Two days went by since the nasty encounter with Dominik, and Samanta could not manage to focus on her things. Amir got so annoying with his jealousy attacks, because she admitted she loved him and she should not fear the return of a ghost from the past.

The mood among the Mobareks was tense.

Amir got very distant to his wife and Samanta used any excuse she could to be away from home while her husband was there.

They shared their bed at night, but they had no choice.

Aháva isolated herself in her room the whole weekend. She was in her room this morning, upset at her parents for hiding the truth from her. She grew up thinking Amir was her father, and she loved him like he was. She loved her dad very much. Thinking of that other man made her sad. She had never met him in her life and suddenly he comes up saying she's his daughter? She was very confused.

Her bedroom door opened. It was her mother, who found her child sitting by the window with a notebook in her hands. Her diary. At least, that's what she called it.

“Good morning, princess” the mother greeted.

“Is that man my real father?” The child asked bluntly.

Samanta was shocked by the tactless question.

“Yes” whispered the mother. “I am so sorry you found out like that, baby.”

“I don't care, mommy. I love daddy Amir. That man is not my daddy. I don't want him.”

The girl started crying and Samanta's spirit was crushed. Seeing her little daughter like this, she hated it very much.

»Mommy, I'm scared. What is going to happen now? Will the man take me?”

“No, no, no. Never, love. No one will take you away from me. I promise” Sam felt a subtle pinch in her heart thinking of the possibility of being separated from her daughter.

“Samanta. This came in for you” Amir's voice said from the bedroom door.

“What is it?” Asked Samanta.

“I don't know. Some weird guy brought it. He was like one of those Men In Black guys” although Amir was trying to stop the friction with his jokes, he got the opposite.

Sam walked up to him, took the envelope and frowned.

“It has my name on it” she said.

“Exactly.”

Samanta opened the enveloped and took out a letter.

As she read, terror started taking over.

Amir realized his wife turned pale.

»What's wrong?” He asked, concerned.

“It's a notice” Sam's voice broke.

Amir took the envelope and read it. He felt an animal anger take over him in a matter of seconds. He wrinkled the letter in his left fist.

“Bastard” he muttered.

“He wants to take her away from me” murmured Sam, with lost eyes.

“Who wants to take what from you, mommy?” The child's sweet voice rumbled in the room.

“Adasha!” Yelled Amir, calling one of their maids.

The woman showed up immediately.

“You called, sir?”

“Take the girl downstairs” demanded Amir.

“But, daddy…” replied the child.

“Go with Adasha. Right  now!”

Aháva felt very upset from her father's attitude, he had never treated her like that. Adasha took her by the hand and they both left.

“That bastard has no idea who he's messing with” Amir mumbled and threw the paper ball to the side. He walked up to his wife and took her hands between his own. “Listen to me well. Nothing and no one will bring us apart from Aháva. He has no idea who I am and what I can do” Sam looked up and tried to speak, but Amir didn't let her. “I have never used my father's influences for anything before. This time I will.”

“Your father” muttered Samanta. “He thinks Aháva is his granddaughter. He will find out the truth about her.”

“Crap!” muttered Amir.

Sunlight seeped in through the window, lighting up Dominik's face, whom was still fast asleep. A sheet covered half his body, leaving his chest uncovered. On the other side of the room you could hear Carlos snoring, also asleep. They were both exhausted from the day before, when they scavenged the whole town, looking for diversion as they waited to hear from Weigand's lawyer. They profited their spare time to discover some places in Egypt.Dominik needed some leisure. The sound of his phone made him move around in his sheets. He stretched out his arm and looked around on the bed side table with his hand. He opened the phone with his eyes still closed and answered in grunts.“Hello” the voice on the other end of the line woke him up immediately. “Yes. Yes, go ahead” silence. “No. I was awake already. Tell me.”“Morning, Mr. Weigand. I'm calling in to let you know the notice has been received” it was his lawyer, Mr. Hallagan.“What? What notice?” Dominik was disoriented.“The day before

