3rd Person POV...
. "I don't care if someone stole it, you still have a week to get it to me, so I suggest you find a way to get it back," Carlos yelled on the phone. "I will, but it might take a while," Christian replied. "Don't let it take longer than a week. You don't want to find out what I'll do if you cross me, hermano!" Christian didn't like Carlos' tone and the threats it implied. He decided to agitate his brother, just to see what lengths he was willing to go to get his share of the diamonds. "And if I fail to get it to you by a week, what then? You're gonna kill more of my drivers? Huh? Come to my office and kill a bunch of random employees I've never met?" "Ah! I see what you're trying to do, Chris. Well played! And you're right. Killing a bunch of random people who mean nothing to you is pointless in scaring you into cooperation...but killing a family member will surely be enough incentive," Carlos said sinisterly. Christian faced his mansion from the gate where he stood, the hairs on his back were standing erect. He was feeling nervous with where the conversation on the phone was headed. "You're the only family I have left, brother," Christian answered. "I guess that would make your seventeen-year-old daughter, Caroline a pot made of clay,"Carlos responded and after he did, Christian's eyes shot open. "How did...? "I'm the leader of the Mafia, brother. Information on wealthy and affluent people is one of the perks of my position...so is espionage. I can easily plant a spy in your mansion to slit her throat in her sleep with just a word, so don't test me,” Carlos threatened. “If you try to hurt my daughter, I swear to God, I will kill you…” “Save your threats, brother, and get me what I want. Or your daughter pays the price,” Carlos said just before hanging up. His last sentence caused Christian to toss his phone away and dash back towards the house, just to make sure Caroline was okay and wasn't in any danger. . . . "I didn't know your father had a kid," Sylvia said to the young girl. "That's because he doesn't tell his whores everything about himself," Caroline replied. "I'm not—” "What?" Caroline cut her off, "You're not his whore? He isn't paying you to be here?" She asked with a raised brow. Sylvia could see that the young girl wasn't excited by her presence, and although she was being rude, she still wanted to start off on the right foot with her. "I'm not a whore," she replied. "Whatever! Just make sure to stay away from me while you're here. Being caged in here like an animal is already annoying enough," Caroline replied. Just then, Christian dashed into the study where the girls were and walked over to his daughter, looking all concerned. "Caroline. Are you alright, honey?" "I'm fine. I'm pretty sure your new whore needs you more than I do. She seemed a little shocked to suddenly find out that I exist," Caroline replied aggressively before walking away from her father. “Carol,” he called out but she didn't stop until she was out of the room. Sylvia could do nothing but stare at Christian, waiting for him to break the tension by saying something. "I thought you left for a meeting?" She asked instead. "I changed my mind. I'll be taking the rest of the day off," he took a step closer, "I was going to tell you about Caroline tonight. That was the plan, it's why I wanted you to live here during the duration of our deal." "It's fine! You don't owe me any explanation," Sylvia said modestly. "But I do," Christian added before walking to her. As he stood in front of her, Sylvia could feel her heartbeat accelerating because of how close he'd gotten. She could feel the heat coming off him, and when he lifted her face up to look at his, she saw the desire in his eyes. "I don't let just anyone know about my daughter. I'm very protective of her, but with you, I think I can feel relaxed a little. That's how comfortable I am around you," he said. He took her hand in his and kissed her finger, one after the other. Sylvia could feel her legs about to buckle because of how sensual Christian was being with her. She was anticipating his lips on hers so badly that when it finally came, she let it take over completely. He wrapped his around her waist and brandished her lips with the heat of his, sending pangs of energy through her body; energy that reverberated through his skin as well... A kiss that was surely a preview of what was bound to happen between them as time went on. ************** With one of the diamonds in her hand, Dana smiled at herself, proud of her findings and eager to make the most of it. She took out her phone and dialed a number, and after she got connected, she spoke. "Did you find a buyer yet?" "It's not even been half a day since you called about this! It's going to take a while to find someone who's willing to risk it. There's only one stone, right?" The man on the other line asked. "Yeah! It's just one rock," Dana replied, “How long will it take?” “I'll get you a deal in a week. Try to be patient,” the man answered before hanging up. She grabbed the little bag and poured the rest of its contents in her hand. There were actually five diamond all together, not just one, and she was determined to make a fortune from them, one at a time!Being introverted, anytime she went to a party, she usually just watched other people from a corner and tonight was no different. There was a small gathering at the VIP lounge, about five men. She had been staring at them for a while. They seemed to be really important people and she was a short distance away from them when she noticed one of them was watching her. She didn’t get a good look at him but he kind of stood out amongst the other men. He was also in a dark suit and his dark hair shone in the blue disco light. She tried to not pay attention to his inauspicious gaze, but she kept turning to look at him until another guy, one just about his age, walked up to her. “Hey baby, looking good,” he slurred. “Thanks,” she simply said. She didn't know him and the fact that he was old enough to be her father didn't help him in his attempt to get her attention. “Can we go somewhere private and talk?” The guy asked and she scoffed. “No. Thanks,” she turned away from him and search
Christian's POV....After her friend called her away, I watched her walk away with a smile around my lips, fully intent to find out more about her and get that date.It was about time I tried again with a new woman. Sylvia's life had been one interesting rollercoaster ride and although she had rich friends like Jason, she always kept her problems to herself and tried to solve them on her own. Her mother was the only real family she had left, and with her terminal illness getting worse, she needed to find the money for the treatment. “So, you’re telling me some hot rich old dude asked you out and you said no? Isn't that every young woman's dream man?” Daniel, her colleague and friend at work said after she told her what happened at the party last night. “I didn’t say no. Jason called me away before I could even think of what to say to him.” “Who is this guy anyway? He tell you his name?” Daniel asked. “Yes,” she nodded, “Christian Ferraro, I think.” “Have you looked him up yet? If he was at Jason's Dad's party, he must be a big deal,” Daniel said. “I don't care about his money,” Sylvia said dismis
She was at Christian’s house the following day. A black SUV had come to pick her up. Christian's house was a manor; the type of house a King would own. There were many beautiful gardens, a water fountain and a golf course. There was surely more but because she had just arrived, she still had time to see the rest of it. “Sylvia,” Christian called as he entered and she got up immediately, flustered at his presence. “Thank you for coming,” he hugged her and she was thrown off by the heartwarming gesture. He carefully helped her to a seat and sat close to her. She could perceive his minty cologne and despite her disappointment at the whole situation, she still found him irresistible. “Is this really how it has to be?” Sylvia tried one last time to changed Christian's mind about starting off their relationship in such an unconventional manner. “Trust me, Love. This is the only way you and I could work,” he said, “Would you still like to do this?” Her mind recalled the purpose of he
