Chapter 4: Am I pregnant?

After hearing her mother's screams, Chloé came down from her room and when she saw Noah beating her daughter madly, she went inside to stop him from hurting her and when she saw him helping her, Noah shouted at her: "You stay out of it too, you fucking whore! You only help your daughter so that she can bring you money...

After Noah said that to Chloe he pushed her hard and she tripped over Charlotte who was lying on the floor and started to fall as she hit the floor, her head hit the table and she fell unconscious.

When Charlotte saw that her father had done that to her mother, she looked at the couch and saw how her father had his phone on the table, when she saw it she ran to her father's phone and without further ado started to throw things at him while she ran to her room and yelled at him:

- What you are is a fucking murderer, abuser!

His father began to chase him and he locked himself in his room while he took out the paper he had kept in his pocket and when he had it in his hand he began to dial Alejandro's number, after a few seconds he answered, but without letting him speak Charlotte told him:

- I am in trouble please come and help me!

After a long motorcycle ride they were arriving at their destination, it was really far away from Alejandro's home, a little farther than Charlotte expected, but she did not care, she had finally achieved what she had dreamed of after years of mistreatment, abuse and insults.

When they reached the parking lot, Alejandro pointed to the top of the parking lot and said:

- Well, here we are! This is where I live, only now we have to climb the stairs, because there is no elevator in this building, the important thing is that you will love what you enter...

 Alejandro, after telling her this, grabbed Charlotte's hand tightly and started to climb the stairs.

After climbing six floors Charlotte was very tired, but even so it was not long to finish where she was going to start living, she continued climbing until she finally reached the seventh floor where Alejandro took the key to the door and inserted it in the handle, when he had it without the pin he covered Charlotte's eyes and began to open the door slowly, when he had the door open he began to walk covering Charlotte's eyes until he removed his hands from her eyes and shouted loudly:

- Surprise! This will be our home or rather our love nest.

Charlotte was surprised, but not in the most pleasant way, he lived in a very filthy way, he had clothes thrown in several places and he had nothing more than the kitchen and a bathroom, she was somewhat dissatisfied so she smiled in a hypocritical way, she hugged him very tightly while she looked at all the mess although she preferred a thousand times to be in that mess than to endure the blows and the mistreatment of her father and mother.

After this, Charlotte was condemned to a life full of obligations as well as screams, because although Alejandro offered her the sky and the stars, he never really got them down and while what he did was to force her to perform multiple household chores such as cleaning the apartment, he forced her clothes as well as Alejandro's among thousands of things so much so that she had no time to study and that is why she failed her studies, but she still felt in love with this boy who only caused her problems.

Alejandro arrived every day fighting for something new, he never laid a finger on her, but his attitude was not the best, she noticed daily how he reacted, but she preferred to calm down and breathe, since he was the one who fed her and she simply preferred to live with him than to return to the hell of her home.

Several months later she was about to turn fifteen, it was January 2010, just two months before her birthday and after so many months working for a guy who didn't even pay attention to her, she discovered a piece of news that would change her life completely, leaving her upside down.

Charlotte was cleaning the bathroom of the apartment as usual when suddenly she began to have a severe headache, she knew she had nothing to drink and simply decided to continue doing her household chores, After some time cleaning the bathroom her headache continued to increase to such an extent that she lost the lights and tried to get up to go to bed, but when she got up in front of the toilet her body did not react in the best way and she began to get dizzy to such a degree that she simply fell on the floor fainting.

There was no one at the time to help her and take her to a hospital to see what was happening.

After a few minutes Alejandro arrived as usual for lunch, he opened the door and quickly walked in, looked around and saw that Charlotte was nowhere to be found, he said with some anger:

- Now where has that little girl gone! It was the worst idea he could have had to bring her here.

