Warren's POV
"Your mom is busy? Well, how she's doing?" Everett asked the kids further. He's asking them question so he could get close to them."She's fine, do you know my mother?" Charlie asked him."Of course I do. We use to hang out together with your father and Ivy.""What are you doing outside alone with Jasmine? The people are inside, you should come and join us," I interrupted their conversation, fearing that the kids will ask more questions and Everett will tell them things that they weren't suppose to know."We were inside. We just came out because the wind and the view out here is nice. We also don't want to stress out Lucinda," Everett answered and turned his attention to me.The moment that his conversation with the children ended, the twins started running off around the place by themselves just like they did when I toured them inside the house. They were caught up by their own world again.I sat beside Everett's table and they bThe house is filled with people and although all the people that are invited were close to our family. I don't recognize most of the guest that came, but they all knew who I am.I had met some of them when I was a little boy, leaving me no memory of who they were.As I try to look for my father, I get delayed by people calling me over to their conversation, asking me questions and telling me stories that I don't remember happening.I finally saw my father drinking champagne with his peers by the fireplace. All of them had solemn faces, talking something important. Maybe it's about the business again."Father," I called him in a soft whisper, but his friends still noticed me."Son!" My father said loudly and placed his hand over my shoulder.I raised my hand and shook hands with his friends, that I don't recognize.Father have a lot of friends and connections in and out of the country. He calls a lot of people friends and I can't memorize them all.
"Charles!" I called out to my son worriedly and went after them. Before I could even take a step forward, mom grabbed my arm to stop me."Talk to the twins and tell them to accept Ivy as their stepmother. It's important that we take the twin's side so we can take them from Bella and you could be with them and Ivy forever," mom told me seriously.I scoffed at what she said. "Do you really have no heart at all even to your grandchildren?" I asked her in disappointment. I actually thought that she cared for them the same way that I do. It turns out that they just like them because they are their grandchildren, just like how I'm just their son. They are treating us as an investment, an emergency food, an object that they control to get what they want."They are just kids, Warren, that's why they are emotional. They just need to spend time with Ivy and let them know each other-""They are kids!" I yelled at her, interrupting her words. "You can't force them to accept
I raised my head to stop my tears from falling. I don't want them to see that their father crying."You gave up, and now?" Charles asked softly."Now I'm willing to make everything right but it's too late. I am four years late.""Mom used to tell us that if you want something, you must do something about it. Nothing will happen if you just sit there and wait for some miracle to happen. It's like giving up again for the second time," Charlie told me."You can't give up now, dad. You're four years late, but you just made progress. If you really love mom and you want to make things right, then make things right," Charles told me.I turned to look at them and saw hope and trust in their eyes as they look at me. Both of them had put their trust in me that I will bring back things to normal again and I don't want to disappoint. Not again, not after the disappointments I gave them in their four years of life.------------------------"Warren!" Mother call
Bella's POVThe kids were sleeping heavily after sleeping late. Warren didn't brought them home in time, missing their bedtime schedule.I'm suppose to wake them up, since it's already time for breakfast, but seeing them deep in their slumber convinced me to let them wake up anytime they want. It's Saturday, and Warren is suppose to bring them out today just like what we agreed to. I'm in no way going to wake the twins up just so they can go out and be with each other on time. Besides, it's his fault that the twins are so tired today.Even I, am suffering from lack of sleep. I've been waiting for them to come home last night while watching the clock tick as time pass by. I don't know how I stayed awake that long without drinking any coffee. I was just excited for them to be home.I sat on Charles's bed and stared at his face. A smile appeared on my face as he looks so much like his father. I'm expecting him to still be sleeping in this time of the morning. H
Bella's POVI am surprised by Warren's sudden plan of taking the kids to vacation in the middle of their school year. There's no need to take the kids in a useless month vacation that can only cause them trouble, but he is so persistent. He really wanted to take the kids somewhere and I doubt that there's an amount of no that can make him stop his plans.I remembered when he once had this kind of impulse decision. He prepared a sudden trip to France that lasted in a month vacation to make up for what he did to me. He was restless after a simple mistake that he did.He only ignored me for a week, but he felt more guilty than a serial killer. I couldn't believe that he is the same man who he felt nothing after he slapped the divorce papers on my face and pushed me out of our house under the pouring rain.It took me so long to realize who is the real him. He's a great actor and could win an oscar if he pursued an acting career. He was so good that he fooled his wife
Warren's POVI stared at my children's baby pictures in awe. They were so cute, and innocent like little angels sleeping in the hospital's nursery room.I wanted to reach my arms into the picture and touch their soft skin and carry them to my heart. I want to hear their soft cries and their baby words, if I could only turn back time. If I could only come back to when they were babies and not miss a thing about them."This is Charles and this is me," Charlie said and pointed at Charles which is the baby wearing blue clothes and pointed the other one which is her, wearing pink baby clothes. Both of them looked alike and you couldn't even tell which one is male and female in the pictures. All babies looked alike when they just came out of their mother's womb. I couldn't believe that I was once a baby, someone who looked like these babies in the picture.I flipped to the next page and saw pictures of them sleeping on the crib when they got home."Their
Bella’s POVThe tapes rolled and the video started moving through our television.Warren and the twins were sitting on the carpet comfortably, watching the important events of their life flash before them. They were silent as they watched the videos, but I was filled with many emotions inside. Each video reminded me of a memory and the emotions I had while taking them."Lottieee," my voice squealed in the video. "Your walking! You're finally walking!" I shouted in glee."Bababababa," Charlie babbled. She had a bright smile on her face, she was so happy that she's finally standing with her two legs."Now Charles, look at your sister. She's finally walking and soon you'll finally learn how to walk," I told Charles and directed the camera to him. He's sitting in his walker and looking at me cluelessly as I talked to him. He was still small and chubby at the time and he even has a drool falling at the side of his lips.I smiled when I rememb
Warren continued staring at me with lots of questions in his head. He wasn't satisfied with my answer, but I doubt that there's more to tell him.Should I just tell him everything? Should I just tell him the whole truth? What difference would it make if I told him that after our divorce, I was so lost, broken and in grief especially that I was pregnant and I will have to raise them by myself.I was jobless, I don't even have a penny to pay for my fare. All I own was left in the mansion because they refused to give me anything that could protect me form the storm and the harsh wind.As if that wasn't enough, I found out that the people I thought were my biological parents were actually my kidnappers who took me from my real family when I was a baby. Then a few days after that, when I was just about to move on and stand up with both of my feet. Ivy came and disrupted my life. She threatened and me and placed me and my babies life in danger. She even went
