"Well, anything else to say for yourself?" I asked Aeron.

He shook his head, his purple eyes a little hazy with sedation. I wasn't sure how much was medication and how much was because of Kiema playing in his head. I'm pretty sure I didn't care either way.

"Why did you save me again? Especially if you are the ones who shot me." He looked up at the four of us standing around his exam table like a barricade.

"Because we didn't kill you. We don't leave our enemies to suffer," I answered.

He nodded. But more, it seemed, because it was expected. Not because he agreed with our philosophy.

"All right. We'll get you back to Iron Serpent," I said.

He wrenched back into the upright table. "I'm not telling you where they are. Fuck you, and the high horse you rode in on. I'm grateful you patched me up, but that doesn't mean I'm going to turn traitor on the people who saved me and my mate."

I hid the fury that wanted to break free of my control. I'd known this guy was trouble. I

Something was eating at Taryk as he steered the military vehicle out of the bay doors. Lukas was in the back with both Aeron and Juan. He was keeping his hand on the first, and his eyes on the second. The latter wasn't going to be making any moves. Not if he wanted to make it beyond our walls alive. Taryk had done a fabulous job of showing him what awaited him if Juan pulled any shit on the drive. I enjoyed the fear that lived in Juan's eyes as he was frog-walked into the bay. His eyes had lit on me and I could have sworn the man peed his pants. He shrank away, sniveling and sniffling. Practically crawled up into T's arms. I wish I could share mental pictures with Kiema. My angel would have been proud of her torturous work with her father. Nor do I think this would have hurt her soul like stomping the shit out of him had. "All clear, T. No bogeys beyond the wall," Xander said over the earpieces."Copy that. Delivery in two minutes," Taryk answered. In no time at all, w

You better have your shit under control when Ransom gets here, Ash. He's pissed that you threatened Kiema, I said down our twin pathway.I did no such thing. Why the fuck did you throw me under the bus like that? He said.I rocked back in my chair. He's fucking with me, surely. Are you fucking high right now? You said if something happened to the girl, that you were coming for Kiema. The fuck you say. I would never do something like that to Ki-Ki. I could hear the anger and offense ringing in his voice. Could he be this far gone over this chick? He didn't even know that he'd gotten in Kiema's face. I switched to a different keyboard and screen. Hitting keys faster than lighting strikes, I pulled up and copied the cam feed outside the conference room on the first floor. I winced when I saw my twin loom over the woman we considered our baby sister. Ransom was going to throw a shit storm of epic proportions. I backed up the feed. Saint was a hair's breadth away from ripp

I stumbled back under the lash of Xander's mental volley. I was reminding him of our father? I flinched; the breath knocked from my chest. "Asher?" Kiema pushed forward, arms outstretched. "You okay, big brother?"I nodded, unable to find any words. Cherry was standing at the far end of the table, looking bright and shiny as a new coin. "I'm golden." I turned away from them. I hadn't been dressed down like that by Xander in years. I needed a minute. I heard Cherry say something to Kiema behind me. I couldn't stay there and listen to whatever it was. I had to get out. I needed air. Space. Ransom walked through the doors.I knew immediately that he believed I'd gotten in Ki-Ki's face. Why the fuck he would think I'd do such a thing was un-fucking-believable. Saint would have ripped me apart had I done something so stupid. "Conference room. Now." His tone was glacier cold. His dark blue eyes held my death if I didn't do what he said. I nodded, turned back around.

I hoped to Gaia that Scarlet didn't feel the overwhelming rush of emotions all day, every day. I wanted to rip my head off and throw it in the ocean, I had so much information running around in my head. And most of it wasn't even mine. I reached out, patted her hand. I could feel her fear battering at me. She was terrified that Asher was actually crazy. That she'd begun falling for a man who couldn't be trusted. That she'd linked herself to a group of psychopaths and crazies. "I healed Scarlet today. And when I did, my rune showed back up. Atlas has pictures if anyone is interested in seeing what it actually looks like. I think my power partially turned her. Which resulted in the injury she received. I also think my ascension might have amped up everyone else."I swallowed the nervous giggle that wanted to escape my throat. I wasn't even nervous, but Scarlet sure was. She was about to push up from her chair and run as far and as fast as she possibly could. Only my hand on her k

"You okay, big brother?" Kiema whispered in my ear after a long moment. "Yeah." I felt around inside myself. I hadn't been that fucking scared and pissed off in a long time. It would take me a while to get back in my normal headspace. Whatever Cherry had done when she touched both Ki-Ki and me had taken off the worst edge. I could sort through each individual emotion. Inspect it, see where it fit in the grand scheme of things. I could also see where I'd allowed it to balloon out of control while fear was riding me. My girl sure had some strong ass power going on in her tiny body. With Lukas still touching me, and both Cherry and Ki-Ki filtering my emotions, I could see the bond I already had with the smaller woman. I could also see the line I'd taken into insanity. I had never been selfish with my women, at least not inside my pack. My family. I'd been the one to introduce sharing to all of them. If this is how Saint and Ransom feel about Ki-Ki, then I could see why they we