The day Dominik had been waiting for, had come. He got out of bed with a smile. He wasn't sure whether he was so happy to see Samanta or because he'd be seeing his little daughter. Doubts and remorse came to his mind, thinking of this young girl who probably hated him right now. He was a stranger to his daughter, and the thought of that caused him pain.He put on a spectacular gray suit, with no tie, he bought the day before. He looked flawless from head to toe.Mr. Hallagan, his lawyer had arrived the night before and was expecting him at the hotel lobby.Carlos left early, not saying where he was going, he wanted no part in this, for his relationship with Samanta and how Dominik had grown in him lately, too. We could say they had become friends. But they couldn't. He thought he should do something since Dominik was a victim in all of this, and Samanta had to understand this somehow. He understood she was upset, but he could not sympathize. He had to find a way to show his friend, pu

The moon was lighting Egypt, filling two hearts with sadness.A pair of blue eyes were lost in the immensity of the Nile, as some tears fogged them up. This was beyond him. How could he feel such a strong love? How could he still have all these feelings for someone he had not met in years? How could he have such a strong feeling for someone he had barely just met?Samanta looked into the horizon, too. From her bedroom balcony, she could see the huge sky, who had witnessed such a sweet love, which, in time, turned to nothing but memories.Samanta shed a few tears.“You better get some sleep, honey” said Amir, walking up to her, hugging her from behind.“I'll be there in a minute, love.”“By the way, I forgot to tell you I can't come with you. Father asked to meet me early. I can't miss it.”“Don't worry.”Amir, then, walked back into their room, leaving Samanta very anxious. Not only did she have to bring her daughter to prove her father was a different man, not whom she had grown up l

That moment was special for both of them. Samanta felt her blood had that warmth it had lost years back. Her heartbeat rose, she had been longing to feel those lips on her, again. She craved them. On his side, Dominik felt like he was in heaven by just touching those lips he dreamed for so long. They split up, wanting more. Their breath was racing. Sam's body was burning with desire, Dominik only wanted to have her once again.“I miss you so much” Dominik's whisper broke the silence. “I need you” he murmured. “I love you so much” he said holding her chin and leaning in again, to kiss those lips, one more time.Sam closed her eyes, and in a fraction of a second, she remembered her times with Dominik and why she left without a notice. She remembered how she felt when she found out she was pregnant of him, Dominik's supposed answer, her wedding with Amir and how hard it had been living without Dominik, piling up years and years of rancor. She shook her head and backed off.“Sorry. This s

Amir had just come home from his meeting with his father. Fortunately, his interest to meet had nothing to do with Aháva and Dominik, being her biological father. Further ahead, he would come up, calmly, with the best way to let him know the truth. He sat down at the chair at his desk and was about to order some papers regarding a new client. In the past years, he became, practically, his father's right hand. He took over the company. However, Amir wanted to go on a long journey with his wife and daughter all over asian territory, venturing into ruins, caves and so many marvelous uncharted territories. But his dream kept drifting further away with so many latent responsibilities, adding up, the inconvenience with Dominik. He had to be there for his wife.“Sir?” the voice of a young man, in his twenties, dark skin and brown hair, made him turn to the door, “this just came in the mail” Jamin was Adasha's son, the family's trusted home employee.Jamin studied in the afternoon and evening

Dominik went back to the hotel, rushed to his room and met Carlos, who was sitting on the couch, watching TV. He greeted him and went straight in to the bathroom. He felt like he needed to shower with cold water in order to ease the burn Samanta had caused. When he came out of the shower, he changed into some comfortable, fresh clothes and walked up to his roommate. Carlos looked at him, intrigued.“What's with all this happiness?” He asked. Dominik did not respond. He just smiled even more. “Jeez!” Carlos opened his eyes big like plates. “Who did you bang?”Dominik laughed.“No one” said Dominik, laughing.“What do you mean no one? Look at you! You're like a child who just did a mischief.”Dominik laughed again.“I kissed her” said Dom.“Who?”“Samanta.”Carlos' jaw hit the floor.“You did what? Bu- bu- but” he stuttered. “She's married and you… so are you” Carlos looked at him, frowning. “A wife whom, by the way, called you a while back. Besides, you have a bunch of missed calls fro

