(Who Sent You?)

Brittany’s POV

“Hey….wait…what are we doing” I asked Jane as we sneak into the clinic. She brought out a syringe from her pocket, inserting it into an ampoule as she drew out its content.

“Trying to get in of course”

“With a syringe” I asked in my lowest voice. We are actually at the rare entrance to the clinic; Jane suggested the entrance as the best place to take.

“No….I’m gonna use this to stab the guard in charge of the clothes section. We are gonna change into a nurse outfit and carry out our plans. If the mole is still in this clan then Nora’s life is definitely not safe. We need to be fast with our move” She muttered. I agreed with her as we went immediately went in.

“Hey, you there….this is not a visiting time, and where are you both coming from” They huge guard asked, staring intently at us. He probably couldn’t see our face because of the face mask and cap we are putting on to hide our identity.

“Oh hi….cutie…we were asked to come here by the doctor” Jane muttered, while I nodded along. He frowns scrutinizing our dresses

“What do you mean, the doctor can’t send you here without informing me” He scoffs. I looked at Jane, as she winked at me, taking gentle steps towards the guard

“Well……you know…..the doctor….actually didn’t send us…..wanna know who sent us” She smirked. His hand was already going to his gun as he tried cocking it, but Jane was swift enough. She kicked him in his groin while I gave him a head cut, as he groans in pain. Without wasting much time, she pierced him with the syringe, pouring its content into his skin. He passed out without much force.

“Phew…that was close” Jane smiled looking at the unconscious guard

“Yea….but I think…”

“He looks cute…geez..never knew we got cute guards over here” She beamed, while I scoff

“That’s not what I wanted to say. Let’s get out of here before anyone finds us” I chipped in

“Oh…yea…I will just come back later to woo him, don’t you think so” She winked, while I rolled my eyes. She laughed softly

“Come on, let’s leave, I know you are pissed already” She stated as we leave the place.

We managed to disguise ourselves as nurses and went into Nora’s ward. She was fast asleep, perhaps enjoying herself in her dreamland, but we ain’t got time. We tapped her lightly on the part of her body that wasn’t burnt as she stirs in her sleep. Her eyes flickered open gently but suddenly flip open with full force on recognizing us.

“Harggg” She gasps in fright

“Hey buffalo, long time no see” Jane wriggled her brow

“Hope we didn’t disrupt your sleep” I smirked. She shook her head, still afraid

“Ok, since we ain’t disturbing you like your stated, then start talking” I command, while Jane turned on the little recorder we brought along

“I….i…arhh” She groan in pain, holding her neck, signifying that she couldn’t talk

“Don’t play b!tch with me Nora, I know you can speak, if not well, but try to say something before I end your life” I threatened.

“I will speak…please…I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt you” She cried with tears rolling down her eyes. I didn’t give a damn about her fake tears, as I scoff

“Really, fine then, if you didn’t mean it, speak and set yourself free, who sent you?” I growled. Jane restarted the recording again, placing it close to her mouth, due to her inability to speak louder

“Clara….” She mumbled

“What?” Jane feign innocence, while I stayed rigid

“Yes…she sent me to give you the cream. It wasn’t my idea though, something led to it” Nora noted

“Explain all, and this time we are gonna start the recording again, I don’t want my voice or hers (Jane) to sound in it, tell us all that you know and we will leave here peacefully” I said, making my voice low enough. She gulps down nothing and started talking

“I used to be jealous of you Brittany; jealous of your beauty, jealous of the fact the Boss likes you and everyone around too. Jealous about the fact that you have two good friends that are always ready to help you in all circumstances, I also needed that for myself but got none. I’m known to be a lazy ass, heavy sleeper and weakling. I didn’t have the best guy as a boyfriend, and even when I tried wooing Brad to make me his, he usually turn me down; but he seem to be your very good friend. I hated that fact, but couldn’t do anything about it”

“Not until Clara came to me, she stated that she notice my dislike for you and wants us to work together against you. She also dislikes you and never for once will she wish for you to continue living in the clan house. She said that you took her boyfriend (macho) away from her, acting like a beauty goddess all around. She dislikes you so much that she wishes your death. But she ain’t gonna do that so as not to implicate herself. After that day, she started being close to me, buying me gift and so on”

“Then about a week ago, she came to me looking really pissed; she said that you did something to her that made her angry and want to pay you back. She bought me the gift I brought home that day and gave me the cream. She said it is the trending cream on net, giving one to me. I was still excited when she brought out another. I asked her if she is giving me two but she said the other is for you. Frowning, I asked her why she wanted you to also have it but she smiled and said that it has been poisoned, but the poison is just a minor one. It will make you lose your beauty by bring out red rash on your body”

“I never knew it was acid; I believed her and took it. She gave it a mark which I can use in differentiating it. When I gave it to you that day, I began watching you to see if you used it and watch your reaction, but got none because you didn’t make use of it. I used mine and it was good on my skin not until yesterday morning when I rubbed it and this happened. I still don’t understand, but I felt it that morning that the cream I rub wasn’t mine; but I just don’t want to be late for the meeting, so I shrug it off.

