Palestine. two and a half months before.
The day was sunny and there was no trace of wind. The heat was unbearable. Samanta and Amir arrived at the Beersheva private airport at 11am. They were picked up by a designated driver o n a white Toyota FJ Land Cruiser All-Terrain that took them t o Deir al Balah, where they were welcomed by two other researchers, designated by the Research Department of Al-Azhar University, according t o what Ms. Tahirah said before they left El Cairo.
After almost three hours and a very bumpy road, they reached their destination.
A tall bodily man was expecting them at the entrance of what seemed t o b e a residency.
“Mr. and Mrs. Mobarek” the man smiled and extended his hand out t o the couple.
Sam correspondió el gesto amablemente.
“You must be…”
“Doctor Kaibah Alec, former colonel of the Israeli Army. Currently head of the Department of Research i n Al-Azhar University” The gentleman interrupted Amir.
“We've been expecting you” a woman's voice made the turn. She was a beautiful woman, not even 40 years old, with a sublime face and large green eyes. Her jet-black hair made her golden skin glow. A huge smile o n her face, a s she welcomed the Mobareks. “Mrs. Adhara Romij-Alec, coordinator of the Arts Department and wife of this fine gentleman” she made a funny gesture with her hand, pointing at Dr. Kaibah. “I've heard s o many good things about you two. Welcome!”
The place was a nice family home, separated i n condos. They had one condo set up for the Mobareks. The place was decorated i n the purest Moroccan style, with beautiful red carpets, furniture with striped upholstery and asian motives. A huge King size bed with terracotta covers and luxurious lamps all over the room. A beautiful place.
“Would you like t o dive into the adventure already? Or would you like t o take a break?” Asked Dr. Kaibah a s h e put the last of the just arrived bags o n the floor.
“A break? What i s that?” Answered Amir, smiling. h e turned t o Sam. “Love? Would you like t o rest?” Samanta seemed absent. “Honey?” Her husband insisted.
Sam shook her head.
“Sorry, there's a lot i n my mind right now. You were saying?” She apologized.
“I was asking whether you want t o rest or would you rather head t o the excavation already?” Asked Amir.
“Oh God! Of course we should go t o the excavation right away. I just need t o call...”
“By Allah! We've only been away from the girl for a couple hours. Charlie must have already dropped her off at school” her husband interrupted her, anticipating her wife's concerns.
“What if she forgets the girl's allergic t o peanuts?” Anxiety took over Mrs. Mobarek.
“ Relax. They will b e fine” Amir wrapped his arms around her and gave her a sweet kiss.
Dr. Alec cleared his throat, making them separate. They had forgotten they were not alone.
“We'll leave you t o it. You may come down when you're ready and we'll go” the beautiful woman's voice said with a certain amusement from the romantic scene they had just witnessed.
Amir and Samanta let out a subtle laugh.
“We'll b e down i n a couple minutes” said Amir.
Kaibah and Adhara left the room.
Sam took her phone and called Charlie, she waited for her t o pick up.
Amir watched her i n silence, h e knew his wife was worried about their daughter and h e understood, it was the first time they were away from Aháva.
“I'll b e waiting for you downstairs” h e said. h e went t o her and kissed her forehead, and left the room.
“Samanta! How was your trip?” The voice o n the other end of the line recovered her peace.
“Charlie! Fine! How's the girl?” She bluntly asked.
“Fine. I just dropped her off at school. Why?”
“No. Nothing. Don't mind me. I was just wondering” a brief pause. “Remember she's all…”
“Allergic t o peanuts” finished Charlotte “I know. You told me a thousand times before you left. It's alright, Sam, we'll b e fine. Don't worry. Enjoy your time away with your husband.”
“Charlie. I need t o tell you something.”
Samanta couldn't bear the remorse anymore. She needed t o tell somebody.
She went t o the door t o make sure no one was listening.
The voices of Dr. Kaiba, Mrs. Adhara and Amir, were coming from downstairs. Sam closed the door and got back t o her friend o n the phone.
“I kissed Dominik.”
“What?”
“I mean, h e kissed me. I didn't tell you because…”
“Wait a second Samanta Mobarek. Are you telling me all this hatred you claimed t o harbor for Dominik went t o shit and all of a sudden you guys were making out? You, a married woman?”
“No. It was nothing like that. And we didn't make out.”
“Oh, no? You were just playing tonsil hockey?” Her remark made Samanta laugh out loud. “Are you laughing? Samanta! This i s serious.”
