Emily and Will departed the boardroom, their spirits buoyed by their partial win. Emily's phone rang with a with message as they headed down the corridor. She was buried in concentration when Claire Montgomery approached them with a smug look.

"Well, well, well," Claire remarked with a sarcastic tone. "Looks like you're not out of the woods yet, Ms. Carter."

Emily's expression hardened at the sight of Claire. "What are you doing here, Claire?" "Haven't you made enough trouble?"

Claire smiled wider. "Oh, I just wanted to check how things were progressing. I hear you put on quite a show in there. But, honestly, I'm more interested in what happens next."
