Logan
It's been three months since I was made manager and Markus is very pleased with me. I caught on quickly, fired a few shit employees, found better employees, and the club has been rolling in the money since. No more breaking bottles behind the counter and no more cleaning not getting done, along with people getting sick from the food we were serving.
The music was loud and nosy just like they wanted it, the food was hot and crunchy and fully cooked, the booze was easy going and no bottles were going to waste anymore. Markus had just shown me the graph of when he didn't have a manager and then after I started. He had gone up in revune 36%. He was over the moon with the numbers and very thankful, he even gave me a raise.
I got behind the counter and started to serve when I noticed a girl with long blonde hair, watching me with a sparkle shining brightly in her green eyes. Goosebumps covered my arms that told me that this was it. They had finally caught up with me. Adreneline filled my veins as I approached the women, her smile was not welcoming.
"I'm guessing your not here for the boose or our famous chili fries?" I asked, prepared to either run or attack. I won't be caught. I won't be used again.
Her smile made me while to smash her teeth in, "I'm looking for someone, you see." She glanced behind me and her smile went even more wide, "I've found him."
She slide off her chair in a silky white and black flowery dress and hurried over to Markus, wrapping him in a hug and kissing his check. The look on Markus's face told me he was surprised and irrirated at the same time. He pushed her away and angrily said something to her and then dragged her upstairs by her arm. Clearly it wasn't a very good relationship.
Focusing on mu job, I calmed down a little bit. My radar was off. Maybe it was because I've been here far longer than anywhere else. I'm getting comfortable here, and I can't tell if that's good or bad. If I let this go on, will I still be found? Will they drag me back again? If I'm in their crosshares, I will they will shoot. If I keep running like I have been, then it means they won't find me. I've even changed my name so they couldn't track me in the human world, however, their trackers are topnotched and trained for things like this.
My attention snapped into place when a man started walking through the club with an illusion of an crown on his head, making his black wavy hair stay in place, and it was just visiable enough for those with underworld eyesisght to see it. Several people started to bow and the humans stood their staring, dumbfounded at him. I narrowed my eyes as he approached the bar, his eyes scanning those all around him. He looked angry as he released I wasn't bowing to him.
"Are you looking for someone?" I asked, cleaning a glass in the sink, trying to keep myself from attacking or running from this guy. His aura was powerful, but I had a feeling he was holding back from the look of rage, and annoyance in his glowing hazel eyes. It was almost like murderous intent.
He looked surprised as he looked down at me, he cleared his throat after a moment of staring, "Yes, I'm looking for my advisor. She said that there was someone in the city that owns this club that could help me."
I raised an eyebrow, thinking about that blonde, "Your advisor wouldn't be a hunger demon with blonde hair, right?"
He smirked, "How'd you know?" His voice had gotten a little raspy, which alerted me even more. I hated change and when someone changes suddenly, it makes me think I've done something wrong.
I pressed the little red button on the side of the bar, signaling for Markus that someone was here for him. I imagine that they are a little busy at the moment, whether arguing or fucking up there. I wasn't expecting them anytime soon, since he usually comes running down the stairs when I press the button any other time.
I let out a small hiss and gestured to a chair, "They might be awhile. You might as well sit and have a drink. Anything special?"
I felt his eyes watch me as I turned to pour a drink for a customer that came up beside him, "Something smoky, if you would." He said with a small chuckle.
Was he laughing at me? Rage burst through my body and I quickly squashed it, "Burbon alright with you?" I asked, reaching for the top shelf.
"Ice, please." He said, and I could feel his eyes on my backside. I glanced in the mirror and saw his eyes going up and down my body. My whole body wanted to burst in flames, but in the good way. I narrowed my eyes at him, which made him glance up, meeting my eyes and I felt like I was being swallowed by a black hole.
It took a lot out of me to look away. I knew what he was trying to do. He was high level demon, and from the way there were purple flakes in his eyes, he was also royal, which means he has the ability to use complusion. Pulling myself out of it, I poured the whiskey into a clean glass and put a couple of our rounded ice cubes in it to give it a more clean look.
He looked shooked as I set it down in front of him and went to the next customer. I felt his eyes watch my every move as I moved behind the bar, pouring other drinks, cleaning, stocking. I was doing inventory when Markus finally came down with the blonde who bounced over to the crowned man. Markus gave me a pointed look as he came behind the counter, and the blonde sat down next to the crown.