"Everybody good?" I asked. Nods all around. I looked at the tiny woman sitting next to my angel. My Kiema wasn't a big woman, but she looked massive compared to the small one beside her. "Scarlet. I'm Ransom Kolefni. Welcome to Carbon Pack, Inc. It seems your first day was a bit of a wild ride. I apologize that you got wrapped up in the awkwardness that is our current daily life. I also apologize for thrusting you in the middle of what is essentially a family squabble. But, if you decide to take us on, we're going to be your family, too. So...welcome to the family, sweetheart."I could feel myself rambling but didn't have a way to gracefully exit. I just hoped I hadn't scared the poor thing. Being around her made me feel like I was a giant in a room full of small animals. My animals batted at her scent inside me. They were both repulsed and intrigued by her. "What is her animal?" I asked Kiema.Scarlet's eyes flashed before settling back down. Ah. She does have fire.

These were definitely the weirdest and best people I'd ever met in my life. In the space of an afternoon and evening, I'd been made to feel more loved and accepted than the cumulative whole of anytime preceding this. The oddness and sorrow of that thought had me smiling sadly as I watched Asher cook dinner for everyone. We were on ‘Asher's floor,' where he reigned as ‘king of food.' I didn't know what he was making, but it smelled fantastic. My mouth was watering as I helped set the table. I had no idea what I was doing, but I was following Kiema's lead, so hopefully I didn't make too big of a fool of myself. She sent me a smile and a wink. Sunshine. The woman was fricking sunshine. How she grew up in Feuer Tower and turned into the woman who stood before me was a head scratcher. But by the goddess was I glad she was a good woman. "Hey, sweetie, I'm Taryk," the glowering man with the beautiful brown skin said. His bald head reflected the overhead light. I dipped my head.

"Just over here," Scarlet said in one of the softest voices I'd ever heard in my life. She wasn't being shy or coy. Her voice was just that quiet. I'd had to strain to hear anything she said at the dinner table. I could tell it bothered her, too. Her face would go varying shades of pink or red when someone asked her to repeat herself. A blush would slide over those pink cheeks, a pinch at the corners of those green eyes, and those rosy red lips would pull down at the corners with a grimace. "Sure thing, sweetness." I wanted to punch myself. I'd never had a hard time treating women with the respect they deserved. Or showing that respect. But these two women in my life now, everything in me just wanted to tell and show - hell, I wanted them to feel - how loved they were. After my mother died early from hard work and exhaustion, I never underestimated the power of a woman. Nor had I ever bothered to coddle them. Women were strong in ways men just weren't. I feared Kiema's wrath a

That shit is getting old," I said as I waddled into the hospital built for gods and demi-gods. He chuckled beside me. "But, bubbles, they deserved it. Crowing like they built Olympus bare handed. They were getting on your Circle's nerves. I could tell." He said as he lifted me into the bed. "Bring them back, dad. Now." I glared at him. Even though, on the inside, I was smiling like a loon. This was the type of relationship I'd always dreamed of having with a father. He sighed, a smirk still pulling at his mouth. With a snap, my three mates stumbled into the room."Damn it, Apollo," Saint said as he flicked his shirt. "Cerberus almost got me that time."My dad's head tipped back as he laughed and laughed. The babies inside me loved that sound. They kicked at my belly. I rubbed at the spot. "Easy

Six months later"Last time, I'll ask. I swear." Kiema swallowed heavily as she moved around behind me. "You promise you're okay not getting your deer back?" Kiema asked me as flicked the fabric of my dress this way and that to get it to lay perfectly.I waited until she looked up at me. That look of slight hesitation on her face tugged at my heart. "I promise. I was never meant to be a deer. A shifter of any kind."She nodded, sniffled quietly. "You ready for the rest of this then?" Kiema asked me as she adjusted the crown of flowers in my hair. "So much more than ready. I've been waiting for this my entire life." I bit back the tears that wanted to flood my throat. Not today. I wouldn't ruin this day with tears. She smiled as she stepped back. "You look beautiful, little sister." Tears gathered in her eyes. I held up a hand, looked at the ceiling. "Don't do that. The next night"Wake up, Saint," I said softly in our shared consciousness. I could barely contain myself. I had felt the swell of magic. Had felt it when it took root."Saint," I said again. The man slept like a rock at the bottom of a spring. "Mgmgs," he mumbled.Forcing our arm to move, I slapped our face. He shot up, his teeth bared. "Who's there?" he called out. "It's me, you buffoon," I said. Our head cocked to the side. "Ten? Why are you waking me up? Can't whatever it is wait until morning?" He snuggled back down into the comfortable bed in our new home. "No." I shook our head so he would fully wake up. "Wake up!"He sat up, pulling the blankets with him. "I'm awake. What can't wait until the morning, Ten?""Kiema is pregnant.""WHAT THE FUCK!?"I snickered as everyone in the room burst from the bed, fists and knives raised in defense. "What is it?" Ransom's head turned back and forth quickly, visually sweeping the room. With a grunt at its emp

