I heard the door to the infirmary snick closed. Except for Aeron, who was now a resident of La-La land, it was just Lukas and I. Squeezing my eyes shut against the surge of magic that pushed through the room, I held my body as still as humanly possible.

Even my wolf inside me was searching for some relief. He was pushing at my skin in a way I've never felt before.

Hard, warm hands slid over my bare arms.

My eyes flew open. Bright blue eyes were holding my gaze. "How bout it, mate? Want to ride the wave?"

Oh, Gaia, did I want to ride him on that wave. But I wasn't going to have my first time with him be because of some fluke magic surge. My hormones didn't do my thinking for me. At least not anymore.

He palmed my steel-hard cock. The low greedy sound that emerged from his throat had the base of my spine tingling. Before I could stop it, my hips were thrusting against his hand.

"That's the way, luv."

I jerked back, careful to keep from touching him any more than I had

"I swear to Gaia, if I'm fucking stuck like this, shit is going to rain down on everyone's head," I yelled to the ceiling. Silence was my answer. Taryk had run up here, blaring the Code Sexy Times from Hell alarm. I slammed the door and barricaded myself into my home. Made sure to triple-check the line of locks running down the side of my door. With no extra vajayjay in this place, I was keeping to myself. My hand would do well enough in a pinch. And I definitely wasn't a switch hitter like Atlas, the lucky bastard. By the time the magic swelled and hit me like a fucking tractor trailer, I had my pants around my ankles and one lubed up hand ready to fucking go. I hadn't expected that hand, or any of my limbs, to get stuck in between human and bear. I'd almost sliced off my dick. Only the tingling in my palms let me know something was up. One minute I'm primed and ready, the next I'm screaming like a little girl as I see five sharp claws near my favorite appendage. I n

"Ten, do you know how to call Anda?" I asked as Saint and I settled on the couch. I think we were going to have to replace the bed. I couldn't stand to even have it in the same room. I couldn't imagine what my guys thought about it."No, beloved. She has always shown herself when she was ready. You've summoned her. Can you repeat the process?" he asked from their shared body. I shrugged. "I can try.""Before we get into that, let's get some food. I'm starving, I can only imagine how you're feeling right now."I rubbed a hand over my belly. "I could eat." "Wonderful." He rose from the couch, held out a hand. It reminded me of when Ransom had done the same thing back in the cabin. Had that only been a couple weeks ago? It felt like years. I reached out, slid my palm against his. The feel of his skin along mine brought a rush of not only desire but love. I was turning into a touch addict and I didn't fucking care who knew it. Saint helped pull me from the couch. Tuggi

"Elm and Oak are clear, bro. Try Birch. I've got a weak heat signature," Xander called over the ear piece of our tactical comms. "Copy that. Heading to Birch." I took the next turn in the big black vehicle. The ten block radius surrounding our warehouse and labs was empty. No one person, not one piece of trash, not a single animal was out here. "Hey, did you experience any...difficulties...with your animal during that last magic surge?" I asked, trying to keep my voice even, easy.Xander snorted in my ear. "Sure. If you experiencing difficulties means my tiger trying to hump me and jump my bones, then yeah."I cough-laughed. The sound getting stuck in my throat. "Junior tried to molest you?"He groaned. "Seriously, man? He needs a better name than Junior. And yes. He tried to get all up in my biz-nas.""That's fucked up, bro.""No shit, Ash. Not to mention it raises a number of philosophical questions for me.""Like what?"I could imagine him rolling his dark brown-

I woke up to the sound of someone creeping down the alleyway. The person was a bit more skilled at being sneaky than the average homeless person. In my mind's eye, I could almost see him...or her. Weight resting on the balls of the feet, knees bent just the slightest degree, arms hanging ready to fight or defend. I knew what skills were needed. What stealthy looked like, especially on the streets. You learned early or you died early. Markus had always said that. Before he died too early. "Hey there," the male voice said. I stilled, cringed. Not that I would have chosen one over the other, but at least with a woman I would've had a sliver of a chance at survival. Men, in my experience, only wanted one thing. And they would do anything to get it. "Hey there, little fella. I'm not going to hurt you," the man said in a soothing tone. "I'm just going to get you out of there. My friend - well, one of my brothers, really - he loves animals. He can get you fixed right up." I bri

I jumped forward just as Cherry collapsed. Her knees dropping her into my human arms. "The fuck is going on, Ash? Why were you in bear form? Who's the lady? What's wrong with her legs? What the fuck smells so damned good?" Xander asked the last question as he came to a halt just out of reach. I bared my teeth at him. "Don't come any closer."He rocked back on his heels, hands up in surrender. "Asher? You okay, brother?"Kiema and Saint came up behind him. "Asher, is she okay?" Kiema asked. I tightened my hold on Cherry as Kiema came near us. I growled at her low in my throat. She stopped, slapped a hand against my head. "Don't you growl at me, big brother. What happened to her?"Saint stepped forward as well. His growl was equal to my own. "Stay back, Saint. I don't know what's wrong with me, but I can't have you near her," I said softly. Kiema gasped. She squatted down so she was eye to eye with me. She rested her hand on my naked shoulder. "Asher. You okay?

