(Alessio's POV)

I quickly rushed out of my car and made my way to the vehicle that had just hit the curb. I opened the car door, and there was Lisa. Her head was on the steering wheel, bleeding from her head.

How she able to get to the front seat? I thought, but it wasn't something to dwel on at this moment.

She was unconscious

"Lisa," I uttered, blaming myself for what had happened to her.

It’s all my fault.

I should have let her go.

I shouldn’t have been so selfish to keep her with me.

If I hadn’t kidnapped her in the first place, all the dangers that befall her wouldn’t have happened.

I pulled her out of the car, and the beautiful eyes that always lit up my world were closed. This was the first time she was unconscious, with blood spilling from her head, and it scared me.

It just showed how much she meant to me and how much I loved her.

For two decades, this would be the first time I’d shared tears. With Lisa in my arms, I got into my car, not caring about the s

(Writer's POV) Salvatore's eyes were fixed on the broken gate, which had been destroyed by Alessio. Even with all the drama that had happened so far, he was still yet to believe Alessio was capable of pulling the trigger on him. He could vividly remember the five-year-old boy who always trembled at the sight of him, but that boy had grown into someone who could challenge him and someone he couldn't win over in combat. Just like how Alessio couldn't beat him in combat, the same also applied to him. He had trained Alessio into what he was today, and he expected him to be strong—but not to the extent of pulling a trigger on him. "Alessio," he muttered with a smirk, as his eyes didn’t leave the gate that had been broken by Alessio. "Godfather," one of his men approached him with a bow, and he turned to look at him. "What happened to that woman?" he asked. "She survived the accident with a minor injury. I was present when Don Alessio brought her out of the car, though I hid my

(Lisa's POV)* "Kill her," Salvatore instructed his men. My heart raced with fear as one of them brought the knife to my neck, Salvatore smirking at me. I screamed, struggling to break free, wishing I hadn't come here in the first place. Just when one of his men was about to slit my throat, he signaled him to stop. I let out a breath of relief, even though I knew I wasn't safe yet. "I'm sure Alessio will come here in search of you. How about we play a little game of survival? I'd risk your life, and it's either Alessio saves you, or you save yourself," he said, smirking like a psychopath. I struggled against the men who held me with their strong arms. "Why are you doing this to me, Salvatore? What have I done wrong?!" I screamed at the top of my lungs, even though I was terrified. I was just praying that Alessio would come to my rescue, just like he always had, even if I hated myself for always stressing him out. Salvatore lowered his head toward me, his breath fanning

(Lisa's POV) "I love you so much, Alessio," I said again, sniffing back my tears, but he only stared at me without saying a word. Was he surprised that I had confessed my feelings out of the blue? I hadn’t expected to love him this much either. He can't possibly send me back to California—not when my heart calls his name all the time. A few months ago, I would have gladly gone home without looking back, but things are different now. I have made memories with him here. They may not be the cutest memories any woman would have with her man, but I treasure them because I know he isn't an ordinary man. "Ivan," he finally spoke after a few moments of silence, and my teary eyes shifted to Ivan. I had even forgotten he was still in the room with us. "Yes, boss," Ivan answered. "Excuse us for a moment," Alessio said, and Ivan left without hesitation. After Ivan left, silence resumed. He wasn’t saying anything—his dark brown eyes were just fixed on me. "Why aren't you saying a

(Alessio's POV) "I love you so much, Alessio." It was the best thing I had ever heard. Lisa confessed her feelings for me. I hadn't seen it coming, which was why I was speechless for a moment. Even though I didn’t show how happy I was about her confession, my heart was throwing a festival of celebration. "And how do those romantic men on TV treat their women? I want to learn," I whispered to her. I wasn’t the typical romantic man, given how I was raised, but I was ready to learn—at least a little—just for her sake. She fell in love with me despite the kind of world I live in. The least I could do was make her happy, since I couldn't tell her how madly and crazily I was in love with her. Lisa placed her hand under her jaw, deep in thought, while I admired the beautiful creature in front of me. "Well, since you're new to this, you should start with something small," she grinned. "Which is?" I whispered, staring into her hazel eyes. "Feeding me," she simpered, her cheek

"I know you said you would buy the velvet cake for me, but I want to go with you." "Don't be stubborn, Lisa," he groaned. "I'm not being stubborn. I just want to go with you. It's boring in here," I pouted. "That's why Isabella is here. It's her job to keep you company. Also, Vanessa—you consider her a mother figure, right? Talk to them, and I will be back before you know it," he said, putting on his shirt. "But I want to go with you. I don't want to talk to them today. I don't want to keep staying at home. I'm not allergic to the sun." "I never said you were," he murmured. "Then let me go with you. You will be with me, right? So there's nothing to worry about. The Godfather hasn't said anything in over a week now," I remarked. "And that makes