“Sorry, Charlie. You say the craziest things…”
“What i s the matter with you? You can't just go around kissing another man. You're married! t o a wonderful man, I must add.”
“Charlie, please listen t o me. I didn't plan it, neither did I procure it. It just happened. I…”
“When was that?” Asked Charlie.
“They day they took the paternity test.”
“Oh my God! And Aháva saw you!? You're a terrible…”
“Stop! I didn't call for your judgment. I'm telling you because I needed t o let it out. I was going insane. Cut me some slack, would you? Just listen t o me! b e my friend for just a minute. Don't act like my sister Teresa” Samanta snapped.
There was a brief silence.
“Alright. Sorry. I'm listening” she replied amicably.
“I haven't managed t o get him out of my head, and stop thinking about that kiss. It just keeps going around i n my mind all day, and it tortures me. I feel s o guilty and mean. I don't know what i s going o n with me” Sam's voice quivered. “I love Amir, but, Dom…”
“You're not over him” completed her friend.
Silence again.
“I think I loved him all along” confessed Samanta, after a few seconds.
“Impossible. You can't love two men at once and you know it.”
“I know. I don't know what's wrong with me” Sam's voice had despair i n it.
“Girl, take your time. Clear your doubts, enjoy these days with Amir. Reignite the passion with him. Take it a s a second honeymoon. Also, remember Dominik i s married, too. Both of you are, you moved o n with your lives.”
Sam hung up, decided t o leave those stupid thoughts behind. She took a deep breath, gathered all her courage t o go downstairs and join her husband and colleagues. a s of then, she would only b e Samanta, Mrs. Mobarek.
All four researchers headed for the adventure.
Samanta was elated. It had been a while since she felt s o excited about doing what she loved. It was a huge opportunity for her career. The loved writing about it, but actually doing it and being o n site was different, it made her feel alive and helped her get away from s o many nasty memories.
Spending time with her husband, doing what she loved restored the peace i n her mind.
They explored a few areas of the city, places with lots of stories and mystery. Something Sam loved was facing the unknown, thinking of going into history a s one of the archeologists i n charge of broadcasting a finding of this proportion made her heart race.
The excavation was surrounded by heavy machinery and dozens of men working t o remove the large amounts of sand that buried the entrance t o a building that seemed t o date back t o the III century.
They went into the unstable depths of all that sand and rocks.
Big walls with symbols and gold carvings adorned the entrance. Samanta looked and, judging by her knowledge, it seemed t o b e a n edification of the Asuri dynasty, a n ancient civilization that adored the goddess Saribak, which, translated t o other cultures would b e the female version of Satan. Given the nature of the ruin, it's discovery started a series of rumors blaming it for the recent attacks o n the area, and that that was the reason why Palestinian territory was o n the brink of war with the United States. i n other words, the goddess was upset for having been disturbed.
Samanta laughed i n her mind about what she thought was a silly superstition, she took her notebook and wrote everything down, detailing with drawings of what she was seeing. Amir, o n his side, took pictures of everything that surrounded him. He, too, was excited, it was his first job o n site, ever since h e graduated, h e had worked i n his father's business, far from what h e loved. Being here with the woman h e loved was a dream come true.
Four days went by and Amir, Sam, Kaibah and Adhara spent their time i n the sand, under the sun, surrounded by mysteries. They were having a lot of fun, the excavation was going according t o plan.
Samanta called Charlie every night, asking about her daughter.
In time, Samanta developed a bond with Dr. Alec. h e was one of the best i n their field and h e ran all of the information regarding the excavation. For decades, h e had been investigating the cult t o Saribak and h e made amazing discoveries every day.
On the other hand, Mrs. Adhara, the beautiful, young wife of Dr. Alec, seemed very pleased with Amir, which made Sam feel the small thorn of jealousy, digging into her heart, more than once. Amir, however, had no eyes for anybody else, other than his beautiful wife and h e let her know every night they spent between kisses, caresses and passion. They hadn't had time t o themselves i n a very long time, Sam didn't like the idea of Aháva hearing them or walking i n o n their intimacy.
During dinner, Dr. Kaibah and Mrs. Adhara told the young couple about their experience and anecdotes i n the different projects they had worked on. Samanta and Amir would listen i n admiration. Samanta seemed like a little girl listening t o a fairytale. She was fascinated, she even managed t o develop a good friendship with Adhara, a woman whom, albeit her tough and strict outside, was humble and sweet. Dr. Kaibah, o n his side was always smiling and very athletic, h e loved his job, it was the second thing h e loved most i n his life, right after his wife, of course.
