“Why are you still here?” Caius annoyingly asked Amaris who was sitting at the crumbling table in front of him.

“I’m the one supposed to ask you that,” Amaris responded. He was playfully twirling the dagger in his hand.

The queen had just finished cooking scrambled eggs and laid the platter on the table where Amaris and Caius were sitting. “Can you please put that down? It’s dangerous to play with your dagger,” she scolded Amaris.

“And who are you to say that?” Amaris retorted, making Caius grits his teeth. The prince was about to stand but the queen gave him a sharp look.

“It’s obvious that your mother didn’t raise you well. I feel bad for you,” Queen Morrigan gave Amaris a pitying look to purposely annoy him.

“What?! Well same with your son. It’s obvious that you didn’t raise him well either.” Amaris smirked at Caius.

Caius raised again with his closed fist. Badly wanting to strike Amaris in the face.

“Enough!” The queen scolded. She grabbed Amaris’ arm to stop him from spinning the

Sneaking through the darkness of the night, Vivar reaches the palace safe in disguise. He noticed the palace guards were still on their post. He knew these two as his loyal assistants, Noman and Higor, who already have their own families. He wondered why they didn’t leave when the prince has already told them to return to their families for their safety. Curious and confident, he approached them with his head held high. The guards recognized him though he was still afar. But they just stood straight and didn’t give him a bow. Vivar started to wonder. He stopped a few meters from them and hesitantly asked, “Why are you still here? Didn’t the prince tell you to return home since the palace is not safe anymore?”The two guards looked at each other blankly, their lips were trembling. “Is there someone else inside the palace? More importantly, have you seen the princess?” Vivar grumbled.“The princess is inside, and he warned us not to let anyone of you in.” Higor, the tall and hunky man on

The purple garment of her cloak gracefully draped on the marble floor. Her right leg was exposed as she crossed her feet on her throne. She sluggishly leaned on her seat and gently massaged her temples with her velvety fingertips. She’s been drinking wine since morning, brooding about how to capture the chosen one. Before she loses consciousness, the gigantic metallic door creaks open. She irritatedly opened her eyes to see who the intruder was.“Your highness,” Druji bowed as soon as the queen saw her.“I thought you were enjoying your reign in your mother's castle. What suddenly brings you here?” Dubheasa asked in a blunt tone.“I found a bait to capture Nemiah,” she confidently informed the queen.Dubheasa’s pale skin suddenly bloomed as soon as she heard her. She stood from her seat and paced towards her to hear her more clearly. “Did you just say you found a bait to capture that girl? Are you sure about this?” She wanted to be assured.“You heard it right, my queen. I have jailed

The sky was gloomy so was what she was feeling at the moment. The dark clouds started to gather around her and poured out distressing drizzles, adding weight to her misery. The smell of the burnt body was now washed by the rain. The scent of the wet dirt started to fill her nostrils. Leaving no trace to identify who was the scorched body.Druji screamed out the pain, and the sky responded with a loud roar of thunder. She started cursing at the dark sky, seeking vengeance for what happened to her beloved soldier. She was full of regrets as she thought of the missed opportunities she could have thanked Vivar for all he had done for her. He remembered when Vivar came to the palace and told her that he just wanted to save her. She pounded her chest with her fist, full of guilt. Vivar risked his life to go back just to save her but she only led him to his grave. "I'm sorry. This is all my fault. I should have listened to you!" She cried out as she caressed his unrecognizable face. "I didn'

I felt responsible for Vivar’s death. It wouldn't have happened if I was really the chosen one and had defeated Dubheasa just from the very start. But I’m useless. I wanted to blame the queen for imposing on me that I am their savior. I turned to her, trying to calm myself. “How can I help? You’re telling me I’m the chosen one but I don’t have any power to defeat the evil queen. I think you made a mistake. I am not the chosen one.” I complained as I wiped my tears using the back of my hands. Queen Morigan cleared up her tears and approached me. She gently sat beside me and took my trembling hands and gently pressed it. “The scroll.” She uttered. My brows furrowed to that statement. “What scroll?” I asked. “The last piece of the scroll hidden in the forbidden fortress. The answer is there.” She answered. That’s when I remembered about the scroll I once found in an abandoned castle. It was located in the deep woods when I was trying to escape. But I can’t remember where I left it after

