Chapter 2 You have to be strong and survive

I wouldn't say I like it when Faith makes these jokes about me; she leaves me in the middle of the woods. She knows perfectly well that I'm not like her, and I get lost easily, she's my sister, and I love her, but sometimes I wish she was different.

That she wouldn't get into so much trouble, our parents always tell her that she should stop her rebelliousness; it’s like they are afraid that at some point, she will react like a time bomb. She will explode and kill us all, but they are too extreme like all parents.

I kept walking until I could see that stupid lake, " I can't believe I beat Faith; this is really something amazing.”

I took a deep breath, and suddenly I saw the light, like a reflection in the lake. I thought it was something strange, but suddenly I felt Faith's presence. Finally, she was here so that I could make fun of her.

"You took too long, come on. Let's take a picture; I want to use this camera daddy gave me," I said to Faith and walked over to her.

She hugged me, and we both smiled.

"Let me get my hair away from my face, wait," Faith said, looking at me, but I ignored her and took the picture.

"Arya, you didn't let me fix my hair," she said angrily.

"You came out fine, hey and that bracelet,"  I said as I saw she came out arranging her hair and her hand reflected a red-colored bracelet.

"Haaaa, this, it was a gift."

"A gift, from who?" I asked, confused.

"From an impossible dream, someone I will never see again," Faith said.

"You're crazy now you're hallucinating; you must have bought it somewhere," I said, ignoring her.

When I looked at her, I noticed something strange in her eyes; they had changed color from a gray that I was used to because it was the same color as mine; now they were sky blue.

"Faith, what's wrong with your eyes?". I said, looking at her surprised, but it was apparent my sister would bring out her sarcasm as usual.

"What do you mean?" she replied, looking at me.

"They are blue, how strange," I told her, but apparently, she didn't give my comment any importance.

"You are hallucinating it must be, by the reflection of the water, what are you waiting for? Let’s get in," she told me and started to take off her clothes; we are wolves, and nudity is natural, but I don't walk naked in the middle of the forest as if I were an animal either.

"I'm not going to get in, it could be infected, or with bacteria; I don't understand how you like to come here, someone could see you naked you're crazy," I said, ignoring her and sat on a rock, has to wait for her to do her crazy things and we could leave.

"You still have no sense of adventure; sometimes I doubt we are twins, we are so different even though physically you are my copy," she told me. I just pretended with a sarcastic smile.

"! Copy of you, in that case, you are my copy, remember I'm the older one, don't forget"

"How could I, if you always remind me.” She told me, claiming, the truth is that it is the truth I am the oldest and she should respect me or at least do what I tell her, but as usual, she ignored me and ran to the lake like crazy.

I sat on the rock and waited for my sister to come out of the water; she loved coming to swim in this lake; I prefer to be in the mall shopping and choosing brand name dresses, but I thought of accepting my sister's proposal, and here I am dead bored.

I turned my head towards him something, and I saw that flash in the water again, it was strange because I heard Faith's voice, but far away as if she wasn't there, I got up and walked a little towards the lake, but I couldn't see her.

Until I saw my mother running towards me and suddenly everything became cloudy and I didn't know about myself anymore.

HALF AN HOUR EARLIER IN THE BLUE MOUNTAIN CLAN

"Hannia, you are overreacting; they must be hanging around the garden, we are too protective with them, and you know how Faith reacts, we should be more cautious with her especially, I wish she were a bit more like Arya, but I can't deny she is like you," Maximo said, and that made me even angrier.

"What are you implying, your royal highness, that Faith's rebelliousness is because of me? Wow, since when you are so noble? I remember you used to be a womanizer and rebellious when you were a teenager, so not all the fault is mine," I said, furious at his comment.

But as was his custom Maximo came closer and hugged me from behind, placing his head on my neck to reassure me with his scent, "I know you are worried about them, but they are safe," he told me, very confident.

I never told him about that dream I had that I was so afraid would come true, " It's ok, I'll try to calm down.”

"I already asked Travis to organize the warriors and start looking for them," he told me, but as always, I was one step ahead of him.

"My dear Alpha, it won't be necessary you forget that I am your Luna and Queen, by the time you think of something about your daughters, I am one step ahead, Nice already found her trail, if you will excuse me, she is waiting for me," I told him and kissed him on the lips.

"Sometimes I forget who I married," Maximo said and dismissed me with a smile.

I transformed into my she-wolf and ran towards Chenek Lake; from the description, Niza told me I am sure that is where they are headed. As soon as I find them, they will be in terrible trouble.

I was close to reaching something when I felt anguish in my chest, something was happening, I remembered that dream, and I ran at full speed, "Niza, I need you, run towards it something I'm afraid the time has come, what we feared so much" I said with fear in my voice.

"Yes, your highness, I am on my way' Nice answered me through our mental link.

When I arrived at the lake I found my greatest fear, a red light enveloped my daughters, I saw one of my daughters on the shore of the lake and the other one in the water submerging, and terror invaded me, I ran towards them, but it was too late.

TWO DAYS LATER, IN THE BLUE MOUNTAIN PACK

I hear voices around me. Apparently, they are arguing. I think they are my parents and I hear my name and my sister's name, because they are discussing, they think I don't listen to them, but here I am.

I can't move. I feel fragile about what is going on; I try to move my hands, and that's when my parents turn to see me.

"Look, she is reacting," said Alpha Maximo as he looked at his daughter Faith lying on the hospital bed.