I was scared of her, but this time, I decided not to show it. She was a fellow woman like me, and even though she was part of Alessio's underworld, I shouldn't show any signs of fear. "I wasn't talking to you, Bianca. You should mind your business," I shot back, making sure my eyes held no fear. "You've really got some nerve talking to me like that, weakling!" she spat as she stood up, supporting herself with the walking stick she was holding. I looked down at her legs and saw they were bandaged. "You better sit back on the sofa, Bianca. It would save you the stress since you have three legs now," I said fearlessly. Yeah, that's what I should do. Talk back when she talks to me. I'm Alessio's woman—I have nothing to fear. "How dare you speak to me that way?!" Bianca thundered, raising her hand to slap me, but Salvatore stopp

(Alessio's POV) "Here's your velvet cake, sir," a man said to me as he handed me the box of velvet cake. I paid for it and went back to my car, with the thought Lisa couldn't wait to eat her favorite cake. But as I reached my car, the cake slipped from my hand, and the smile I was wearing disappeared when I didn't see Lisa inside. I entered my car, looking around as if she were some sort of needle that would be hard to find. Then I noticed that the glove box of my car was open, and a few euros were missing. "Where did she go?" I muttered. I got out of the car and strode toward a lady who has a small kiosk where she sells fruits. "Did you see a woman leaving that car?" I asked, speaking in Italian and pointing at my car. "What woman?" "She has blonde hair. She doesn’t look Italian," I said, hoping she had seen Lisa. The woman thought for a moment, and I tried my best to be patient so she would give me the answer I was looking for. "I didn't see a woman coming out of y

"That's why I agreed to her deal, Bianca," Salvatore smirked, and Bianca furrowed her eyebrows, wondering what he meant. She was furious when Salvatore accepted Lisa's deal, and her anger intensified even more when Lisa didn’t tremble upon seeing her, unlike the first time at the hospital. "What point are you trying to make here, Godfather?" Bianca asked. "Do you really think she will be able to train and accomplish a mission in just two months?" Salvatore smirked and continued. "I only agreed because I know she is going to fail, which means it will be easy to kill her," Salvatore explained, and Bianca smiled. It was almost laughable when Lisa proposed the deal, and he agreed to it because Lisa wasn’t just weak, she had no knowledge of martial arts or handling guns. Learning all of

  • In The Arms Of A Mafia Boss    Like a bubble

(Lisa's POV) I betrayed the man I love and the man who loves me, and no matter what my reasons were, it wasn't justified. I had a chance to ask him about it, but rather than confronting him, I acted rashly. He lost everything. A lot of innocent souls died because of me, and it's best if I leave. If he had wanted to kill me, I would have accepted it, but since he wanted me out of his life, I will do as he says, even though it hurts being separated from him. Staring at the entrance of the airport, my tears fell down my cheeks, but I wiped them off with a sob. With the despicable thing I have done, I don't know if I could live a normal life. I will forever be haunted for betraying him and for killing innocent souls. I sniffled one last time. I made to enter the airport, but I bumped into someone. "I'm sorry," I managed to say, but fresh tears fell from my eyes and down to my cheeks when I saw I had bumped into Angelo. "Angelo," I said, nearly breaking into tears. I had

(Alessio's POV) "How long have I been unconscious?" I asked. "For a few days," Ivan answered. I sighed, trying to sit up on the bed, but Ivan quickly stopped me from doing so. "You shouldn't do that yet. Your wounds are still fresh," he said, but I ignored him and sat up on the bed, enduring the pain. Every part of my body was filled with injuries. It hurt and itched at the same time. "Where's Salvatore?" "He left a few minutes before you woke up," Ivan replied. "Is it true that Enzo destroyed everything, including my house and the clan?" Ivan looked at me and sadly nodded his head. "We lost the mobsters at the clan. The innocent maids also died from the explosion." "No single person survived?" I asked, hiding how bad I felt. "No one, Boss Alessio. We have nothing left," Ivan answered, wiping his tears, as he was too emotional to control them. I failed to protect my men. If I hadn't been trapped under Enzo's custody, none of this would have happened. "Aren’

(Writer's POV) "What did I just hear you just say? You gave who to who?" Salvatore sneered. He had booked an early flight to Rome so he could know the happenings of the clan, only for him to meet dead monsters and a destroyed clan. Lisa took in her lips, unable to say anything. Salvatore had always said she'd betray Alessio, and she felt so embarrassed because his instinct came to pass. She betrayed the man who loves her. A man who always showed up whenever she was in danger. She made a promise… but couldn't keep her promise. She was just like his mother. "Have your tongue been cut off? Repeat what you just said!" he snapped at her, and tears strolled down her eyes. No matter how much she cried, it wouldn't justify what she had done. "I didn't mean to betray him," she began sobbing. "I thought he killed my dad, so I gave him an apple injected with succinylcholine. He became weak because of it, and Enzo was able to trap him. Enzo has him in his custody and it's all