It’s been a week since Vivar died. Druji is still crying every night in her sleep. She hasn’t moved on yet. And when she’s awake, we would catch her staring blankly into nothing. Queen Morrigan is already worried she might completely lose her mind for blaming herself about Vivar’s death. She hasn’t talked to me yet ever since that time she asked me to help her avenge Vivar’s death. And I haven’t talked to Caius as well ever since he confessed to me that day. I still can’t believe it. I don’t know how to respond to him and I knew myself that I cannot reciprocate the feelings he might have for me. It doesn’t make sense. He used to loathe me. Why did he suddenly have feelings for me? Where did it come from?I shook my head, trying to diminish that thought. There’s something more important that I need to do rather than thinking how I can reject the prince without hurting him. I can already move my body like I used to and it’s amazing how quickly I recovered without any medicines. I need t

"He's the son of our mortal enemy. How could you think that he'll help you? Have you been completely manipulated by that man?" He snarled. He turned his back and let out a deep sigh. "I was just anticipating.. that maybe..""No!" He cut me off."Caius. You can't judge Amaris just because he's a witch. He has a big heart too, so I can't blame Nemiah if she thought of asking help from him." The queen somehow got my back. But Caius didn't like it. He became furious about it. "Not you too, mother. He's just making a facade so he can catch all of us once he gets a chance." He retorted. I guess he'll never trust Amaris no matter what good that person will do. I don't understand why he's so infuriated about him to death. He turned to me again with his hands on his waist. "You are not asking for help from that person. Better stay here and I'll go look for that scroll instead." "You don't understand, Caius. It has to be me." I tried to persuade him but he didn't budge. "Uhm.. Excuse me." Kuu

The sky seemed silent with the after rain ambiance and sunset. Red sunbeams lit through my face and somehow hurt my eyes. I covered my face with lace around my neck. This may help me hide my identity but I guess they’ll recognize my tiger anyway. I could feel myself drifting off to the gusting wind brushing through my face. I missed this feeling. But this isn’t like before that we’re just running for a stroll. We’re running to save some lives. I want to convince myself that I can do something despite being unsure how. They believe that I am the chosen one so I gotta impose that on myself and figure out how I should resolve this chaotic world. Not far away, I saw a glimpse of shadows coming towards our direction. Namir halted and we hid along the thick bushes behind us. We peeked through the spaces between the leaves to see if they had spotted us. The crescent moon shone brightly on the open window of my room. The night sky looked so peaceful and Caius was standing there, watching the spectacular view. But seeing Caius's dropped shoulders, I knew his thoughts were clouded tonight. "Can't you choose to stay?" He asked in a melancholic tone, still has his back on me.I bit my lower. I can't. Well I don't know how I'm gonna get back to my real world but once my mission here is done, I'll probably be gone in this place. And I don't really belong here. I have a family in my real world who are waiting and might be worrying about me by now."I'm sorry, Caius. I can't." I gasped, almost sounding like a whisper. He took a deep breath, loud enough for me to understand that he wasn't happy about my response. He slowly turned around, trying to make a smile. "Maybe the place you really belong to is so beautiful and peaceful that you don't want to stay here." He muttered."Well…" I paused for a moment to look at his sullen eyes. "It's not t

"You're dazzling, honey!" Queen Morrigan clasped her hands in awe as she looked at me from head to toe. The dress perfectly fit me like the sewist seemed to know the exact measurements of my body, though nobody came to take measures.I turned around as I stared blankly at the mirror. The queen helped me a lot with all the undergarments. Though it looked so lavish, the weight of the fabrics were a bit uncomfortable. She also fixed my curly hair with golden pins. The messy bun perfectly matched the shape of my face. It looked elegant in a simple way. I didn't know the queen had such a talent for this. I thought it's her maids that style her all the time. "Let me put some tint on your face. You're looking a little pale. Are you sure you're already feeling better?" She took my hand and guided me to the couch to let me sit. "Yes, your highness." I forced a smile to convince her.She stared at me for a moment before. Then she sighed giving me a simper. "Can you stop calling me like that?