Clara made me this way; she will surely pay for what she did. I’m really sorry Brittany, please forgive me” She finished her narration with flood of tears streaming down her eyes. I felt weak for a moment; so this should have happened to me if I had rubbed the cream. What a wicked world we are, is it a sin to be beautiful, or loved by many? I asked no one in particular. Jane noticed my sober mood; she has already stopped the recording, saving it.

“Hey” She tapped me

“We need to leave now, I think someone is coming” She whispered. I noticed the sound of footstep too as my heart race. We tried finding a secret route but the footstep was already at the doorpost, and within a second, it flipped open.

The ringing of my phone woke me up as I yawn loudly, staring at the wall clock. It was just 7:00 in the morning, shit, I forgot to do usual morning exercise, well let’s say last night was a hell of wonders making us sleep late. I glance at Jane who was sleeping on Nora’s former bed, snoring slightly as I smiled a little. The phone rang up again jolting me out of my thoughts. It was Brad calling.

“Hey babe” I smiled

“Morning darling, what’s up”

“I’m cool…you”

“Just tired, you sound stressed, any problem.” I asked getting concerned

“Naa, why are you tired what’s wrong. Wait, don’t tell me I woke you with this call, you sound sleepy” He stated as I chuckled

“Yea, you guess right, just waking up”

“Really, that’s strange; you are always up early, what happened last night. Did Macho call for you?” he asked

“Noo…it’s been weeks since I met with him, he is too busy for that these days, and there are many girls in the clan that can satisfy him more than I could. So….”

“So……??” He asked, I laughed

“What?? Fine, ok, I and Jane had a bit girl time last night so we slept late, ok now”

“Yea….can I come see you over there, I have some news to tell you since you are just waking up, you won’t know what’s going on”

“Get up and check out through the window” I did as he said and saw some of the clan members moving here and there

“Hey tell me, what’s wrong”

“I’m already at your door, open up”

I got up and open the door for him as he came in

“Don’t tell me you are already close by before calling me” I stated, while he shrug, cutting the phone call

“Hope no one saw you when coming in” I asked

“Why, you are my friend, so what if they see me. There is no restriction for a guy to visit the ladies suite; this is a clan, not a school”

“Yea I know, just don’t wanna get on Macho’s bad side”

“No one is gonna tell on us” He assured. I shrug

“You look good” He winked. I was just in my nighties and it is damn transparent, showing my full b00bs

“Pervert” I rolled my eyes, he chuckled and his eyes went to Jane who was still snoring

“Never knew she sleeps this way” he laughed, I didn’t mind laughing along

“So why are you here, you said you have some news…”

“Yea….boss sent me on a secret mission; I just want to see you face before leaving. And fortunately, I got to see more than the face” He smirked. I folded my arms on my b00bs

“Hey…don’t do that…they are mine you know” he scoffs

“Whatever….how long are you gonna be gone…I’m missing you already’ I pouted

“Awwnn….perhaps three days..i will quicken up the mission, so that I can come back for you”

“Ok…”

“Another news…but it’s kinda bad and good”

“What?”

“Nora is dead…doctor confirm it this morning” He noted. I nodded

“Ain’t you surprise?”

“I know she will die anyway, she can’t survive that acid, it’s damn dangerous” He nodded and sighed

“Yea….so before I go…” I quickly stared at Jane, and before I could look at why he was staring at her. He flipped my head forward, pulling me into a lasting k**s, nibbling on my lower lips as I reciprocated in the same pace. He pinched my te@t from the garment, fondling my b00bs a little; I let out a soft mo@n, enjoying it, but it didn’t last for long. He broke the k**s and pecked my nose.

“Hey…. Macho might call for a meeting soon, and investigations will be carried out on who killed Nora, she didn’t die of the acid, she was murdered. The doctor found some poison in her system, she could have lived. I know that Clara is smart; she will be the one behind this and might want to taint you with it. But try to be strong my dear; how I wish I will be here to see how things go and defend you, but too bad I won’t. Don’t allow them to win over you by making you weak. Stand on your ground and defeat them, and trust me, Macho will believe you, okay” he stated. I smiled and k**sed him again

“Yes…I will”

“Ok…I need to go now, make sure no one touch my properties before I come back” He winked, referring to my body

“Sure Mr. My Properties” I mocked, laughing. He blew me k**ses and left the room. I sigh, turning round to see Jane still sleeping

“Hmm….so what is Clara planning to do this time” I thought, remembering the scene of last night, and how we managed to escape.