Two days before the Mobareks headed back home t o El Cairo, Adhara and Kaibah set up a farewell party for their two new friends i n a popular karaoke bar.
Well into the night, after the drinks made effect. Amir decided t o sing a song. Athada El Aalam by Saber El Robaii t o b e specific. It was the couple's song. h e dedicated it t o his wife o n their wedding, which made her wife tear up, remembering all the beautiful things she had lived with this wonderful man she loved s o dearly. She had made up her mind.
She loved her husband.
Dominik was part of the past and there h e would stay.
That night, they all sang and danced and had a good time, forgetting their exhaustion and rejoicing i n the completion of their work.
The day came, and they had t o go home. Samanta and Amir's flight would depart i n the afternoon a s they awaited their departure, the Alecs offered t o take the Mobareks o n a trip out i n the beautiful city of Palestine, shopping for the right souvenir for Charlie, Aháva and a few of the mansion staff members.
They walked along some streets and then separated.
Kaibah and Amir headed into a n arts and crafts store where Amir bought a beautiful Moroccan doll for his daughter and a bottle of the traditional regional liquor for Charlie. Meanwhile, Sam was window shopping o n the street with Adhara. They both were s o excited between all those fabrics with s o many colors and textures. Pashmina of every color made Sam delirious, unable t o set her mind for one of them.
“This one must look beautiful o n you” Adhara held a n olive green Pashmina with golden threads close t o Sam's face. “It contrasts your eyes.”
“Wow! It's s o pretty” Samanta nodded while putting it on. She loved it.
“See? It looks really…”
Adhara could not finish her phrase, a huge boom interrupted her.
Samanta felt like her head would explode and her ears were buzzing.
In a matter of seconds, chaos took over the place.
Shrieking screams came from every direction.
Dust. Smoke. Fire.
“SAM!” She heard Adhara's muffled voice. “Where are you?”
The place was covered i n a thick cloud of dust and smoke.
“Over here” replied Samanta, stretching her arms out blindly trying t o find her friend. “What was that?”
A man said a few rods i n Arabic, but Samanta couldn't hear him. She could only notice his urge t o find shelter.
“By Allah! This cannot be.”
“What? What i s it?” Sam was scared.
“We're under attack. We're being bombed” said Adhara.
Panic took over Samanta.
“Amir” she mumbled.
She got up immediately, she was still numb and dizzy from the explosion. She needed t o get out of there, out of the confusion and disaster.
Once out of the store, she could discern the debris scattered along the street and people running i n all direction with their faces covered i n blood. Some people, lying o n the street, immobile and Samanta feared the worst. She looked around, hoping t o find her husband amidst the terrifying chaos.
“Samanta!” A scream called her attention and she turned t o find Amir. His leg had been trapped by a large chunk of concrete. Her hear was racing and she headed, any way she could, towards her husband.
“Sam. b e careful.”
Adhara was running toward them. She, too was desperate. There was no sign of Kaiba.
“Here. Hold this.”
Samanta took off the heavy back she was carrying o n her back and gave it t o Adhara. She had t o lose anything that slowed her down. She had t o rush t o Amir and help him. She jumped between the burning debris that covered the street, zigzagged between the flames and running through the smoke that covered everything. She was determined t o get Amir out of there.
“No, Sam. Go” her husband yelled. “No! Go!”
“I'm not leaving you. I am not leaving without you” she screamed with tears rolling from her eyes.
A loud explosion happened right i n front of her, throwing her back a few yards. She fell o n a pile of rocks and her ears buzzed even more intensely. Excruciating pain i n her back caused her t o scream and her vision was fogged. Any way she could, she put her head up, looking for her husband. There was fire and ashes, everywhere. She looked around looking for signs of life, but she could only find the body of her friend.
Samanta fell unconscious.
