Melissa was visibly relieved by the prognosis and nodded frantically. Her gaze then shifted into the room. "When can my son be discharged?"

"He will be moved to the ICU shortly. If his condition doesn't worsen over the next three days, we can transfer him to a regular ward for further observation," the doctor informed.

"Thank you so much, doctor!" Melissa expressed her gratitude while Matthew hugged his near-tearful wife, also extending his thanks.

"You're welcome. I need to see other patients now."

"Thank God, our Cedric is safe," Melissa murmured in relief, looking skyward with her hands clasped in prayer.

But Jeff retorted coldly, "He might as well be dead!"

"Dad, Cedric is your own grandson!" Melissa's face darkened when she heard him curse her son.

'What kind of grandfather wishes death upon his grandson?' Melissa thought.
