Logan
I stared at this man in complete shock, "Your telling me... that the Elders of the underworld are making you choose someone to be your Queen within 6 months, or 3 months now..." I swallowed hard, "and your asking me to be your Queen?" I blinked a few times in disbelief. I couldn't believe what I was hearing! Something like this just doesn't happen.
Xander swallowed hard, his anger bubbling up again, "Don't make fun of me!" He hissed. I could see that he was struggling to get his anger undercontrol, almost like he was fighting with himself.
I shooky my head immedatiely, "I'm not!" I swore to him loudly. "I swear that I'm not making fun of you. I just never... I would never have thought that there would be so many rules for ruling the underworld. I thought you were King, not the Elders. I don't understand."
He nodded, "The system is very complicated and very corrupt at the same time. The King, me, is in charge of all the other demons, and I make sure the underworld runs smoothly. Making sure those who need to be punished are punished, and those who have crossed into the underworld mistakenly are returned to where they need to go. Without me, the Underworld doesn't work properly." He waited a a minute before continuing, "I'm the big cog that makes every other cog work."
I frowned, "So if your brother, Axel?" She waited for me to nod before contiuning, "takes over, what will that do?"
He pinched the bridged of his nose, "I don't even want to picture what would happen if my brother took charge. Our father trained me and my youngest brother. Since I'm the oldest, I stepped up once my father died. Axel spent most of his time chasing women and gambling, making more debt for our father to clean up."
I blew out a long breathe, "That's a lot to take in." I took a sip of my hot chocolate, thankful for the chocolate to keep me going. "Why me though? What makes you think I'm capable of even standing beside you?"
He scratched the back of his head, staring down at the table, "Your temper matches me, your quick and level headed though at the same time. Even though your temper may burst though, you still know what to do in the end. You weren't scared to inflict pain on my advisor, but you knew the consequences and walked before anything bad could happen."
I sighed, "I like... inflicting pain on others. Maybe it's the demon inside of me, but I notice that not many demons now-a-days have that quality and it's looked down upon."
His growl made me stop moving, "Inflicting pain is what we were born to do. That's the whole reason we're demons. We're reincarnatated from old souls who know the meaning of pain and are too restless to be at peace!" He slammed his hands on the table, breaking it into two, our drinks and food going everywhere, "I don't care if I have to beg you, Logan! I want you to be Queen and that's my final answer!"
His words were just. That's what he stood for, being a King and all, however, there was this unnerving edge to him that made me think of what our future would be like, if maybe we could make a relationship work. We're both demons, we both have big tempers, quick to rage, and we both don't know how a relationship is suppose to work. Maybe, just maybe this could work.
Xander slowly stood up from the chair, curling his lips, "Stupid human world and their flipsy belongings!" He snapped his fingers and in a flash, the table was fixed, the dishes wern't broken, and were refilled.
I gasped as he sat back down, "What...?"
He smirked, "I have a few tricks up my sleeve." He gestured to both of us, "What do you say? Can I count on you?"
I stared at his chest, thinking about everything. I was unsure if this was the next step. I was unsure if this was what I needed. I was unsure of even how this was going to go? What if we end up ripping each other apart? What if we hate each other? What if we accidentally fall for each other? Am I even capable of love? Is he? Is the King of the underworld able to actually feel love? Also, what about my other situation? What if they find me? What would Xander do or think?
I wet my lips before answering, "Can people track in the underworld? Like... is it possible that someone could find me?"
Xander raised an eyebrow, "It's possible, but it's really rare. There's too many of us down and other scents would get in the way. However, if they have a hellhound, it's not immpossible."
I nodded, my mind racing with so many other questions. I didn't really have anything to lose, but I didn't really have to lose here either. Do I take the risk and try this out? or do I stick to what I know and start going town to town again? I have plenty saved up from working with Markus so it should last me awhile, however, will I get a chance like this again?
I signed, "I guess I don't really have anything to lose. I'll do it, but I need a day or two to get my things in order."
Xander looked surprised and then relieved, "I'm very happy to hear it. I'll have my advisor pick you up 48 hours from now at your apartment."
I shouldn't have been so shocked to hear that they knew where I lived, but still, "You know everything about me, don't you?"
Xander slowly stood up, buttoning his suit, "My... employee's have been feeding me information they have been able to find about you." He gave me a small smile, "I should have told you before hand, but one can never be too careful."I didn't like that, but if he knew what I really was, then he wouldn't be standing here, talking normally to me.