A white light hit Samanta's pupils causing her a n acute headache, she tried t o raise her hands t o cover her eyes, but a murmur i n a foreign language made her react.Cables came out of her body and a machine was tracking her heart rate with a n annoying beep. A nasty feeling i n her mouth let her know a tube was coming out from there. She tried moving, but her body was not responding.A woman next t o her tried t o appease her.Sam tried t o articulate, but t o no avail. She fell unconscious again. It had been almost two months since the awful day when Amir and their friends, the Alecs died. The memories of such a terrible night haunted Samanta's dreams, a long, imperturbable dream. Samanta remained i n a coma for 57 days. Days after which she was released due t o a huge confusion. The moment the last explosion detonated, which killed Adhara Alec, she was carrying Sam's bag, with all her documents, so, the moment they found her burned body, they jumped t o the conclusion that th
Dominik could not coordinate his thoughts, h e was i n shock. His hands were shaking. His heart, pounding, h e lost his grip and let his phone slip, dropping it o n the ground.“Dominik? Say something, please!” Samanta demanded a n answer.Aháva was confused, she could not understand what was going o n with her father, why did h e turn s o pale all of a sudden? She bent over t o pick up the phone from the floor. Dominik was forced t o sit back down from a sudden light-headedness.“What's wrong, dad?” Asked the girl.Samanta heard that sweet voice through the phone and her heart started pounding.“Aháva. Baby. It's me. Mommy” said Samanta, but the girl did not hear her. She was holding the phone, but trying t o get her father t o react.“Papa! What's wrong?” Aháva got closer t o her father. “Hello?” Sounded her little voice through the phone. Samanta froze. “Who i s this?” Aháva wanted t o know the reason her father was i n shock.Samanta was speechless, she had no idea what t o s
“How long do you think she'll b e sitting there?” Carlos asked Charlie, referring t o Samanta, who was sitting down by the spot where they buried Amir. “However long she needs t o say her goodbyes” said Charlie. “They were s o many years, and, no matter what, she loved him.” Charlotte and Carlos remained i n silence, observing their friend. Samanta was staring at the tombstone that read: "Amir Rajag Mobarek 1982-2013 Beloved son and faithful husband" …And she cried i n silence. It caught her attention how it did not mention what a n amazingly devoted father h e had been. Maybe Amir's father decided against it, after h e found out Aháva was not his daughter. Memories were piling up i n her head and many tears were shed. “My angel. Life won't ever b e enough t o thank you for everything you gave me. Your love and understanding” she sobbed. “It's s o hard t o go o n without you. s o hard” her heart's lament was about t o choke her words, “but I'll do it for her, for our littl
Dihanna was desperate, seeing how her husband was acting. Dominik was shoving things i n his bag and it broke her heart seeing him like this, delirious for a woman other than herself. Aháva lied at their bedroom door, sobbing. “Look at you. You lost your mind. Look at your daughter, she's frightened.” “No, I am not mental. I could not believe it myself, at first.” “SHE IS DEAD, THEY BURIED HER IN EGYPT WITH HER HUSBAND” Dihanna shrieked. Dominik stopped o n his tracks. Aháva started crying. “Oh, no, baby! I'm sorry” she walked towards the girl. “I didn't mean to” she held her. “Dominik! Please, stop” the woman started t o break and tears fogged up her eyes. She took Aháva by the hand and took her t o her room. Dihanna was devastated. Seeing her husband had lost it for Samanta. Hurt. Knowing h e was still mourning that love h e had for her completely broke her heart. Aháva's phone rang and Dihanna picked up, since the girl was crying nonstop. “Charlotte!” Said Dihanna. She r
“Calm down, Sam. Everything will turn out fine. You'll see. You must b e tired and hungry. Come. Let's go eat and then you can take a shower. You need t o get some rest.”Carlos served a plate for Sam and she started eating.“God! I hadn't had your food i n ages, Carlos. I've missed you s o much, man” said Sam a s she took a mouth full of that delicious food into her mouth.“Right. He's a great cook. I never thought I would find somebody s o special i n my life” said Charlotte a s she kissed her future husband's cheek.“I'm glad t o see my best friends together a s a couple. By the way. How did it happen?”“I'll tell you everything, but first, You should know I just called Aháva. Dihanna answered and...”“Who's Dihanna?” Asked Samanta, interrupting Charlie.“Dominik's wife” responded her friend. Sam shivered.“Right. I forgot h e was married” she muttered. “And? What happened? What did she say?”“The girl knows… and she's shocked. Dominik i s packing bags like a crazy person, sayin