Unfamiliar voices filtered through the black that held me captive. I cringed inwardly. Bad things happened in the black. Monsters wearing the faces of friends hovered over you and hurt you. Hurt your body. I pushed through the obsidian. I had to wake up. Had to protect myself. At least if I was conscious, I could float away. Keep my mind safe. Having the choice to leave was always better than waking up in the dark. "Scarlet, honey, can you hear me?" a soft feminine voice asked. Something about it made me think of sunshine and meadows. I felt warm and safe listening to that voice. "I don't know if she's awake, Asher," Sunshine said. A masculine rumble came from farther away. "No. You stay over there."The deep rumble got a little louder. "I don't fucking care what you want. You stay over there until she's awake and can make the decision for herself. Saint, you watch him," Sunshine said. Asher? The bear man was here? The newcomers hadn't killed him? Something insid

I wasn't quite sure what I was expecting when I touched Scarlet, but I could definitely identify with what I saw inside her. Her colors were a kaleidoscope of pinks, purples, reds, ands violets. As I looked a little deeper, I noticed what looked like a mirror. I could see a wispy, smokey version of myself inside her. I hadn't tried to heal anyone since my ascension, but something inside me just knew what I was seeing. What I was feeling. It came as simple understanding. The explanation of that mirror-like finish rushed over me like a gentle breeze on a spring afternoon. She was broken. Almost as broken as the rest of us, if not a little more. She'd had no one, just like me. But there were parts and pieces of her that remembered better times. A close-knit group of people who helped her, like my men. When I saw what needed healing, I felt the tears rush to my eyes. I had done this to her. This magic that was too big for my body. Too big for my experience. Too big for me to handl

"Well, anything else to say for yourself?" I asked Aeron. He shook his head, his purple eyes a little hazy with sedation. I wasn't sure how much was medication and how much was because of Kiema playing in his head. I'm pretty sure I didn't care either way. "Why did you save me again? Especially if you are the ones who shot me." He looked up at the four of us standing around his exam table like a barricade. "Because we didn't kill you. We don't leave our enemies to suffer," I answered. He nodded. But more, it seemed, because it was expected. Not because he agreed with our philosophy. "All right. We'll get you back to Iron Serpent," I said. He wrenched back into the upright table. "I'm not telling you where they are. Fuck you, and the high horse you rode in on. I'm grateful you patched me up, but that doesn't mean I'm going to turn traitor on the people who saved me and my mate."I hid the fury that wanted to break free of my control. I'd known this guy was trouble. I

Three months later"And I'm telling you right now, dad, that if you want to ever see these babies, you'll stop sending my mates to the Underworld for a ‘cooling off' period. That shit is getting old," I said as I waddled into the hospital built for gods and demi-gods. He chuckled beside me. "But, bubbles, they deserved it. Crowing like they built Olympus bare handed. They were getting on your Circle's nerves. I could tell." He said as he lifted me into the bed. "Bring them back, dad. Now." I glared at him. Even though, on the inside, I was smiling like a loon. This was the type of relationship I'd always dreamed of having with a father. He sighed, a smirk still pulling at his mouth. With a snap, my three mates stumbled into the room."Damn it, Apollo," Saint said as he flicked his shirt. "Cerberus almost got me that time."My dad's head tipped back as he laughed and laughed. The babies inside me loved that sound. They kicked at my belly. I rubbed at the spot. "Easy

Six months later"Last time, I'll ask. I swear." Kiema swallowed heavily as she moved around behind me. "You promise you're okay not getting your deer back?" Kiema asked me as flicked the fabric of my dress this way and that to get it to lay perfectly.I waited until she looked up at me. That look of slight hesitation on her face tugged at my heart. "I promise. I was never meant to be a deer. A shifter of any kind."She nodded, sniffled quietly. "You ready for the rest of this then?" Kiema asked me as she adjusted the crown of flowers in my hair. "So much more than ready. I've been waiting for this my entire life." I bit back the tears that wanted to flood my throat. Not today. I wouldn't ruin this day with tears. She smiled as she stepped back. "You look beautiful, little sister." Tears gathered in her eyes. I held up a hand, looked at the ceiling. "Don't do that. The next night"Wake up, Saint," I said softly in our shared consciousness. I could barely contain myself. I had felt the swell of magic. Had felt it when it took root."Saint," I said again. The man slept like a rock at the bottom of a spring. "Mgmgs," he mumbled.Forcing our arm to move, I slapped our face. He shot up, his teeth bared. "Who's there?" he called out. "It's me, you buffoon," I said. Our head cocked to the side. "Ten? Why are you waking me up? Can't whatever it is wait until morning?" He snuggled back down into the comfortable bed in our new home. "No." I shook our head so he would fully wake up. "Wake up!"He sat up, pulling the blankets with him. "I'm awake. What can't wait until the morning, Ten?""Kiema is pregnant.""WHAT THE FUCK!?"I snickered as everyone in the room burst from the bed, fists and knives raised in defense. "What is it?" Ransom's head turned back and forth quickly, visually sweeping the room. With a grunt at its emp

