Chapter three

Before I could utter another word, Rose brought out her phone and dialed a bunch of numbers then in minutes, a hairstylist and make-up artist was by my door.

“Call King Tristan and tell him you're coming while they get you ready. I run down to a store and get you a dress that's surely going to leave everyone in awe. Chop chop guys, she's in a hurry" She said in a sing-along voice before grabbing Tristan card and running out of the house.

I let out a sigh as a smile slowly crept onto my face before I grabbed my phone and dialed Tristan's number.

He seemed over the moon that I decided to come and said he was going to pick me up by eight which meant I had only one hour and some minutes to get ready.

“Don't worry, we'll be over in no time and you'll look spectacular. You already have a pretty face and your hair is in great shape so there's not much to do" The make-up artist uttered as they sat me down and began their magic.

Jaden woke up some minutes later and I immediately stopped whatever I was doing to prepare dinner for him. Then when he was done eating, I turned on the TV and let him watch whatever he wanted.

After I was done with Jaden, I let the stylists do their job and by the time they were done, Rose was back with a gown in hand and when she brought it out of the bag, my jaw nearly dropped at how beautiful it was.

It was a light blue sparkling gown that was sure to catch the attention of anyone in sight. It had a very high slit, it was handless with a very low neckline and backless.

“That's not going to cover anything, Rose" I grumbled as I stared at her with wide eyes.

“That's the point, Hazel. You have a very beautiful body with curves in all the right places. You need to show it off. I don't know how Tristan got attracted to you when you dress like a hobo seventy five percent of the time" She muttered and I playfully glared at her.

There was nothing wrong with my fashion sense!

After much argument, I decided to wear the dress when Rose told me how much it costs. It was probably a wrong idea to give Tristan's card to her in the first place.

The makeup and hair was done and they all helped me into the gown.

“You need to see yourself!" Rose squealed as she dragged the full length mirror I had in my living room towards where I was standing and I gasped as I took in my appearance. I couldn't even recognize myself.

“Is that…" I began but couldn't even complete my sentence.

“You look beautiful. I can't wait to see the look on King Tristan's face when he comes to pick you up" She squealed and the other two squealed along with her as they gushed over Tristan and I but I wasn't listening to them.

I couldn't stop staring at myself. My dirty blond hair was packed up in a bun with a few strands falling over my face and accentuated my hazel eyes. The hair stylist placed a few diamonds on my hair which went well with the dress design and my make up, it was minimalistic and I loved it. It looked almost natural but I knew for a fact that I didn't look like this on a daily basis.

Then the gown, it might be the best part. After I gave birth, I had been insecure about my body but today, today I could finally accept that I was beautiful. I really was beautiful.

“You look like a Queen mama" I turned towards the tiny voice and saw Jaden staring up at me with a twinkle in his eyes and I had to stop myself from crying so I wouldn't ruin my makeup.

“Thank you my little prince" I bent down to place a kiss on his lips and as I straightened up, my eyes interlocked with Tristan's as soon as he walked into the house and I visibly saw him gulp.

His eyes trailed down my body then back to my face before he took some steps closer and I couldn't help but admire him. He was handsome, very handsome at that with his light brown hair and green eyes that always seemed to shine brighter at night.

His hair was combed back into perfection and he was putting on a green suit that brought out his eyes. He looked like someone that just came out of a fashion magazine.

“You're breathtaking, Hazel" He uttered breathlessly and I could feel the heat rising in my cheeks.

“Thank you. You don't look bad yourself" I muttered and he chuckled.

“Mama, uncle Tan is your King and you're a Queen" Jaden suddenly yelled like he just figured out a big secret and everyone laughed while Tristan carried him in his arms.

“Yes and uncle Tan is so lucky to have someone as beautiful as your mother as his Queen" He murmured before his eyes darted to me and I didn't know what else to do so I looked away.

“You should have told me you were wearing Green so I would have gotten Hazel a green dress so you two would match" Rose whined and I was glad she spoke before any sort of awkwardness settled upon us.

“It's not going to matter because everyone's eyes are going to be on Hazel, they are not going to notice me" He murmured then placed Jaden on the ground before reaching out his hand to me.

“Shall we leave?" He uttered and I smiled then bent down again and placed a kiss on Jaden's forehead.

“Do not trouble aunty Rose, okay? If anything is wrong, tell her immediately. I'll be back tonight and I'll come cuddle you" I uttered and Jaden grinned at me.

“Don't worry mama, I'm a big boy now. Protect my mama, Uncle Tan" Jaden uttered as he turned to Tristan with a stern look on his face which made us all chuckle except Tristan who stared back at him with seriousness on his face.

“With my life"...
