(Lisa's POV)

"I love you so much, Alessio," I said again, sniffing back my tears, but he only stared at me without saying a word.

Was he surprised that I had confessed my feelings out of the blue? I hadn’t expected to love him this much either.

He can't possibly send me back to California—not when my heart calls his name all the time. A few months ago, I would have gladly gone home without looking back, but things are different now.

I have made memories with him here. They may not be the cutest memories any woman would have with her man, but I treasure them because I know he isn't an ordinary man.

"Ivan," he finally spoke after a few moments of silence, and my teary eyes shifted to Ivan. I had even forgotten he was still in the room with us.

"Yes, boss," Ivan answered.

"Excuse us for a moment," Alessio said, and Ivan left without hesitation.

After Ivan left, silence resumed. He wasn’t saying anything—his dark brown eyes were just fixed on me.

"Why aren't you saying a

(Alessio's POV) "I love you so much, Alessio." It was the best thing I had ever heard. Lisa confessed her feelings for me. I hadn't seen it coming, which was why I was speechless for a moment. Even though I didn’t show how happy I was about her confession, my heart was throwing a festival of celebration. "And how do those romantic men on TV treat their women? I want to learn," I whispered to her. I wasn’t the typical romantic man, given how I was raised, but I was ready to learn—at least a little—just for her sake. She fell in love with me despite the kind of world I live in. The least I could do was make her happy, since I couldn't tell her how madly and crazily I was in love with her. Lisa placed her hand under her jaw, deep in thought, while I admired the beautiful creature in front of me. "Well, since you're new to this, you should start with something small," she grinned. "Which is?" I whispered, staring into her hazel eyes. "Feeding me," she simpered, her cheek

(Lisa's POV) "Please, Alessio," I pleaded for the umpteenth time as I followed him around his suite. "I already said I'm going to get it for you," he replied, walking to his wristwatch collection. I followed him from behind. "I know you said you would buy the velvet cake for me, but I want to go with you." "Don't be stubborn, Lisa," he groaned. "I'm not being stubborn. I just want to go with you. It's boring in here," I pouted. "That's why Isabella is here. It's her job to keep you company. Also, Vanessa—you consider her a mother figure, right? Talk to them, and I will be back before you know it," he said, putting on his shirt. "But I want to go with you. I don't want to talk to them today. I don't want to keep staying at home. I'm not allergic to the sun." "I never said you were," he murmured. "Then let me go with you. You will be with me, right? So there's nothing to worry about. The Godfather hasn't said anything in over a week now," I remarked. "And that makes

(Lisa's POV) "What stupid deal are you trying to make with the Godfather? Who do you think you are to make a deal with him?!" Bianca snapped at me. I was scared of her, but this time, I decided not to show it. She was a fellow woman like me, and even though she was part of Alessio's underworld, I shouldn't show any signs of fear. "I wasn't talking to you, Bianca. You should mind your business," I shot back, making sure my eyes held no fear. "You've really got some nerve talking to me like that, weakling!" she spat as she stood up, supporting herself with the walking stick she was holding. I looked down at her legs and saw they were bandaged. "You better sit back on the sofa, Bianca. It would save you the stress since you have three legs now," I said fearlessly. Yeah, that's what I should do. Talk back when she talks to me. I'm Alessio's woman—I have nothing to fear. "How dare you speak to me that way?!" Bianca thundered, raising her hand to slap me, but Salvatore stopp

(Alessio's POV) "Here's your velvet cake, sir," a man said to me as he handed me the box of velvet cake. I paid for it and went back to my car, with the thought Lisa couldn't wait to eat her favorite cake. But as I reached my car, the cake slipped from my hand, and the smile I was wearing disappeared when I didn't see Lisa inside. I entered my car, looking around as if she were some sort of needle that would be hard to find. Then I noticed that the glove box of my car was open, and a few euros were missing. "Where did she go?" I muttered. I got out of the car and strode toward a lady who has a small kiosk where she sells fruits. "Did you see a woman leaving that car?" I asked, speaking in Italian and pointing at my car. "What woman?" "She has blonde hair. She doesn’t look Italian," I said, hoping she had seen Lisa. The woman thought for a moment, and I tried my best to be patient so she would give me the answer I was looking for. "I didn't see a woman coming out of y

(Writer's POV) "I'm telling you, Godfather, you made a mistake accepting that deal with Lisa! Why would you even make such a deal with a weakling?" she stated, letting her anger be known to him. "That's why I agreed to her deal, Bianca," Salvatore smirked, and Bianca furrowed her eyebrows, wondering what he meant. She was furious when Salvatore accepted Lisa's deal, and her anger intensified even more when Lisa didn’t tremble upon seeing her, unlike the first time at the hospital. "What point are you trying to make here, Godfather?" Bianca asked. "Do you really think she will be able to train and accomplish a mission in just two months?" Salvatore smirked and continued. "I only agreed because I know she is going to fail, which means it will be easy to kill her," Salvatore explained, and Bianca smiled. It was almost laughable when Lisa proposed the deal, and he agreed to it because Lisa wasn’t just weak, she had no knowledge of martial arts or handling guns. Learning all of