Two weeks later"Are we finally going to try this? We've been prepping for what feels like forever." I licked my way up Saint's neck. He shivered as his fingers curled into the flesh of my ass. "Maybe we should wait one more day. I don't want to hurt you."I rolled my eyes under the cover of my closed lids. This man. So dominant. So caring. So sure I wasn't ready to take one of them in my ass. I guess I'll just have to show him that I was more than ready.I slid down his body. A wave of magic and all of us were naked as the day we were born. As I sucked his cock into my mouth, Kord came up behind me.Curling around my back, he pinched my nipples with one hand. With his other, he slid a hand down my belly and straight over my clit. With a sharp movement, his fingers were deep inside me. I groaned around Saint's dick as waves of pleasure washed over me. Sprinkled with the counterpoints of pain from Kord getting my nipples ready for the clover clamps. I felt my core cream at

The next day"Torture and then straight back to bed. I don't care that your father is the god of healing. This is ridiculous, Kiema," Atlas said as we stood in the elevator on our way to the basement level."Don't get trapped in the dungeons," Apollo had said as he laid his palm against the electronic plate on the wall of the elevator.Right. Dungeons in a god hospital. Gods were freaking weird.I patted his cheek. "I've got my main medical provider right next to me. I'll be fine. Besides I feel like a million bucks."He huffed a laugh as Mason and Lukas came up beside him. I wiggled my eyebrows at Atlas, looked over his shoulder, back to his face.He chuckled and rolled his eyes. "Yes, little sister. We've decided to try being a thruple."I wrinkled my nose. "What kind of word is thruple?""A three-person couple, luv," Lukas answered. I snorted. I pushed the other two through the doors. I wasn't waiting another minute to see my girl. I'd felt her die. Felt my spirit try to follow her down that long tunnel. My heart had stopped beating when I saw Heppni literally rip her heart from her chest and crush it. But here we were. Alive. Healing. She was pale against the bright white sheets of the hospital bed. Although it was unlike any hospital I'd ever been in. Apollo said something about it being a place for gods and goddesses. I shook my head. It didn't matter to me what it was as long as it made her better. She looked over as we rushed in. Her eyes searched each one of us before returning to me. Tears flooded her eyes as I pulled her into my arms. We all sat on the bed, curled and huddled together while she got it all out. The guys and I had had some truly brutal boxing matches to deal with our own emotions. I was still achy and sore from a couple of well-placed hits from Kord. The man might be a nerdy librarian, b

My chest hurt. I tried to rub it, but my arms were restrained. "Easy there, bubbles. You'll pull your stitches if you do that," a man said. His voice was soft and melodious. Like listening to angels sing. Angels. Something about that word tickled my brain.Angel. Almost. Almost.Ransom. As soon as I thought his name, his face popped into my brain. I tried to sit up. Made it a couple inches before I was pushed back to the bed beneath me. I opened my eyes. Ignoring the stabbing pain that slid into my eyeballs, I blinked to clear my vision. A bright white room greeted me. The only color in it was the man who had a hand against my chest. I looked down at his hand. Looked up at his face. Raised an eyebrow. "Get the fuck off, perv. My mates will rip you to shreds."He huffed a laugh and removed his hand. "I doubt your mates will be doing much more than breathing for a couple more hours, but I'm glad to see that you're back, bubbles. Have a nice nap?" I leaned ba

Everyone Hellion had made me vow to keep alive fell to the ground as if they were puppets and their strings had been cut. Fuck, fuck, fuck. I hurried to the closest one's side. Pushed two fingers to his neck. Gone. I was so fucking dead. I blasted an oncoming human with a burst of magic. He withered where he stood. I sank to my knees next to the small woman with bright white hair. She was gone as well. The woman with the long brown hair threw her blade into an approaching Direct. It sliced through him like he was air. With wild eyes, she didn't even try to gather the particles of his passing. She pushed me aside as she cradled the smaller woman to her chest. "No no no not my baby no no no please no no," she wailed. Her agonized scream was muffled against the smaller woman's head. The rest of the humans who had interrupted our plans were either dead or falling back the way they'd come. Movement drew my eye. I squinted as I tracked it across the street. It wa

I sent another stream of fiery magic at the Direct who thought to protect my mother. Some pansy-assed gifted asshole wasn't going to stop me from hunting my mother down and killing her. With a wave of my hand, a path cleared. With a curl of my fist, humans fell to the ground, their spines crumbled into dust. "I'm coming for you, Herpes," I screamed at the top of my lungs. She scurried away, down the side street towards the fighting arena I'd created for us to use for practice. I picked up my pace and followed her. "You better be fucking careful, honey," Saint said through my head. He was working with Arasne and Felix at the opening of the street where the humans were still grouped. The Faeries had set up a blockade of sorts, forcing the humans into a bottleneck situation. They were taken down one by one as Ransom had his horde of beasts funneled them through the line of magical warriors. "Always, Saint baby. See you in a bit." I rushed down the street Herpes had
