"You killed him." The words slipped out impulsively before my brain could filter them. Immediately, I questioned whether I had been too callous, too direct in acknowledging the stark reality of the situation. Madalina's response came in the form of a sob, her face buried within her hands as though seeking refuge from the weight of the consequences.

"I-I only tried to defend myself." She whispered. At that moment, despite the horrible appearance of the situation, I sensed the truth in her words. I had no idea why Henry decided to hunt her down and yet his actions tragically resulted in the loss of life.

"It must have been his wolf's rage that drove him. Remember what Theo said? Our mate hit Imogen." Remy interjected, attempting to shed some light on Henry's motivations.