I nodded, "That's a little creepy, but one can never be too careful." I stood up quickly, wanting to get home since I need to figure all this shit out. Plus, I needed space away from this guy. He's too... compelling. "I'll be waiting for your advisor then. I hope she... isn't too upset about her teeth."
Xander smirked, "She was testing you, to see if you had balls and she won't make that mistake again. Thats on her." He walked me outside and watched me while I yielded a cab, "You promise you ain't going to run?"
I gave a little laugh, "I don't have anything to lose. Running isn't going to solve anything."
He opened the cab door and closed it. I met his eyes through the window and my whole body got hot, like my blood was on fire, I wanted him. I could feel it. It unnerved me of how aggressive the pull was to him. I quickly gave the driver my address and I felt a sigh of relief when I couldn't see him anymore, but I felt like I could still feel him, like he was right next to me in the car.
Xander I stared at Logan as she got into the cab. Every part of me was burning and telling me not to let her go. Once the door was closed and the cab was pulling away, I zoned in on my aura and snapped it shut. I glanced down at myself and saw only the sidewalk. I haven't used my invisibility since I was kid. I used to use my invisibility to get extra food at night when everyone thought I was sleeping and amongst other things... that's another story for a different time though. I teleported myself into the cab and I almost ended up touching her. I yanked back my hand just in time and pressed myself against the window. I really didn't need her to know that I was here. Following her was something I didn't know I was going to do until it just happened. It's like my body has a mind of its own whenever I'm around her. It's almost like she's compelling me, which was highly unusual and surprising. She was incredible and I knew I wasn't going to be able to let her go.She also scares me tho
Logan For the past two days, I've been cleaning, packing, and stressing about everything! I was able to find someone else to take over my lease for the apartment. Skylar, shes a bartender that I worked with at Markus's bar. I've also talked with Markus about what happened and informed him of my two day notice of leaving. He wasn't happy about the situation, but he wasn't upset either. He was still getting paid from Rosa, Xander's advisor for helping them, even if I caused some commotion. Skylar rolled her eyes as she bit into a sandwhich, "Would you calm down? I can hear your heartbeat a mile a minute!" I groaned, leaning forward on the couch, "This is just too crazy. I mean, what the hell am I doing?" Skylar walked over, popping herself down next to me, "Stop, okay? This is a one in a life time chance to rule hell!" She tossed her long blonde hair behind her shoulders, focusing her icey blue eyes on me. "Your blowning this out of portion, ya know." I rolled my eyes at her thi
Xander Bridget was a fragile old lady with white-ish gray hair always up in a tight, with crinkly dull blue eyes, and a small mole on the left side of her lips. She was calm as she pricked Logan's finger, letting the drop of blood hit the Moon water in the holy chalice. Usually, young demons will be brought to the DMA grounds and will be taken into the center room the Elders use for communication with other royalty or purebloods. Bridget or Samantha will prick the young one's finger, letting the blood drop into the chalice and after a few seconds, a puff of colored smoke with puff out of the water. Red means hunger demon, blue means fear demon, green means greed demon, yellow means lower-level demons such as luck, hate, and all that good stuff. Only the top-notch demons have their own colors. Orange is for the middle level demons that answer the incantation of those who sell their souls for something in return. It depends on the demons blood, how high quality it is. Mine was a black
Logan I sighed deeply as I submerged myself into the bath water some more. The bathtub was huge! My feet didn't even touch the other side and I was fully laid down in it. I stared up at the white checkered ceiling thinking about the kiss. It felt... amazing! I didn't know something like that could happen. I've read about it, sure, but I didn't think it would ever happen to me. I mean, come on! I'm a Death Demon, the last of my kind, and no one takes a second look at me. Well, Xander did, but for different reasons. Remember Logan, this is just a job. Nothing more. I'm sure Xander has other women he's more interested in someone like me. I turned my head and glared at my reflection in the full length mirror. I couldn't believe I was here and that I agreed to something like this. I watched myself in the mirror, and hated what I saw. Worthless... thats the word that came to mind. I groaned and decided to appericate the bathroom instead. It was beauiful in here for sure. The shower was se
XanderI dragged my hands down my face in total frustration. I wasn't able to get anywhere with Rosa. I know that Logan would be nice and hold her ground as she told me, but Rosa is the main problem here. She's run so many other people out of here that this castle is nearly empty because of her. Hungry demons don't get along with other demons for various reasons, but the main one is... hungry demons don't care if you're human or eat, they will eat you. Rosa is the worst too, she'll take small pieces at first, just a little bit here and there, but before you know it, you're arm's gone or your legs missing. Footsteps hurried into the room. Delia, one of my personal maids, hurried in. Her dark brown eyes were dilated and her long black hair looked like she just got out of bed. A look of terror on her face told me something was going on. She didn't have to say anything. Rosa and I quickly followed her down the hall. Yelling from inside told me that it was Logan and... Nicole? What the fu
Logan I gasped as my body hit the ground. I was pretty sure my eyes were open, but it was complete darkness. I couldn't even make out anything, no shapes, and there weren't any sounds either. The silence was worse than the darkness almost. I wasn't scared of the dark, but I was scared of what was in the dark. I knew people lurked in all sorts of places, waiting for their prey. I slowly got to my feet and shuffled around, hoping to maybe find a wall or something to tell me that I was at least somewhere safe. I started to walk forward, holding out my hands in front of me just in case I came in contact with someone. After a few minutes of listening to my own footsteps, a thought occurred to me. I groaned, and used my hand to ignite a small fireball that lit up just a few feet around me. I blinked a few times, letting myself get used to the light versus the darkness. There was literally nothing around me, just... emptiness. I moved around some, hoping to see anything, but still nothing.