Samanta and Amir were chatting during lunch, about the letter they received. They were discussing the pros and cons of taking the job, they were planning when to leave and what to bring with them. They imagined the adventures they would live in such a wonderful place they had just been invited to. Suddenly, Samanta realized something …“What about the girl? Aháva can't be left alone, but she can't come” Sam's eyes were wide open. “The place will be full of booby traps and dangers, it is no place for a seven-year-old. Besides, we're in the middle of a legal process, the judge could think we're running away” she could not help sounding paranoid.“My love, you have nothing to worry about. She can stay with father. Aháva will be delighted.”“No, love, your father is very busy. We need someone to watch her 24/7.”“You reckon Charlotte agrees to stay over a couple days babysitting Aháva?”Amir's spontaneous question lit up Sam's face.“What a great idea! She loves Aháva. Charlotte intended to spend the rest of the day with Aháva. She took her out to the city of El Cairo, along with their special guest, Carlos. Between him and Charlie, the passion smothered six years ago was rekindling, and it showed from afar. They chattered for a long time, while the girl got on a few rides. He took the time to get her up to date regarding Dominik, and how he was a victim of deception by his manager. At the end of the day, all three of them were playing in the spacious gardens of Al Azhar park. They were running, playing ball and eating some fruit.“Sorry. Didn't meant it” apologized Carlos when he threw the ball further away than he should have.“You go get it” ordered Charlie.“I'll go, auntie. Don't worry” said Aháva right before she ran out, looking for the ball.Charlotte punched Carlos' shoulder.“Just Great! Now you go get the girl” she commanded.“Chill. She'll be fine.”Carlos had a naughty smile. Charlotte looked at him, intrigued.“Carlos! What did you do?

I turned to the man who was talking to me. There was something in that voice that made me evoke a thousand memories. I looked at him carefully for a while, because although his face was very familiar to me, I couldn't place him. I opened my eyes like saucers and my heart stopped for a fraction of a second when I recognized the owner of those green eyes that were looking at me. In front of me was the personification of all my fears, traumas and insecurities. The man who served as a benchmark to compare all the people who came into my life after him. It was a beautiful vision, and at the same time a nightmare come true. “Antoine,” I said his name with difficulty. If the mere memory of him stirred up a lot of emotions in me, can you imagine “what his presence did to me?” The imposing figure of a six-foot-tall man lay before me. His eyes were greener than I remembered them and he had a beautiful smile (the one that brought out a couple of dimples in his cheeks) plastered on his face. He

I shook my head hard to concentrate on my friend's voice. She kept talking, but I stopped listening to her for a moment because I was thinking about Harvey, the gorgeous blond I met two months ago on one of my many girls' outings with Gabrielle, and who I started dating four weeks ago. He was divorced and had two young children. All my life I was reluctant to have anything with a man with children, because my policy was always: If I can buy a new car, ¿why buy a used one? This thought became ingrained in me as a result of living with my stepmother. It's not that our relationship was bad, but I remember a couple of times I tried to make her life miserable, just for fun. I was afraid that divine justice would take its toll on me for those years of rebellion and headaches I'd caused Valerie. But there was something about Harvey that appealed to me so much. He was very direct and upfront. When he approached me, he didn't do it with the typical cliché phrases that all men use to approac

She was silent, watching as that handsome man walked away. She didn't understand why she couldn't stop looking at him. She had seen handsome men many times. His father lived surrounded by them.