After saying that, he went to the kitchen, it was time for lunch and Charlotte always received him with lunch ready to eat, when he checked the kitchen and saw that nothing was really ready, he wrinkled his face and frowned, his face started to turn red because of the anger he was carrying and in a hostile way he started to shout:

- Charlotte where the fuck did you get to! Goddamn it she wasn't even able to make lunch! What a good for nothing woman, until when am I going to have to calm down all this....

After shouting that, Alejandro went furious to see where his wife was hiding, when he went down the stairs he asked the guard with a surly and somewhat serious tone of voice:

- Good afternoon, my friend! Did you happen to see where my wife went?

When the watchman heard that they were talking to him, he turned his gaze and when he saw that it was Alejandro, with a smile on his face and in a sympathetic way, he answered him:

- His wife?! Well, that girl must be at home, she only goes out to buy food, but I haven't seen her leave here today, so I don't think she's gone out, go and check.

When Alejandro heard this, he arched one of his eyebrows and brought his index finger to his head to start scratching, he did not understand what was happening, but with nothing else to do, he turned around and started to climb the stairs again.

After a while he was already in the place and quickly entered the room again to start checking the whole place, but his surprise was to see Charlotte lying on the floor almost reaching the bathroom, when he saw her he was very surprised and rushed to her side to start slapping her lightly in the face so that she would react, after several minutes she reacted and was when he grabbed her and carried her to take her quickly to the exit and then take her to the hospital.

Charlotte was still not fully aware of what was happening, her eyes were not fully open and everything was blurry, she could only hear the strong voice of her partner Alejandro, who said with a tone of fear and desperation:

- Calm down love, we will soon know what you have, but I know you are healthy my life.

Charlotte closed her eyes and fell unconscious again until she opened her eyes and found herself alone in the hospital, no one was by her side supporting her, she began to look for her partner Alejandro, but as she looked to the sides she could not find anyone, she really felt alone until she saw a nurse walking and with great weakness and a voice all muffled and hoarse from the little strength she had, she began to say:

- Nurse! Nurse! Please come here.

She stopped walking to where she was going and then she looked to the side and found Charlotte beckoning her to come closer, when she saw Charlotte she started to approach slowly and said in a very kind and polite way:

- What's going on, friend? What do you want to know?

Charlotte in a very muffled, whispery voice told him:

- Please call the doctor who is in charge of me! I want to know what I have.

The nurse smiled at him and sweetly replied:

- Sure, let me look for it, it didn't take long to make him come! - She turned around to leave the room again, but as she started to walk she felt a hand stopping her, and when she realized that, she stopped and turned around again to see what this girl wanted.

Charlotte with a smile on her face asked him:

- Please I also called the boy who was with me! I need to talk to him.

The nurse arched one of her eyebrows and answered him quickly:

- The boy who was with you? Which boy? I didn't really take care of you, but I don't remember seeing anyone here with you, I only know that your tests are already paid for, now I'm leaving, I'll look for the doctor.

Charlotte didn't understand what was happening, she didn't remember much about how she arrived or who brought her, but she remembered hearing this boy's voice and wrinkling her face she said to herself:

- Besides... Who else could have found me lying on the ground if not him?

After waiting a few minutes, while she was thinking about everything that was happening, a tall doctor, quite thin and with very nice hair, but already white because of his age, approached her and said:

- Good afternoon, child, I was told that you had already become aware and so I quickly approached you to inform you of everything.

Charlotte, seeing the doctor's happy face, really thought that nothing had happened and smiling, said to the doctor with a tone of voice that was already less hoarse:

- Doctor, what happened to me? Why did I faint? Is there something wrong with me? Please be honest.

Hearing her speak, the doctor quickly changed his face and now he was not so happy, he had a much more serious face, he said in a calm voice while looking at Charlotte:

- Well, there is really nothing wrong with you or well, I don't know what you think about the news, but what is happening is that you Charlotte... you are pregnant, you are already 2 months pregnant, as far as I can see you didn't know anything and that's why you fainted today, now you must rest and you must eat better, since you know it.

Charlotte on hearing this her eyes almost popped out of their sockets and she quickly said:

- I'm pregnant!