“Sorry, Dominik, you have t o stay, you have a contract t o fulfill. Two more games and you can forget about us, if you will” said Ewald.“Ewald, I need t o take my daughter to…”“No. Didn't you have enough with all the money you had t o pay earlier this year? I know your bank account wouldn't miss another few thousand Euros, but … Come on, Dominik! You can wait a couple days.”“Ewald you need t o understand…”“Yes. I understand, and I'm glad t o know Samanta i s alive, but you have responsibilities here, Dominik. You can't just throw everything out the window.”“All I ask i s one week. That i s all I need. I will b e back i n time for the game.”“No.” Dominik let out a sigh of resignation and hung up. His plan failed. h e couldn't convince the coach t o let him go t o Egypt.HE had t o stay for two more weeks of training and two Bundesliga games with the Munich Bayern t o b e held, one i n Hamburg and the other i n Munich. Afterwards, h e could do whatever h e wanted. His cont
Mr. Ihshan Mobarek welcomed Samanta i n his office. Although h e was still upset from being deceived like they did about Aháva. h e was fond of Samanta, and knowing she was alive actually made him happy. She was the closest thing h e had t o his son, after Maher made it very clear she would not return, after a heated argument they had after Amir's funeral.“Mr. Ihshan, I must apologize for…” Samanta stumbled upon her own words.“Don't worry. Let's not talk about that” Mr. Mobarek interrupted.“I am sorry” she insisted.“It was all my fault. I never paid him enough attention t o him. Maher told me everything. h e loved you s o much, that was the only way h e thought I would allow you t o marry him. At first, I did not get it. I asked myself, what does h e see i n her? I knew it when you two got married. I had never seen my son s o happy. You made him happy” h e had t o pause a s h e was starting t o tear up. “Maher told me s o much. Things I ignored about my own son and I am sure the
"Good morning, Mr. Hallagan. Do you already have what I asked for?!" Dihanna asked once in the lawyer's office. “Yes, Mrs Dihanna. Are you sure about this?" "Nope. I'm not sure, but I know it's what's best for everyone. I don't want to be a hindrance to anyone anymore," she said as tears threatened to well up in her eyes. Hallagan handed her a folder, she took it and without further ado, left her lawyer's office. Once inside her car, she placed the folder on the passenger seat and burst into tears. She vented all that pain, for not being loved by the man she adored. She knew that Dominik would never dare leave her, not because he truly loved her, but because it was his way of thanking her for so many years of dedication and dedication. However, she didn't want that. She didn't want crumbs, she didn't want anyone's leftovers. She was aware that she couldn't condemn her happiness and summarize it as a loveless marriage. He picked up the folder and began flipping through its contents.
I turned to the man who was talking to me. There was something in that voice that made me evoke a thousand memories. I looked at him carefully for a while, because although his face was very familiar to me, I couldn't place him. I opened my eyes like saucers and my heart stopped for a fraction of a second when I recognized the owner of those green eyes that were looking at me. In front of me was the personification of all my fears, traumas and insecurities. The man who served as a benchmark to compare all the people who came into my life after him. It was a beautiful vision, and at the same time a nightmare come true. “Antoine,” I said his name with difficulty. If the mere memory of him stirred up a lot of emotions in me, can you imagine “what his presence did to me?” The imposing figure of a six-foot-tall man lay before me. His eyes were greener than I remembered them and he had a beautiful smile (the one that brought out a couple of dimples in his cheeks) plastered on his face. He
I shook my head hard to concentrate on my friend's voice. She kept talking, but I stopped listening to her for a moment because I was thinking about Harvey, the gorgeous blond I met two months ago on one of my many girls' outings with Gabrielle, and who I started dating four weeks ago. He was divorced and had two young children. All my life I was reluctant to have anything with a man with children, because my policy was always: If I can buy a new car, ¿why buy a used one? This thought became ingrained in me as a result of living with my stepmother. It's not that our relationship was bad, but I remember a couple of times I tried to make her life miserable, just for fun. I was afraid that divine justice would take its toll on me for those years of rebellion and headaches I'd caused Valerie. But there was something about Harvey that appealed to me so much. He was very direct and upfront. When he approached me, he didn't do it with the typical cliché phrases that all men use to approac
She was silent, watching as that handsome man walked away. She didn't understand why she couldn't stop looking at him. She had seen handsome men many times. His father lived surrounded by them. Athletic men with heart-stopping butts. However, there was something about… Damn! h e didn't tell her his name a n d h e wanted very much t o know. h e hit his forehead as h e remembered how h e treated him. "How stupid I am. At this rate, I'm going t o be alone." She couldn't help but feel like a fool for being so rude t o him. Perhaps his intentions were sincere… or perhaps not. h e felt a little relief when h e remembered the way that girl almost ran away, she seemed t o be running away from him. Maybe h e was a lout a n d deserved every one of his mistreatment.Anyway, h e decided not t o think about it a n ymore. She shook her head a n d started t o go back t o the table with her friends, but as soon as she did, she realized that her friends weren't there. h e took a quick look around the
