Chapter Four: The Future Daughter-In-Law

"I cooked your favorite vegetarian dish. And there's newly arrived peaches, strawberries and avocados from your family's farm." the old woman informed her with a smile.

"Wow! Thank you so much! You really know my favorites. And thanks to you, Lisa and Karina for taking care of my needs everyday..." she thanked the other younger helpers.

"We're happy to do this for you, Miss Amanda." Lisa smilingly answered

"She's right, Miss Amanda. Go ahead and eat a lot." Karina joins in their conversation.

"Wait, where are Daddy and Mommy?" Amanda suddenly asked.

"Your Daddy went to the office immediately after breakfast because they said they had a Board Meeting. Your Mommy went to a Charity Program because they will be giving out another scholarship grant to the children of the company's employees." Mrs. Chavez explained.

"Is that so? It's sad to eat alone. Please join me since I can't finish the food alone." Amanda smilingly suggested.

"Well, your wish is our command. Let's join her, girls." Mrs. Chavez readily agrees.

"Thank you so much, Miss Amanda" Lisa and Karina said in unison, while looking obviously happy.

One of the rules in their household is to treat the helpers equal, and as part of their family. They sometimes eat, go on a trip, and have a holiday celebration together... It's one of the reasons why many of their staff stay with them for decades.

While the four of them are having brunch, they are also having a nice and relaxing conversation.

EMMETT ALBREICHT.

Emmett picked up his fiancée, Amanda, from her office because they are going to attend his mother's birthday party, back at their hometown, which is in Walnut Creek. It's going to be a four-hour-drive from the big city, so that's why they need to be early to avoid the evening rush traffic.

Four hours passes by quickly, and now they are making their way inside the Albreicht family huge estate...

After a few minutes, Emmett finally parked his car and steps out from the vehicle. He went towards the passenger's seat side and opened the door for Amanda. 

They were greeted by a middle-aged man, and he is Henry, a long-time butler of the Albreicht Family. 

"Welcome back home, Master Emmett." the man happily greeted Emmett. 

Amanda lets out an amused smile when the butler called Emmett as "Master."

"I'm really glad to see you again, Henry. How have you been?" Emmett smilingly asked, after giving their butler a hug.

"I've never been better, and it's all thanks to Master and Mistress Katherine." the man happily responded.

"Oh, forgive my manners... Henry, I would like you to meet my fiancée, Amanda Montserrat... Amanda, I would also like you to meet our efficient, ever loyal and best butler, Henry. He's been with our family ever since I was a baby." Emmet started with the introductions.

"A pleasure to meet you today, Madame Amanda." the old man cordially greeted her, and extended his hand for a handshake.

Amanda smilingly answered his handshake.

"I'm glad to meet you as well."

"You must be feeling tired travelling for four hours. Let me escort you to your room so that you can freshen up. Please follow me."

Henry carried their bags, and they escorted them upstairs. They entered a big room, Amanda was secretly impressed at the grandiose interior design of this room. Her future mother-in-law got good taste. 

"Wow, everything is just the same even before I left for Wyndham University..." Emmett suddenly spoke.

"Yes, Master Marco. Mistress Katherine instructed to keep everything as it is so that you can feel at home once you get back." Henry informed him.

"Speaking of my mother, where is she? How about my father?" Emmett curiously asks their butler.

"Madame Katherine is having a charity program at the local municipal hall. The Old Master is doing his usual golfing activities with his business partners. They said they will be back before dinner time, and they will meet the two of you later tonight." Henry informed Emmett on his parents' whereabouts.

"I see. Well, we can take a rest for a few hours while we wait for them." Emmett suggested towards Amanda. 

"That's a very good idea. And while you're at it, would you like me to prepare something for your tea time?" Henry recommended.

"That's perfect. We will be waiting at the patio. Thank you, Henry." Emmett thanked their butler.

"You're very much welcome, Master."

After a few minutes, Henry heads out to kitchen to prepare their tea time snacks.

Ananda smiled at her future husband, while looking amused.

"So... You're called as a "Master," huh." she started.

Emmett shook his head, while looking embarrassed.

"I tried telling Henry to just call me by my name, but I guess habits die hard."

"Well, I can understand that. You told me awhile ago that Henry has been with your family since you were a baby?" Amanda inquired. 

"Oh, yes. He's like a second father to me. He's been part of our family for almost two decades." Emmett responded.

"He's obviously happy to see you again." Amanda added.

"I know... And I know that he's also trying his damn best to hold back his tears... Anyway, let's continue this talk later. For the meantime, you should take a shower and change into comfortable clothes. I'll meet you at the patio."  suggested Emmett.

Amanda nodded as an answer. 

"Okay. I'll see you later."

As soon as Emmett walks out from the room, Amanda surveyed the place. She actually like the overall interior design of the room, but she still prefers the design at their own mansion.

Anyway, she won't be living at this house because she and Emmett made an agreement that they will have their own house once they're officially married...

She decided to open her luggage bag and chose a suitable clothes. She went inside the bathroom to take a shower. She will soak herself into the warm bathtub and she wants to relax before meeting Emmet's parents not as a girlfriend, but as their future daughter-in-law...
