That Can't Be True

“What the hell is wrong with me?” I asked rhetorically.

“Are you sure you are alright?” Lance asked again.

“What, no. I can’t feel my legs. Why can’t I feel my legs?!” I panicked.

Oh shit I could not move them.

“What the hell is this?!” I screamed at him, not caring if I caused unnecessary attention or not.

“Calm down Hayley,” he said to me. “Grey go and call Dorcas, she’s in the library. Sonia help us to call Mr Jones, he’s in the hospital. Tell them to meet us in my room. Now.”

They both nodded and sped right past us after Lance ordered. He held me by my waist and lifted me up bridal style, walking to our room.

When we reached the room, Lance placed me gently on the bed. Brushing my hair to the side, he whispered soothing words to me.

“Why can’t I feel my legs?” I asked for the umpteenth time. “Will I be able to walk again?”

“Shh, that is how it is. Your body is trying to adjust to the illness, it happened to me too. With the help of a witch and a doctor, you will be alright,”