"You're... advisor told me your situation and I think I have a few females that might be the fit your looking for." Markus said, grabbing scotch off the top shelf.
I quickly moved and set down the smokey burbon in front of Markus, "That's what he's drinking." I said, before walking away.
I don't know what came over Markus but he grabbed my upper arm and hissed at me, "You don't tell me what to do! I own this bar, not you!" There was posion in his voice and his eyes were dilated. This women definitly feed on him.
Rage burned inside of me and I grabbed his hand, yanking it off of me, "You know better than to touch me like that, Markus." I hissed back at him, releasing my aura to assert domanice.
Markus instantly took a few steps back, his eyes slowly going back to normal, "Shit! Logan! I'm sorry." He ran his hand through his hand, and looked surprised as he leaned against the bar.
I immedatily pulled back my aura, feeling sorry for pushing Markus like that. The blonde busted into giggles as she sipped her cocktail. This time I didn't stop the rage that swirled through me. I grabbed the blonde by her throat and yanked her against the counter, growling in her face.
"Tell me why I shouldn't bust your teeth in right now?" I snarled at her.
She grinned, "My boss wouldn't let that happen." Her tongue sweeped over her sharpened teeth. She was baiting me to do it. I hestiated, still not sure of the guy next to her. "See! I know little bimbo's like you, all bark and no bite!"
A loud snap echoed throughout my whole body, causing purple flames to swirl around my body. I smiled nastily at her, and just like that, all of her teeth started to fall out of her mouth. Her smile vanished from her face as she saw her teeth hitting the counter and falling to the ground. She let out a horrible scream, and I instantly stepped back, releasing her. She grabbed frantically at her teeth, trying to shove them back in her mouth. I smirked, the purple flames disappearing and I regained control of myself again.
Once I was in my right mind, I saw what I did and I sucked in a sharp breath. I glanced at Markus and I could see the surprise in his eyes. I really messed up, didn't I? I sighed deeply.
"I guess I'm fired?" I asked.
Markus glanced at me, he was still in shock, "I... don't know."
I nodded, "Give me a call when you make up your mind."
I headed towards the back for my things. I wouldn't wait for his call. I knew that once again, I fucked up. I had something good and my temper ended things for me again. Grabbing my coat and purse, I turned towards the door, but stopped thanks to the crowned man standing in front of me, his eyes a deep purple that matched the flames that rise from my body.
XanderI was more than surprised when I had watched this low level demon, not so low-level after all, literally make a fool out of my advisor, who is known to be ruthless and is one of the high level demons in the kingdom besides me, of course. I've also never seen a fire demon with purple flames either. I watched as she moved away, her long black hair swayed to the moves of her hips, those dark green eyes that turned purple when the flames arose, her fair complexion didn't even have a single scratch, and her dull aura all of a sudden raise several freaking questions. I moved swifly away from the screams of Rosa as she was trying to put her teeth back in her mouth. I teleported to the back door and I smirked as this women turned around and stopped as she saw me. Her eyes were filled with alertness, anger, and some form of urgency. She took a step back, getting in a fighting stance, but I saw in her eyes that she was ready to run just as well. She spoke first, "What do you want?" Her
Logan I stared at this man in complete shock, "Your telling me... that the Elders of the underworld are making you choose someone to be your Queen within 6 months, or 3 months now..." I swallowed hard, "and your asking me to be your Queen?" I blinked a few times in disbelief. I couldn't believe what I was hearing! Something like this just doesn't happen. Xander swallowed hard, his anger bubbling up again, "Don't make fun of me!" He hissed. I could see that he was struggling to get his anger undercontrol, almost like he was fighting with himself. I shooky my head immedatiely, "I'm not!" I swore to him loudly. "I swear that I'm not making fun of you. I just never... I would never have thought that there would be so many rules for ruling the underworld. I thought you were King, not the Elders. I don't understand." He nodded, "The system is very complicated and very corrupt at the same time. The King, me, is in charge of all the other demons, and I make sure the underworld runs smoot
Xander I stared at Logan as she got into the cab. Every part of me was burning and telling me not to let her go. Once the door was closed and the cab was pulling away, I zoned in on my aura and snapped it shut. I glanced down at myself and saw only the sidewalk. I haven't used my invisibility since I was kid. I used to use my invisibility to get extra food at night when everyone thought I was sleeping and amongst other things... that's another story for a different time though. I teleported myself into the cab and I almost ended up touching her. I yanked back my hand just in time and pressed myself against the window. I really didn't need her to know that I was here. Following her was something I didn't know I was going to do until it just happened. It's like my body has a mind of its own whenever I'm around her. It's almost like she's compelling me, which was highly unusual and surprising. She was incredible and I knew I wasn't going to be able to let her go.She also scares me tho
