My father was not the only person who admired Jace. Even the elders and their sons and daughters. My two other hidden colleagues as well. And even me.

When I was chosen I made up my mind that I would serve Jace well and that even though he don't like me he will have no mind to switch me even if he wants to. I had little knowledge of why he switched to Mason. It's not a secret in the family how Jace likes Mason as a brother and practically takes Mason along everywhere he goes, even in things that have nothing to do with the protector's work, but it was later discovered that Mason was hiding a lot of secrets from Jace, that after Jace found out he still refuses to speak making Jace so angry. As the head, he has every right to know what he wants to know as he has the right to dismiss Mason's family from the Lorrids and send them on their way. But it was said that he didn't do that was because not only was Mason his protector but Mason's father is also Jace's father's protector
