Chapter Thirty-two

Emily arrived into Madison Middle School the following morning, filled with both resolve and anxiety. The note from Principal Andrews had kept her up most of the night, her mind racing with potential outcomes. As she reached his office, she took a deep breath and braced herself for what was to follow.

She gently tapped on the door and heard a faint "Come in."

Principal Andrews glanced up as she arrived, his gaze solemn but not harsh. "Emily, please sit down."

Emily sat with her hands securely clutched in her lap. "You wanted to see me?"

"Yes," Principal Andrews said, folding his hands on the desk in front of him. "I've been reviewing the evidence you presented at the board meeting, as well as additional information that has come to light."

Emily's heart hammered. "And?"

"While your presentation was thorough and compelling, there have been more complaints," he added, his voice full of anxiety. "Not only from parents and teachers, but also from students." "The situation is becoming more