I still haven't talked to Aries since they figured out I'll be leaving this place soon. He walked out as soon as I confirmed to them that what the elders said was true. Caius was also speechless about it. He wanted to talk to me but I refused. I wanted to take a break first. I'm overwhelmed with this situation. And now, the elders held a ball to celebrate my arrival. I'm already flustered with agitation due to my mission. And I'm dead worried about Aries. How am I going to explain everything to him? Now I regret not telling him the truth right away.*Knock*KnockI was awakened from my misery when I heard soft knocks on the door. I was currently in an extravagant room prepared by the elders for me. The entire room was as big as our townhouse in my real world. Every piece of furniture has a touch of gold, making me feel suffocated with the luxury around me. This doesn't help elevating the pressure strangling me now."Do you need help, Nemiah?" Queen Morrigan called from the other side o

"What's wrong?" Dubheasa wondered why her soldiers came back to the shore looking frustrated."The houses are empty." One of the soldiers reported."What do you mean empty? Where will the people who live there go?" She snapped. "W-We searched each house but no one we're there. They left all their belongings but no one was found." The other shadow uttered in a trembling voice."What?! There's no way they've already escaped. How would they know?" The veins on her forehead showed how much she was enraged at the moment. Unconvinced, she sprinted to the village and checked some of the houses herself. She got more furious each time she wrecked the door and no one was inside. She tried to contemplate what could have happened. "Amaris. That ungrateful idiot!" She growled. She couldn't think of any other reason for the people to know about her conquest. Only Amaris knew she was going to attack the village tonight."Find them in every corner of this island and kill them! They have no other pla

The sky was dark and thunderstorms roared synchronizing with the heavy gushing of the rain. It was supposed to be a glorious day for Dubheasa but the weather doesn't seem to cooperate with her plans. She slouched on her throne while distressingly pressing her temples with her fingers. She was waiting for an alternate plan to destroy the village."My queen. The rain still hasn't stopped. Should we wait for it to cease before we proceed with the plan?" One of her soldiers came in to report. Dubheasa threw a sharp glance at him, making his body tremble in fear. He decided to bow his head to avoid the eye contact."Hasn't Jack come back yet?" She asked in a cold voice. Little did she know, the man she's waiting for has already turned into ashes."N-Not yet, your highness." The servant stuttered in fear."What could have happened to that old man? I just asked him to spy on Amaris and they both haven't returned yet." She straightened her back and took a deep breath. (While Nemiah and her allies were stuck in the mansion..)Druji was feeling dizzy, keeping her eyes on her mother as she walked back and forth near the entrance of the cave. The anxiousness was written all over the queen's face as she took glances at the entrance, hoping the people she's waiting to return would show up anytime now."Mother, you've been like that for an hour already. Please calm down. Maybe they couldn't return yet due to the incessant pouring of the rain." Druji stood from her seat and stopped her mother from wandering around."I just can't help it. It's almost dark and there's still no news from them." The queen fretted, her hands were trembling as she clasped and unclasped them."Your highness. Aries is with them so don't have to worry. I began to wonder how they took the people and convinced them to come. I'm really curious about that place.Aries's forehead creased as soon as he heard me. He seemed faltered. I know he's also wondering how they're already inside. The rain almost stopped. Dubheasa probably has released her army to proceed with her evil plan. Just as I thought about it, the trees and nearby bushes rustled clamorously. "Let's get inside, Nemiah. I think Dubheasa's troops are already searching for us." "Are you feeling alright now?" I fretted. He raised his head and wiped his mouth with the back of his hands. Grinning at me, he said, "More than alright." Then his eyes lowered on my lips, making the blood rush throughout my body. I could feel my face burning so I quickly stepped away from him."Pervert," I grumbled to myself as I touched my lips with my shaking fingers. "Why did you do that? You could have just touched me." “What is this place?” I jumped off the horse to get a better look at the breathtaking view of the paradise we were currently in. I heard everyone gasp in awe as they entered the portal. We were on concrete pavement and it was leading to a stunning white palace ahead. It was three times bigger and extravagant than that of Queen Morrigan's palace. Looking from afar, everything was painted in white and the windows seemed to be made of dazzling gold. What kind of people are living here? Or are they even people? This place is terrifically marvelous. I badly wanted to ask the horses since they're the one who brought us here. But it won't make sense since I don't understand them. I wonder if Namir could do that for me. I wandered my eyes around. There are thousands of white roses along the path. It looks exactly like what we have in Kuu's cave. Did those roses come from here? I could also hear the calming sound of a gushing falls somewhere. I wonder how this kind of bewildering place exists