Logan For the past two days, I've been cleaning, packing, and stressing about everything! I was able to find someone else to take over my lease for the apartment. Skylar, shes a bartender that I worked with at Markus's bar. I've also talked with Markus about what happened and informed him of my two day notice of leaving. He wasn't happy about the situation, but he wasn't upset either. He was still getting paid from Rosa, Xander's advisor for helping them, even if I caused some commotion. Skylar rolled her eyes as she bit into a sandwhich, "Would you calm down? I can hear your heartbeat a mile a minute!" I groaned, leaning forward on the couch, "This is just too crazy. I mean, what the hell am I doing?" Skylar walked over, popping herself down next to me, "Stop, okay? This is a one in a life time chance to rule hell!" She tossed her long blonde hair behind her shoulders, focusing her icey blue eyes on me. "Your blowning this out of portion, ya know." I rolled my eyes at her thi
Xander Bridget was a fragile old lady with white-ish gray hair always up in a tight, with crinkly dull blue eyes, and a small mole on the left side of her lips. She was calm as she pricked Logan's finger, letting the drop of blood hit the Moon water in the holy chalice. Usually, young demons will be brought to the DMA grounds and will be taken into the center room the Elders use for communication with other royalty or purebloods. Bridget or Samantha will prick the young one's finger, letting the blood drop into the chalice and after a few seconds, a puff of colored smoke with puff out of the water. Red means hunger demon, blue means fear demon, green means greed demon, yellow means lower-level demons such as luck, hate, and all that good stuff. Only the top-notch demons have their own colors. Orange is for the middle level demons that answer the incantation of those who sell their souls for something in return. It depends on the demons blood, how high quality it is. Mine was a black
Logan I sighed deeply as I submerged myself into the bath water some more. The bathtub was huge! My feet didn't even touch the other side and I was fully laid down in it. I stared up at the white checkered ceiling thinking about the kiss. It felt... amazing! I didn't know something like that could happen. I've read about it, sure, but I didn't think it would ever happen to me. I mean, come on! I'm a Death Demon, the last of my kind, and no one takes a second look at me. Well, Xander did, but for different reasons. Remember Logan, this is just a job. Nothing more. I'm sure Xander has other women he's more interested in someone like me. I turned my head and glared at my reflection in the full length mirror. I couldn't believe I was here and that I agreed to something like this. I watched myself in the mirror, and hated what I saw. Worthless... thats the word that came to mind. I groaned and decided to appericate the bathroom instead. It was beauiful in here for sure. The shower was se
XanderI dragged my hands down my face in total frustration. I wasn't able to get anywhere with Rosa. I know that Logan would be nice and hold her ground as she told me, but Rosa is the main problem here. She's run so many other people out of here that this castle is nearly empty because of her. Hungry demons don't get along with other demons for various reasons, but the main one is... hungry demons don't care if you're human or eat, they will eat you. Rosa is the worst too, she'll take small pieces at first, just a little bit here and there, but before you know it, you're arm's gone or your legs missing. Footsteps hurried into the room. Delia, one of my personal maids, hurried in. Her dark brown eyes were dilated and her long black hair looked like she just got out of bed. A look of terror on her face told me something was going on. She didn't have to say anything. Rosa and I quickly followed her down the hall. Yelling from inside told me that it was Logan and... Nicole? What the fu
Logan I gasped as my body hit the ground. I was pretty sure my eyes were open, but it was complete darkness. I couldn't even make out anything, no shapes, and there weren't any sounds either. The silence was worse than the darkness almost. I wasn't scared of the dark, but I was scared of what was in the dark. I knew people lurked in all sorts of places, waiting for their prey. I slowly got to my feet and shuffled around, hoping to maybe find a wall or something to tell me that I was at least somewhere safe. I started to walk forward, holding out my hands in front of me just in case I came in contact with someone. After a few minutes of listening to my own footsteps, a thought occurred to me. I groaned, and used my hand to ignite a small fireball that lit up just a few feet around me. I blinked a few times, letting myself get used to the light versus the darkness. There was literally nothing around me, just... emptiness. I moved around some, hoping to see anything, but still nothing.
