusually high and she was breathing rapidly. Looking at her, I started to feel a bit parched myself.

Uh-oh, she's going into the heat.

I'm still not sure what caused her to suddenly be in this state. All I know is that there was no natural attraction between us as mates. We were forced into this arrangement, so there shouldn't be any desire for each other.

But I didn't have time to think. I picked up Lorena and ran to my car downstairs. The best thing to do now is to go home, of course not my own home.
