12: Unraveling

“You found it,” Aisling said in a hushed tone as soon as I stepped into the room. She was wearing a rose in her hair and her eyes held her excitement. I shut the door behind me and winced a little as the faint smell of garlic lingered in the air but I had spent enough time outside and even more within these walls with the bulbs that had been replaced so it had little to no effect on me. I smiled wistfully and made my way to the middle of the room where she was standing and took her hand in mine.

She pulled me into a hug and let go as soon as our bodies touched, her eyes shone excitedly as she clapped excitedly then quickly went silent. She smiled as she walked to the bathtub to run a bath and hummed a low tune as she picked up the jars containing oils and dripped some of them into the tub.

“Word travelled as fast as I expected, she told you didn’t she?” I asked as a thin smile spread across my face. I stared at her silhouette and my thoughts drifted to life back