  • In The Arms Of A Mafia Boss    The attack

(Writer's POV) "Did Don Alessio answer the phone?" Isabella asked Ivan in a panicked voice, while Ivan shook his head with a sigh. "Why would Lisa even think of leaving the house?" Isabella murmured, her worries palpable. She had earlier gone to Lisa's room to talk to her, only to find out she wasn't in her room. When she got worried, she asked Ivan for help, and he looked into the surveillance cameras and they both found out that Lisa had sneaked out of the house by secretly entering the car trunk of Alessio's car. "Do you think Don Alessio has seen her already?" "I don't think so, Isabella. It's unlike him not to answer the phone either. Something seems off and I can feel it," Ivan muttered. Isabella swiped her hand through her hair in frustration. "Why can't Lisa just believe that Vanessa was indeed a spy?" "Asking questions won't do. If Alessio still doesn't know she's not in the house, then we should find her before he does." Isabella nodded, and just as they were about t

  • In The Arms Of A Mafia Boss    Regret

(Lisa's POV) "I love you so much, Lisa." Those words repeated themselves a thousand times in my ears, and fresh tears rushed down my face. These were the words I had always longed to hear from him. Alessio finally confessed his feelings to me. My glassy eyes shifted to him, and I saw the sincerity in his tears. Did he really not kill my dad? Did I accuse him wrongly? If he wasn't the one who murdered my dad, then who could have done it? "I didn't kill your dad. I will never do that to you," he whispered, and my heart shattered even more. I didn't know who to believe because my dad, who could have spoken for himself, was dead. "Enough with the emotional scenes, lovers. Tell me, Alessio, aren't you happy to see me?" he smirked. Alessio glared at him. "Why should I miss someone like you? You're still the weak person you are. Isn't that why you made me appear weak in front of you? Because you know I would always beat you to a pulp," Alessio said, despite his weakness. Enzo got

(Alessio's POV) I was all alone in my office, thinking of ways I could make Lisa forgive me, when I received a text from her, demanding we meet up. My eyebrows furrowed in surprise, wondering how she was able to leave the house because I had given my men strict warnings not to allow her leave. I sprang up from the chair and called her. It rang many times, but she didn't answer. Grabbing my jacket, I rushed out of my office and almost bumped into Angelo on my way out. He looked shocked upon seeing me. "Why are you looking at me that way? Did something happen?" I asked. "No... nothing happened?" he stuttered, his hand shaking. I didn't have time to ask him why he was reacting that way because all I could think of was going to Lisa and ask how she was able to leave the house. I left Angelo standing there and got into my car. I drove off to Gianicolo Hills, where Lisa had asked me to meet her. Arriving at the hills, she was the only one there, staring into space, lost in t

(Lisa's POV) Angelo arrived at the location the caller had given me. It was a warehouse, but from the looks of it, it was still under construction. I tried getting down from the car, but Angelo held my hand. "Don't tell me you're going in there?" "Yes, I am. That's why I asked you to bring me here in the first place." "You need to tell me what's going on, Lisa. Don Alessio will kill me if he finds out about this," his tone was etched with worry. "You don't need to worry about that. He won't ever find out unless you snitch on me. Are you going to do that?" Angelo sighed, feeling defeated. "You know I would never do that to you. I just want to know why you came here and who you want to talk to." "It's just someone I know. I just need to find out the truth." "The truth about what?" I ignored his question and got out of the car. He tried to follow me, but I stopped him from doing so. "What if you get hurt?" "I'll be fine. I can defend myself," I assured him. "Should

(Lisa's POV) I didn’t know what to do at that moment. There was no way I could possibly leave this house—not when Alessio had his eyes on me. My heart shattered as I spoke to him. Not even in my worst nightmares did I ever dream about losing my dad. Everything was happening so fast in just one day. First, Vanessa died. Then Alessio drastically changing from who he used to be into something worse. And now, I just found out that my dad was dead. It felt like my world had collapsed right in front of me. Why was all this happening to me in one single day? “I… I can't leave. Alessio’s got his eyes on me,” I sniffled. “Then it means you're not interested in knowing who killed your dad!” he snapped and hung up. “Please, don’t hang up on me!” I cried out. Sobbing, I called the number again, but he didn’t pick up. “Please answer the phone,” I cried, almost at the brink of losing myself. I wished this was all just a dream—one where I’d wake up and find Vanessa cooking for me, my dad sti

(Lisa's POV) I sat down on the bed, burying my face in my thighs and wrapping my arms around them as fresh tears dripped from my eyes. No matter how much I love him, I can't tolerate him anymore. He killed Vanessa—an innocent woman who had been so kind to me from the very first day she was brought here by that monster. More tears streamed down my face as memories of Vanessa filled my mind. It felt like a dream, but I knew it wasn’t. She was dead. The door creaked open, and he stepped inside, his hands in his pockets. “You’re finally awake?” he said, but I only gave him a hateful glare. My heart might still love him, but my mind already despised him for what he did to Vanessa. “Lisa…” he took a step closer. “Don’t. Don’t come any closer, Alessio,” I said firmly, though my eyes continued to