(Lisa's POV) "What were you thinking, making such a deal with the Godfather, Lisa?!" Isabella scolded me. "Don't tell me you're going to scold me the same way Alessio did," I muttered. Ever since I left his suite yesterday, he hasn't talked to me, and I couldn't go to his suite since I was the one who left on my own and even slammed the door in his face. "If I could scold you with more than words, I would gladly do it! What were you thinking, Lisa? The Godfather isn't someone who goes back on his word. I trained to be a mobster at the clan for three years—three fucking years, Lisa! And I'm still average when it comes to martial arts. So how can you achieve such a feat in just two months? You should have thought about it more before making such a deal with him," Isabella said. She was right. I didn't think at all. I just went with what my heart told me, and I did it. But still, I wanted to believe I could do it. If Salvatore was really a man of his word, then I had nothin

(Alessio's POV) After much thought, I had decided to give Lisa a chance to be part of my underworld, not because I wanted her to win against Salvatore, but for herself as well, since she had chosen to stay in the chaotic world that I live in. Salvatore might be a man that stays true to his words, and even if she perhaps fails, he would have to kill me first because I won't allow him to touch Lisa like he had done the last time. "Really? You will allow me to join your underworld?" she asked with excitement in her voice. I barely nodded my head because it was a hard decision for me to make. But if I really wanted her to be by my side, she needed to know a few martial arts and how to handle guns because the strange caller was still lurking around, waiting for the perfect time to attack. Lisa screamed in excitement and jumped on me. We'd have fallen to the ground if I hadn't stood firmly. Her legs curled up on my waist, and she beamed at me, obviously excited about the decisio

(Lisa's POV) I kept grinning as Alessio drove toward his clan. It would be my first time seeing the underworld he ruled, and I felt so thrilled about it. When he told me he had agreed to let me join his clan, I was overjoyed, and last night was mesmerizing. It was wild, passionate sex. He made me experience what it feels like when a man teases you with his tongue. I enjoyed every bit of it and would love it if he did it again. Damn! I’m becoming more corrupt with each passing day, I grinned to myself. "What's making you so happy?" he asked when he noticed my smile. "Why don't you guess?" I teased, my eyes boring into his. Alessio glanced at me, and a naughty smile played at the corner of his lips. "You loved last night, didn’t you? And you want me to do what I did to you again, right?" he asked, his eyes flickering between the road and me. "How on earth are you capable of that? Are you sure you're not a wizard?" I asked, and he chuckled. It was still hard to get us

(Alessio's POV) The night was cold, and the sky was dark, with none of the stars coming out to display themselves because it had just rained over the whole city. I had just come out of Lisa's room after she had fallen asleep. She had cuddled herself around me, using the excuse that it was cold. I didn't complain because I had actually loved it. What she did to Bianca earlier today lingered in my mind, and I couldn't help but chuckle at it. I knew she was lying. Bianca had made an attempt to hit her, but she didn't. I had pretended not to notice it because Bianca needed to pay for lying to her. What I hadn't expected was for her to ask Bianca to lick her feet. She is my woman, after all, which is why I had ordered Bianca to do as she said. Bianca isn't someone who learns easily — she always wants it the hard way. I have been restraining myself from killing her for the sake of our childhood and the promises I made to my dad, and I do hope she doesn't go to the extent of

(Writer's POV) Bianca fumed in anger as she entered her room. She was paranoid about what Alessio had done to her. "How could you have done that to me, Alessio!" she screamed, feeling hurt. Her heart felt like it was being slaughtered into tiny pieces. When Lisa had told her to lick her feet, she hadn't expected Alessio to agree to it. She didn't just apologize to Lisa—she also licked her feet. Bianca was too scared of Alessio to even go against him. She had watched him grow, and she knew what kind of man he was. If not for his promise to his dad, she knew she would have long been dead. "This is all your fault, Lisa!" she screamed and angrily punched the dressing mirror in her room. Her punch broke the mirror, and blood began dripping from her hand, but she didn't care about the pain. The pain in her heart was more unbearable than the pain of a person burning in hell. Her heart ached. It ached and longed to be with Alessio, but she was just as useless as the "k" in "

  • In The Arms Of A Mafia Boss    The Don's woman

(Lisa's POV) I yawned loudly after I was done with my trainings for the day. Thankfully, I didn't have classes with the lady who taught me how to speak Italian. I was thrilled about that because I didn't have the energy to sit through her classes. Angelo wasn't in the clan, he had left to see his family, and it kind of felt odd not having him here. He was the only one I was used to in the clan. I miss Isabella and Vanessa. If I was home, Isabella would be filling my ears with so many stories. Where she always got her stories from was something I still didn't understand. I missed the maids too—and making coffee for them. I couldn't wait to go back home after I must've proven to Salvatore that I wasn't a weakling. I sat outside just to feel the warmth of the evening breeze. While at it, I took out my phone to look at some old pictures of mine, especially the ones Alessio had taken at Gianicolo Hills, only to remember I no longer had my phone with me and that I was holding th