Two weeks later"Are we finally going to try this? We've been prepping for what feels like forever." I licked my way up Saint's neck. He shivered as his fingers curled into the flesh of my ass. "Maybe we should wait one more day. I don't want to hurt you."I rolled my eyes under the cover of my closed lids. This man. So dominant. So caring. So sure I wasn't ready to take one of them in my ass. I guess I'll just have to show him that I was more than ready.I slid down his body. A wave of magic and all of us were naked as the day we were born. As I sucked his cock into my mouth, Kord came up behind me.Curling around my back, he pinched my nipples with one hand. With his other, he slid a hand down my belly and straight over my clit. With a sharp movement, his fingers were deep inside me. I groaned around Saint's dick as waves of pleasure washed over me. Sprinkled with the counterpoints of pain from Kord getting my nipples ready for the clover clamps. I felt my core cream at

The next day"Torture and then straight back to bed. I don't care that your father is the god of healing. This is ridiculous, Kiema," Atlas said as we stood in the elevator on our way to the basement level."Don't get trapped in the dungeons," Apollo had said as he laid his palm against the electronic plate on the wall of the elevator.Right. Dungeons in a god hospital. Gods were freaking weird.I patted his cheek. "I've got my main medical provider right next to me. I'll be fine. Besides I feel like a million bucks."He huffed a laugh as Mason and Lukas came up beside him. I wiggled my eyebrows at Atlas, looked over his shoulder, back to his face.He chuckled and rolled his eyes. "Yes, little sister. We've decided to try being a thruple."I wrinkled my nose. "What kind of word is thruple?""A three-person couple, luv," Lukas answered. I snorted. I pushed the other two through the doors. I wasn't waiting another minute to see my girl. I'd felt her die. Felt my spirit try to follow her down that long tunnel. My heart had stopped beating when I saw Heppni literally rip her heart from her chest and crush it. But here we were. Alive. Healing. She was pale against the bright white sheets of the hospital bed. Although it was unlike any hospital I'd ever been in. Apollo said something about it being a place for gods and goddesses. I shook my head. It didn't matter to me what it was as long as it made her better. She looked over as we rushed in. Her eyes searched each one of us before returning to me. Tears flooded her eyes as I pulled her into my arms. We all sat on the bed, curled and huddled together while she got it all out. The guys and I had had some truly brutal boxing matches to deal with our own emotions. I was still achy and sore from a couple of well-placed hits from Kord. The man might be a nerdy librarian, b

My chest hurt. I tried to rub it, but my arms were restrained. "Easy there, bubbles. You'll pull your stitches if you do that," a man said. His voice was soft and melodious. Like listening to angels sing. Angels. Something about that word tickled my brain.Angel. Almost. Almost.Ransom. As soon as I thought his name, his face popped into my brain. I tried to sit up. Made it a couple inches before I was pushed back to the bed beneath me. I opened my eyes. Ignoring the stabbing pain that slid into my eyeballs, I blinked to clear my vision. A bright white room greeted me. The only color in it was the man who had a hand against my chest. I looked down at his hand. Looked up at his face. Raised an eyebrow. "Get the fuck off, perv. My mates will rip you to shreds."He huffed a laugh and removed his hand. "I doubt your mates will be doing much more than breathing for a couple more hours, but I'm glad to see that you're back, bubbles. Have a nice nap?" I leaned ba

Everyone Hellion had made me vow to keep alive fell to the ground as if they were puppets and their strings had been cut. Fuck, fuck, fuck. I hurried to the closest one's side. Pushed two fingers to his neck. Gone. I was so fucking dead. I blasted an oncoming human with a burst of magic. He withered where he stood. I sank to my knees next to the small woman with bright white hair. She was gone as well. The woman with the long brown hair threw her blade into an approaching Direct. It sliced through him like he was air. With wild eyes, she didn't even try to gather the particles of his passing. She pushed me aside as she cradled the smaller woman to her chest. "No no no not my baby no no no please no no," she wailed. Her agonized scream was muffled against the smaller woman's head. The rest of the humans who had interrupted our plans were either dead or falling back the way they'd come. Movement drew my eye. I squinted as I tracked it across the street. It wa

I sent another stream of fiery magic at the Direct who thought to protect my mother. Some pansy-assed gifted asshole wasn't going to stop me from hunting my mother down and killing her. With a wave of my hand, a path cleared. With a curl of my fist, humans fell to the ground, their spines crumbled into dust. "I'm coming for you, Herpes," I screamed at the top of my lungs. She scurried away, down the side street towards the fighting arena I'd created for us to use for practice. I picked up my pace and followed her. "You better be fucking careful, honey," Saint said through my head. He was working with Arasne and Felix at the opening of the street where the humans were still grouped. The Faeries had set up a blockade of sorts, forcing the humans into a bottleneck situation. They were taken down one by one as Ransom had his horde of beasts funneled them through the line of magical warriors. "Always, Saint baby. See you in a bit." I rushed down the street Herpes had