LoganIt’s been a week since the whole incident with Clare. I’m unsure of what exactly that was all about, but it made everything a lot easier since I’ve told Xander about my idea. He’s been happier. Maybe it was because of my idea or maybe because of his new advisor, his brother, Alex. From the sounds of it, they don’t spend a lot of time together and since it was approved by the Elders, now they are inseparable. It’s nice though, to see Xander smile. He’s been intense and almost frustrated with everything until recently.I groaned as I looked at the stack of books on my desk. Xander has given me books about my heritage and my own kind, but also books on being a queen. I was having trouble understanding the aspects of what a Queen truly represents. There’s no way though, I’m able to walk into a room with grace and elegance and demand everyone’s attention. I’m going to need more training on how to be graceful and fearful at the same time, because you can only learn so much from a book
Logan I blinked a few times as I heard whispering voices. The orange light streaming in from the windows told me it was morning. I yawned as I sat up, my body echoing with pains and aches. Xander was leaning against the far wall by the door that goes out on the balcony. Another man was standing there, speaking with him. He looked vaguely familiar as I stared at him. With black shaggy hair, sharp green eyes, and a straight jawline, the resemblance to Xander was there. Was this another brother? "...Elder's asked for an audience. I can't tell them no." The man said, clearly over this already, "I can smell your... bond already. They can't deny this. If they do, it leaves them open for others to contest their positions. No one wants that." Xander groans, pinching the bridge of his nose, "Rosa is gone. I'm unsure of how they are getting their information, but they are getting it." "You have to understand that it doesn't matter how, they will get their info." Xander scoffed, "Rosa was
XanderI carefully walked back to the room with a tray full of food. The Chef had prepared a yogurt parfait, oatmale, orange juice, and saltine crackers. I asked for the saltine crackers because I know my stomach felt horrible and couldn't hold anything down except for water and crackers. I placed the tray on the bedside table of the pull-out bed and quickly straightened the covers. What else should I do? I glanced at the bathroom door and realized it was open some. I blinked a few times in surprise, but slowly walked over. I couldn't help myself. I was curious for sure. She left the door open as well, which meant she wanted to be seen, right? I stopped myself, disgusted with myself. Where the hell did I get that type of mentality from? I shook my head and turned to go, but caught a glimpse of her. Her short black shorts made her already round ass so much more plump. And that t-shirt wasn't doing her any favors at all. Her breast weren't being held down by a bar so her nipples were
LoganI groan as I feel myself slowly start to wake up. My head is pounding and my body feels like it's on fire. I could feel his hands, like they were still on me. Everything inside me screams that something is different, I feel like myself, but not quite. It takes a moment, but eventually I can focus enough to realize that I'm in a complete different room. Panic starts to set in as I try to remember how I got here, but my mind is foggy and nothing comes to me.I try to sit up, but my muscles feel sluggish and weak. It's like I'm moving through molasses. It takes all of my willpower just to get to a sitting position, but once I do, I'm able to look around and get my bearings. The room is dark and dreary, with heavy curtains blocking out all the light. There's a large four-poster bed across the room, and a dresser against the wall. A fireplace burns merrily in the corner, but it doesn't do much to dispel the gloom. Despite the ominous ambiance, I can't help but feel like I've been her
Xander What was taking so long? It never lasts this long when some goes through the transition. I wonder if Logan was having a hard time. I remeber the look she gave me when I had kissed her. She was disgusted with me... I should have explained the process futher when I mentioned the transition. I just didn't think she would have transitioned so quickly. I didn't even think she was near the transition, you could usually smell it. Dr. Anderson thinks it has something to do with the experiments she's been through. It would explain a lot, but then for her to be from the very first family of Death Demon's means a lot. Her blood is strong and she'll bring me well-bred children, but her mind could be alterned from the being in the human realm and from the society of humans. They think completely different from demon kind and they make it hard to co-exist because they are stuck in their humanity ways. Rosa appeared next to me, "Sir, the Elders have requested a meeting with you tomorrow at