"! Faith! Can you hear me? Are you okay? Can you hear me?" said Luna Hannia concerned about the state one of her daughters was in.

I started to open my eyes and in front of me were my parents; I could see in their faces how worried they were, "Where am I? What happened? And my sister, where is Arya?" I asked, worried about her.

My father looked at me and came to my side, sitting on the bed next to me, stroking my hair, "Everything will be alright, I promise," he said, but I could hear in his voice that something was wrong.

When he let go of the lock of my hair, that's when I realized what was going on; I lifted my hands and brought them to my head; my hair was no longer platinum blonde. It was now a bright red color, " but how was this possible.”

I got out of bed and ran to a mirror in the bathroom of my room, and my face turned pale; I stared at myself. I could recognize myself, but my hair had changed color.

My long hair was now a fiery red color, and my eyes were no longer gray, but a sky blue color; fear consumed me, and I thought the worst; I turned my head and looked at my parents.

"What happened to me? It’s not me, mom, who am I" I said with tears in my eyes.

My mother ran to hug me and said, "Stop it, calm down, I know this is too much for you, but you have to try to calm down and listen to me.”

I sat on the bed and my parents next to me, my father looked at me with a smile, and my mother started telling me a fantasy story that couldn't be true.

"Before you and Arya were born, we knew about the legend of the spell of the twins; many years ago, a mighty wizard performed a deed, which would punish anyone who performed magic for their own benefit by overstepping all boundaries of the law of life."

"Faith, when you were not yet born, your father had to perform a deed to bring me back to life, a forbidden spell, and that caused that curse to fall upon us, upon you."

"One of you will be the light, all goodness and pure magic as nature itself, but the other will be the darkness, everything bad that a person can be and powerful at the same time, to prevent your powers from manifesting, we performed a spell with my and your father's blood, with this the magic in you remained dormant until today."

"We never thought it would be so powerful that it has even changed them physically, and there is no way of knowing who is the light or the dark," my mother said, looking at dad.

"I listened to my mother's words and couldn't believe how my life was changing. I'm only 11 years old, and this seems crazy."

I looked at them and said," How can we know who the darkness is, how can we prevent something we might regret from happening, what can I do mom, tell me I will do anything to keep my sister safe," I said without a second thought.

"There is a way that can guarantee that you guys will have a normal life," said my mother looking at dad.

"Hannia! No! Don't even think about it," dad said, and I could notice the anguish on his face.

"What is it? I’ll do anything," I said in desperation.

"We must separate you from this moment on, your lives will be separated, and you will never see each other again; one of you must go far away and never come back."

Dad looked at mom and me too, "No! Anything but that, I couldn't stay away from Arya," I said in anguish.

"Faith, the one who must go, is the stronger of the two, the one who has the greater chance of being the darkness, the one who has a strong and rebellious character," my mother said, looking at me.

"No! No, mom, please, I will do anything, but don't take me away from you, Dad! Please, I will be better, I promise," I said with tears in my eyes and threw myself into my father's arms seeking his protection.

"Hannia, there has to be another solution," said Alpha Maximo.

However, Luna Hannia was firm; she got up from the bed and looked at them both, "Maximo, you know not her there, what happened in the lake could have cost them both their lives, we have to protect them, and must do" she said firmly in her decision.

"! Dad!" said Faith shattered.

"Faith, do you remember what happened at the lake when I found them?" asked Luna Hannia.

That made Faith try to remember what had happened, but the images in her mind were blurry; she wasn't sure what had happened anymore.

"The water was cold; it was screaming cold, I was screaming at my sister

, to help me, I don't remember very well," she said.

Luna Hannia stared at her without remorse and said, "It was her who was screaming, asking you to help her, it was you who was standing there watching how your sister was drowning, and you did nothing to help her; when I arrived, I couldn't do anything.”

"I tried to kill my sister, no, that's not possible; I love her very much, she is part of me, that's not true, you are lying to me," I said desperately.

"Why would I? You are both my daughters, and I only want the best for you, now you understand why you should be the one to stay away from her and us".

"You are the stronger of the two and the one who does not need my care, but Arya, she could not survive away from us. Her character is not as strong as yours, and I must protect her from ......" He said without finishing those words.

"From me...!" I said, feeling tears streaming down my face.

"I know you understand me now and know that I do it because I love them; I will ask them to have everything ready; you will leave today. There is no time to lose," said my mother.

"Today! So soon, will I be able to say goodbye to Arya?" I asked sadly.

"No! You must be away; you can't see each other anymore".

"Where will I go, for time?" I asked, looking at daddy.

"Don't worry about anything, my princess, you will be safe and very well accompanied, Silvana will come for you, and she will be with you, you will go our Coven White Magic, you will live among the witches, and you will learn to control your powers when the time comes, we will come to visit you little one, I promise?" said my father kissing me on my forehead and hugging me with affection.

"I'll go get everything ready," said my mother and walked towards the door.

"Mom! When can I come back?" I asked with hope in my voice, which I saw vanish into thin air with her answer.

"! Never! To prevent something bigger from happening, they should not be together, we don't know what else can happen, but don't worry Faith, you will be fine, you are strong like me, that's why I know that even though you are far away from us, you will know how to make it through" my mother said and left the room.

My father hugged me, and I cried in his arms; I felt like my heart was breaking; today would be my last day at home with my family, I would never return, I would live exiled in a strange country far from everything I knew and love so much, that was my punishment, I had to be strong.