Xander What was taking so long? It never lasts this long when some goes through the transition. I wonder if Logan was having a hard time. I remeber the look she gave me when I had kissed her. She was disgusted with me... I should have explained the process futher when I mentioned the transition. I just didn't think she would have transitioned so quickly. I didn't even think she was near the transition, you could usually smell it. Dr. Anderson thinks it has something to do with the experiments she's been through. It would explain a lot, but then for her to be from the very first family of Death Demon's means a lot. Her blood is strong and she'll bring me well-bred children, but her mind could be alterned from the being in the human realm and from the society of humans. Panic starts to set in as I try to remember how I got here, but my mind is foggy and nothing comes to me.I try to sit up, but my muscles feel sluggish and weak. It's like I'm moving through molasses. It takes all of my willpower just to get to a sitting position, but once I do, I'm able to look around and get my bearings. The room is dark and dreary, with heavy curtains blocking out all the light. There's a large four-poster bed across the room, and a dresser against the wall. LoganIt’s been a week since the whole incident with Clare. I’m unsure of what exactly that was all about, but it made everything a lot easier since I’ve told Xander about my idea. He’s been happier. Maybe it was because of my idea or maybe because of his new advisor, his brother, Alex. From the sounds of it, they don’t spend a lot of time together and since it was approved by the Elders, now they are inseparable. It’s nice though, to see Xander smile. He’s been intense and almost frustrated with everything until recently.I groaned as I looked at the stack of books on my desk. Xander has given me books about my heritage and my own kind, but also books on being a queen. I was having trouble understanding the aspects of what a Queen truly represents. There’s no way though, I’m able to walk into a room with grace and elegance and demand everyone’s attention. I’m going to need more training on how to be graceful and fearful at the same time, because you can only learn so much from a book
Logan I blinked a few times as I heard whispering voices. The orange light streaming in from the windows told me it was morning. I yawned as I sat up, my body echoing with pains and aches. Xander was leaning against the far wall by the door that goes out on the balcony. Another man was standing there, speaking with him. He looked vaguely familiar as I stared at him. With black shaggy hair, sharp green eyes, and a straight jawline, the resemblance to Xander was there. Was this another brother? "...Elder's asked for an audience. I can't tell them no." The man said, clearly over this already, "I can smell your... bond already. They can't deny this. If they do, it leaves them open for others to contest their positions. No one wants that." Xander groans, pinching the bridge of his nose, "Rosa is gone. I'm unsure of how they are getting their information, but they are getting it." "You have to understand that it doesn't matter how, they will get their info." Xander scoffed, "Rosa was
XanderI carefully walked back to the room with a tray full of food. The Chef had prepared a yogurt parfait, oatmale, orange juice, and saltine crackers. I asked for the saltine crackers because I know my stomach felt horrible and couldn't hold anything down except for water and crackers. I placed the tray on the bedside table of the pull-out bed and quickly straightened the covers. What else should I do? I glanced at the bathroom door and realized it was open some. I blinked a few times in surprise, but slowly walked over. I couldn't help myself. I was curious for sure. She left the door open as well, which meant she wanted to be seen, right? I stopped myself, disgusted with myself. Where the hell did I get that type of mentality from? I shook my head and turned to go, but caught a glimpse of her. Her short black shorts made her already round ass so much more plump. And that t-shirt wasn't doing her any favors at all. Her breast weren't being held down by a bar so her nipples were