  • In The Arms Of A Mafia Boss    Desire to win

(Lisa's POV) It's been a week since Alessio told me about his family. I felt pity for him because he had witnessed his own mother murder his father. It must have really been hard for him since he had no one to defend him when Salvatore heartlessly trained him. Hearing his past, I finally understood why he turned out the way he did, and why he didn't want to talk about his family. No one can grow up normal after experiencing such tragic incidents at a young age. "What are you doing?" he asked as he wrapped his arms around me from behind. I simpered then turned to look at him. "We aren't in your office, Alessio. What if the members of the clan see us together?" I muttered with a smile, looking around the shooting range. "Who cares about them?" he replied, trying to kiss me, but I resisted with a smile. "I'm training, Alessio. I don't want to get distracted," I said and shot at the shooting target, but I let out a frustrated sigh when I missed the scorning zones. "Why is it

(Lisa's POV) I still couldn't believe Alessio would do that to me. He had promised he would never hurt me, but yet he did. When he choked my neck, I pleaded with him, hoping he'd stop, but he ended up throwing me against the wall like a piece of paper. I had never imagined he would do that to me. Even though he hasn't said he loves me yet, I thought I was the most important person to him. So how could he do that to the most important person in his life? I was just looking out for him because it's been years since he saw a picture of his mother, and yet he reacted as if I had just shown him his worst nightmare. I want to hate him. I want to hate him for what he did, but I couldn't do it, because I was completely head over heels for him. When I sent him away, I felt hurt doing that to him, but it was the only way to show him I was mad at him for what he had done. I must have nine lives because I don't know how I've kept surviving with everything that has been happening to me ev

  • In The Arms Of A Mafia Boss    Choose me, please

(Alessio's POV) How could I? How could I have done that to the woman I love so much? How could I have vented my anger on her like that? I should have held back. I should have held back my anger no matter how angry I was. I shouldn't have done that to her. I should have simply torn the picture when she gave it to me. But if only she had told me where she got the picture and didn't keep insisting I missed that despicable woman, I wouldn't have lashed out at her like that. Still, it didn't justify what I did to her. I didn't just choke her almost to death, I threw her like a piece of paper, making her back land forcefully on the wall. Kindness? The woman from earlier who had an abusive husband must be mistaken. There's no single kindness inside of me. The boy from decades ago is already dead. If I still had that kindness in me, I wouldn't have done what I did to Lisa. I would have held back. I had promised her I was never going to hurt her, but still, I broke that promi

(Alessio's POV)"Where are you?" I read the message Lisa had sent me. I was about to reply when another message came through, demanding that I come back to the clan, because she had something to give me. "A gift? What kind of gift?" I texted back. She replied that she would only show it to me when I returned back to the clan. I smiled lightly, imagining how cute she must have looked while typing the message. "Don Alessio? Are you still listening to me?" the woman across from me asked, and I shifted my gaze from my phone to look at her. She had come to meet me because she claimed to have an abusive husband who beat her and her twelve-year-old child. Right now, the child was in the hospital with only a ten percent chance of survival. "Yes, I'm listening. Go on," I said, and she began sniffling. "I know it’s all my fault for marrying an abusive man. Even when everyone warned me not to, I insisted on marrying him. I tried to run away, but no matter where I hide, he always find

  • In The Arms Of A Mafia Boss    A gift for Alessio

(Lisa's POV) I have always been curious about Alessio's family. Anytime I brought up the topic, he always found a way to change it. Though he had said it was something he didn’t want to talk about, I couldn’t help but wonder why. Even Ivan had once warned me never to mention his mother to him. Bianca might be the second person I hate after the devil, but at least she was right about one thing. I can't claim to love a man and have countless sex with him without knowing anything about his family—what they look like, what happened to them, and, most importantly, his relationship with his parents. "You know everything about his family?" I asked as curiosity took over me. Bianca walked up to me, the smile on her face unwavering. "Do you think I was joking when I said I grew up with Don Alessio? We grew up together, Lisa. I ate from the same plate as him and even slept in the same bed. I knew the cheerful side of Don Alessio when he was still a kid, before he transformed into a

(Lisa's POV) "Whoa, Lisa! You're improving so much," the lady in charge of teaching me Italian complimented after I finished reading some words in Italian. Though it was hard to pull off, I was happy my efforts weren’t going down the drain. "Thank you so much, ma. But I'm still not fluent in it," I simpered. "Yeah, you're not, but you're doing a very good job. If you keep learning, you'll be perfect—not as perfect as a native speaker, but at least you'll be able to understand when someone speaks Italian," she said with a smile, her Italian-English accent evident. Some people in the clan could speak basic English, but Italian tones were always detected in their voices whenever they spoke. I was the only fluent English speaker here, which is why I was determined to learn, so I could interact with them in the language they were comfortable with. Not to forget, there was also my deal with Salvatore. I had been getting a lot of compliments on how much I was improving in terms o
