Bella's POV
I groaned at the loud banging on our door disrupting my sleep. My room is located at the second floor, but even with that I could still hear the loud noise from the living room as the person tries to break in.Even with my sleepy state, I stood up and looked at my alarm on my bedside table. It's 2:13 in the morning. Who the hell would come barging to our house in the middle of the night and knock so rudely?Didn't he know that all people are sleeping in this time of hour?I groaned loudly as the knocking continued getting louder and louder every minute. The person wouldn't stop until they saw our presence.I took my robe beside the alarm clock to cover my sheer clothing.I rushed down the stairs before the loud commotion cause more trouble and wake the kids up.I wasn't expecting any visitor and I have no idea on who will this person be."Who is it?" Lisa whisper-shouted at me when she saw me coming down the stairs. I shrugged andIt's been a week since the day that Warren and his parents came barging to my house demanding to take the kids with them. Warren broke my trust when he told the truth about the twins to his parents and I was clear about my rules. If he told anyone about the twins, I will never let him come near them ever again. He broke the rule, so he's suffering the consequences. He was supposed to be with the kids today since it's weekends, but instead I'm with them eating at the rooftop of our mall.I watched as Charlie slurped her soup noisily. She loves the food, but they looked like something is still missing to make them more happier.I had told them that their father can't be with them today and they made no objections about it. I don't know if they knew the reason and heard what happened when I was arguing with Wilson that night, but my only problem is telling them that they can't meet their father ever again anymore.Right now, I won't worry about it. I won't damp
Warren's POV"Dad you came!" Charles shouted and ran towards my open arms. I hugged him tightly and he hugged me back.I still can't get over with the fact that he's now calling me dad. Before, he was so aloof. He couldn't even look into my eye and speak to me forwardly. I'm so happy that our trip to the amusement park had changed the way he views me. I'm so elated to see the happiness in his eyes as he welcomed my hug. I can't believe that he's finally comfortable around me. I had gained his trust and I will make sure not ti break it. He will never regret letting me into his life easily, same with his sister and their mother.I know that there's a long way ahead of me if I would wish to gain Bella's trust back. I had hurt her with the worst possible way that any husband can do to hurt their wife. Still, I'm willing to face everything just to have her trust again along with our children. For now, that's impossible to happen. Bella is keeping a line between us. Sh
"Buy our cupcakes and have lemonade for free!" I shouted as soon as I saw people coming nearby. The twins shouted the same thing whenever they saw people coming."Charlie, don't eat the cupcakes," Charles swatted his sister's hand when he saw her reaching out to the cupcakes on display."It looks delicious," Charlie pouted."We are supposed to sell it not eat it.""You can't eat the cupcakes we are selling right now. Don't worry, I bought extra cupcakes for us. You can eat all the flavor you want after this." I smiled at her.Soon enough, people started buying cupcakes to our stand because of our promo. If it wasn't for the free lemonades, I doubt we could be able to gain their attention. I should have thought a different product instead of cupcakes. Most of the families out here are selling cupcakes so the competition is high."Okay, I'll go around the booths to see how the other people are going," Charlie volunteered."Yes, that's a good ide
Bella's POV"B-Bella," Warren stammered. He's supposed to be in deep trouble right now along with the twins, but after the realizations I had when I was alone, I can't bring myself to be angry at him anymore. He broke my rules at the time when I don't even fully trust him, at the same time I know all this would happen. These things were inevitable. I can escape to a different country and change my identity, but in the end they will surely find their father and meet their grandparents.Whatever I do I can't keep a part of them away from my children even how much I dreaded for it to come. Someday they will surely meet in the right time and I don't want to be the villain who would try and separate them. Especially now that I found out that Warren love the kids and his parents love them equally. As long as the twins wants to meet them, I will be by their side to support and protect them."I'm sorry for meeting the kids in secret," he apologized with his face ful
Bella's POV"Mom, why don't you want to come?" Charles asked me for the third time.I was fixing his bow tie when he asked me a question that I had answered many times. Both of them had been trying to convince me to come to their family dinner. If they only knew that I don't get along with their grandparents and especially with Warren's other close relatives."I can't come because I have a lot important things to do.""But you said that we are more important to you than anything," Charlie argued."That's true, but what am I going to do there?""If they are going to officially welcome us to their family, then they should officially welcome you too because you are our mother," Charles said."Listen, I've told you both before that there's a lot of things that had happened that you cannot understand because you are still young. Just trust me, okay? I'm doing what's best for us."Charles and Charlie didn't seem convinced. They still want me to
Warren's POV"Your mom is busy? Well, how she's doing?" Everett asked the kids further. He's asking them question so he could get close to them."She's fine, do you know my mother?" Charlie asked him."Of course I do. We use to hang out together with your father and Ivy.""What are you doing outside alone with Jasmine? The people are inside, you should come and join us," I interrupted their conversation, fearing that the kids will ask more questions and Everett will tell them things that they weren't suppose to know."We were inside. We just came out because the wind and the view out here is nice. We also don't want to stress out Lucinda," Everett answered and turned his attention to me.The moment that his conversation with the children ended, the twins started running off around the place by themselves just like they did when I toured them inside the house. They were caught up by their own world again.I sat beside Everett's table and they b
The house is filled with people and although all the people that are invited were close to our family. I don't recognize most of the guest that came, but they all knew who I am.I had met some of them when I was a little boy, leaving me no memory of who they were.As I try to look for my father, I get delayed by people calling me over to their conversation, asking me questions and telling me stories that I don't remember happening.I finally saw my father drinking champagne with his peers by the fireplace. All of them had solemn faces, talking something important. Maybe it's about the business again."Father," I called him in a soft whisper, but his friends still noticed me."Son!" My father said loudly and placed his hand over my shoulder.I raised my hand and shook hands with his friends, that I don't recognize.Father have a lot of friends and connections in and out of the country. He calls a lot of people friends and I can't memorize them all.
"Charles!" I called out to my son worriedly and went after them. Before I could even take a step forward, mom grabbed my arm to stop me."Talk to the twins and tell them to accept Ivy as their stepmother. It's important that we take the twin's side so we can take them from Bella and you could be with them and Ivy forever," mom told me seriously.I scoffed at what she said. "Do you really have no heart at all even to your grandchildren?" I asked her in disappointment. I actually thought that she cared for them the same way that I do. It turns out that they just like them because they are their grandchildren, just like how I'm just their son. They are treating us as an investment, an emergency food, an object that they control to get what they want."They are just kids, Warren, that's why they are emotional. They just need to spend time with Ivy and let them know each other-""They are kids!" I yelled at her, interrupting her words. "You can't force them to accept
