Chapter Six: The Wedding of the Year

"The Master and Madame arrived at the mansion fifteen minutes ago. The Master is currently at the library, indulging himself with an excellent book and a glass of brandy, while the Madame is in her room upstairs, trying to freshen up before having dinner with you. If you will allow me to say this, there's no need fo you to worry because they are busy with their own activities." Henry, the Albreicht's long-time family butler, reassures Emmett and Amanda.

At the same time, Emmett and Amanda heaved a sigh of relief after they heard Henry.

"That's good to know, then. Honey, you can go to your room first and try to freshen up before we start having dinner with my parents. I'll go to my room to take a shower and have a change of clothes, too. Henry will just call us once the dinner table is ready." Emmett suggested to his future wife.

"That's a fantastic idea, and I couldn't help but to agree,  Young Master. Take your time and I will just notify you and Miss Amanda once the dinner table is ready." Henry said, while nodding in agreement.

"Alright, then. I'll do my best to become presentable to my future parents-in-law." Amanda agreed in return.

Once Amanda reaches the guestroom where she's going to stay temporarily, she quickly opened the closet and carefully picks a proper wardrobe for her dinner date with Emmett's parents.

Her own parents taught her about good manners, and how to effectively speak and act with class and finesse, as she is the only heir carrying the Montserrat's family name. Her father and mother has always been reminding her that she should think before she acts, and she should be careful of every actions she makes. Any good or bad behaviour will always reflect the entire family. At a very young age, she's already aware that she's always at the spotlight, and every media are watching her every move. She is doing her best not to tarnish her family's good reputation in the elite society.

After a few minutes, Amanda decided to wear a semi-formal dress which is not too revealing and not too prudish, but it can still be considered as expensive and stylish.

After choosing the perfect accessories and right shoes to wear, Amanda decided to go to the bathroom for a quick shower.

After a few minutes, Amanda Emerges out from the bathroom. She started blowdrying her hair, applied a light make up on her face. She doesn't want to apply too much make up because she's going to attend an intimate dinner, and she wants too look simple and fresh infront of Mr. and Mrs Albreicht. 

Afterwards, she finally slips on her chosen dinner cocktail dress, and for the "grand finale," she adorned her ears, neck, and hand with expensive-looking jewelries and finally slips into her stilettos.

Before she can finally step out from the room, she sprayed her her body with her favorite perfume, and she made sure that her oval-shaped purple diamond engagement ring  that was given to her by her fiance' is perfect in her finger. She wants Mr. and Mrs Albreicht to see her engagement ring.

But it would be really nice if the ring is given by---!

Amanda's train of thoughts stops in a halt when she heard someone knocking at the door. She gave herself one, last look at the mirror, then afterwards, she stood up and she's now walking her way to the door.

She lets out a big smile when she saw her fiance', Emmett, standing by the door.

"You look exquisite, honey." Emmett said, with a look of admiration in his eyes while staring at her without even blinking.

"Why, thank you, honey. You look dashing as well." Amanda smilingly complimented her future husband.

"You look so beautiful that I want us to have a date privately, but Mr.Edward Albreicht and Mrs. Katherine Albreicht are waiting for us at the dining room." Emmett informs her.

"We should get going. We don't want to make them wait." Amanda nodded in return.

While they are making their way to the Albreicht's dining room, Amanda suddenly spoke again.

"Do you think your parents will like me, Emmett?" she suddenly asked.

"What a silly question, honey! They liked you for a long time already! You already met them at one of the charity events, before we started dating, right? And this will be the second time meeting them." exclaimed Emmett.

"Come to think of it, you're right." Amanda said in return.

She met Mr. Edward and Mrs. Katherine Albreicht at a certain charity event. It was an auction event, and the proceeds are worth million of dollars and it will be donated at many chosen orphanages from all around the country. But what she can clearly remember was Emmett's parents and her own parents were excitedly talking about the possibility of an arranged marriage between them.

She and Emmett tried going on a date, just to test the waters, then after that, they started dating exclusively. She feels like everything went by so fast, and the next thing she knew, they are already engaged!

Emmett proposed to her  at one of the romantic cities in the world, which is Paris, France. She chose to celebrate her birthday there, as she was also invited at the Paris Fashion Week. She can't miss the opportunity to be at the prestigious Fashion Week.

Emmett surprised her on the day of her birthday by flying to Paris without her knowledge. They had a lovely dinner  at their favorite fancy restaurant, then afterwards, they went for a stroll at night, where they can see the iconic Eiffell Tower.

And lo and behold, Emmett suddenly went on his one knee while holding an exquisite purple oval diamond engagement ring surrounded with small white diamonds which sparkled beautifully at night.

And in one snap of a finger, Emmett finally pops the question.

"Amanda Montserrat, will you give me the pride and honor to be Mrs. Emmett Albreicht?" Emmett smilingly asked her.
