Chapter 77

Hayden POV

I had left the meeting so as not to lose it and crash Rylan's head on the table.

Flicking on the lights of the kitchen after I had walked in, I walked straight to my mini refrigerator.

I grabbed a chilled carton of juice, gulped it down before taking out a packet of cigarettes from my jacket pocket. I took out a stick, lit it and took a puff to ease my mind.

I brought out my phone and saw over ten missed calls from Skye. He had been trying to reach me some minutes after he had dropped me off but I was too upset to talk.

I guess it's quite urgent, if not he wouldn't have been trying to reach out to me.

Opening the mindlink, I puffed out a whirl of smoke.

"Hey, Hayden," Skye said when his side of the link opened up.

"Yeah, what's wrong?" I asked, sensing the worryingness in his voice.

"Something happened here?"

"Huh? What happened over there?" I asked, dropping my cigarette on the ashtray on the countertop.

"After we left, some rogues attacked."

"What?"

"Yes, some daring stu