The car was parked in front of the place h e had been frequenting for the last few days. It was a good place t o dance (he loved t o dance) a n d have a couple of drinks in the company of a pretty woman. h e met Melanie in New York a n d since then she accompanied him o n his tour. That's how h e wanted it, a n d although August didn't need the woman who was willing t o have a good time with him, she was perfect, because she was funny a n d undramatic. (At least it seemed that way at first) I didn't understand how his attitude changed in a matter of three days.He shook his head a n d cleared his mind. I didn't want t o think about that. h e was ready t o celebrate that night h e appeared in the place h e had dreamed of for so many years. For every illusionist, the MGM Grand Garden Arena was a statement that h e was reaching the pinnacle of his career. His parents knew it a n d that i s why they traveled from Scotland t o accompany him. Her little sister couldn't make it o n time beca
Aháva tried t o take long strides t o get t o the bar as quickly as possible. The club was packed a n d people seemed t o be possessed by some kind of demon of lust, as they groped each other while dancing grotesquely. The blonde looked at the couple o n her right a n d couldn't help but shudder. Could it be that they did not know about the existence of hotels? God! She didn't understand why she agreed t o go t o that place with her friends, if she never liked going t o places like that. She was more of mountains, rivers a n d beaches. h e liked t o be in contact with nature while enjoying the silence or reading a good book. I had known Lauren, Jessica, a n d Alicia since I was eight years old. h e had just moved with his parents t o California. They lived in the same neighborhood a n d went t o the same school. Since then they were inseparable friends.Aháva was about t o turn nineteen a n d college was just around the corner. h e would study at one of the most prestigious universiti
"All the way down, all the way down, all the way down," they yelled in unison. The girls tried t o encourage the youngest of all t o drink the entire contents of her glass in one sip. However, the blonde with green eyes could not do it, because she did not like the taste of tequila or a n y alcoholic beverage. I didn't understand how there were people who drank liquor until their livers dried up, if the taste of alcoholic beverages was so awful. She licked her lips, wrinkled her nose, a n d put the glass back o n the table.Aháva grimaced a n d wiped the corner of her lip with the back of her hand.-I do not can. It's disgusting,” h e yelled, due t o the high volume of the music. How do they make you drink this? It i s awful!—Booo. Don't be a spoilsport,” the eldest of all spoke up. Lauren, a pretty woman about six feet tall, slim, with black hair, gray eyes, a n d white Caucasian skin."You said you'd have a couple of drinks with us," Jessica, the giggling redhead with black eyes a
13 years laterHe smiled heartily, as h e always did after a presentation. Hearing the applause of his audience as h e walked offstage was undoubtedly his favorite thing since his father gave him a cape, top hat, a n d wand for his tenth birthday. h e decided t o dedicate himself t o illusionism when that afternoon at his grandmother's house, a magnificent magician left him speechless by drawing a dove o n a small blackboard a n d then shaking it a n d taking out a royal dove. As it did? It was the question that haunted August until h e reached adolescence a n d discovered it for himself after so much studying a n d practicing magic tricks. In the end, it wasn't as hard as I thought it was. After finishing school, the Real Centro Universitario María Cristina de San Lorenzo de El Escorial in Spain was her next step in her academic training, where she specialized in Illusionism. Having dreamy parents helped him a lot, otherwise h e would have had t o settle for being a graduate, enginee
One month after.Dominik glanced at Carlos surreptitiously a n d Carlos nodded, indicating that everything was ready. Charlotte could not suppress the small smile that came from her lips, because she knew perfectly well what was going t o happen next. She was also Weigand's accomplice. Samantha gave her friend a confused a n d questioning look."They say that h e who laughs alone remembers his pranks," she mumbled, poking the blonde's side with a finger.Charlotte laughed out loud."I'm just happy t o have married a wonderful man," the Polish woman commented, scanning her surroundings with her eyes. The garden looked beautiful, decorated in a vintage style with turquoise, white a n d silver decorations. Just two hours ago, Charlotte a n d Carlos had said "Yes, I do", in front of family a n d closest friends. Samantha was the maid of honor, a n d Dominik was the best man.
