No one can take her!

“You must be hungry to be acting this way,” Gwen quipped, though she still felt something was off about her husband.

“I’m serious. Don’t take this as a joke. We are husband and wife now. I’ve fulfilled my duties but haven’t received my full rights,” Dominic continued, his words leaving Gwen silent.

“I’ll try to be a good wife, but when it comes to children, I’m not ready yet,” Gwen confessed.

Before Dominic could respond, the waiter arrived with their food. “Let’s eat first. We can talk about this later.”

Gwen agreed with her husband, and in front of them were several enticing dishes. They started with the young president’s favorite dish, eating heartily.

Delicious food seemed to soothe and unite them. They enjoyed their meal together until the very last dish. After their bellies were full, they headed back to the hotel.

“Remember, our issue isn’t resolved yet. I just postponed the discussion,” Dominic said as they exited the elevator.

“Okay, where should we talk? My room or yours?” Gwen asked, eager to settle their marital issues.

“Let’s go to my room.”

They went to Dominic’s room at the end of the corridor. With a firm hand, Dominic easily opened the door. Once inside, they quickly unloaded their shopping bags.

“So, what’s the plan? I still don’t want to get pregnant anytime soon,” Gwen said, standing her ground.

“It’s fine if you’re not ready for kids. But what about the other aspects of our marriage?” Dominic pressed further.

Gwen agreed to act like a wife and start fulfilling her duties, just as Dominic promised to fulfill all her rights. “We’ll start getting closer during our honeymoon tomorrow. Don’t be afraid of me,” he said.

“I’m not afraid of you. I’m just uncomfortable because you’re my boss at work,” Gwen explained, bravely expressing her feelings.

“Our status has changed now. If my position makes you uncomfortable, you can quit your job, so I’m no longer your boss,” Dominic offered.

Gwen pondered his offer. On one hand, she liked the idea of quitting, but continuing to work meant people would know who she was. “I want to keep working, so let me focus on my career first.”

“No problem. Pursue your career as long as it doesn’t interfere with your duties as my wife,” Dominic said, which Gwen acknowledged with a nod.

Everything for their honeymoon departure the next day was prepared, and Gwen received permission from her husband to return to her room. On her way back, the intelligent woman thought about what caused Dominic’s 180-degree change.

The man Gwen was thinking about was busy communicating with his subordinates about the guy who had been following her. Earlier, the man had confessed to liking Gwen and even threatened that if Dominic didn’t make her happy, he’d take her away at any time.

The man wasn’t a criminal as Dominic had told Gwen, but someone who secretly admired her and followed her everywhere. Unfortunately, this time his actions were caught by Dominic.

“Even if I don’t love Gwen, what’s mine will always be mine,” he muttered. “No one can take her.”

Dominic tried to clear his mind and calm himself by taking a shower. He often relieved stress by standing under the shower’s stream. Gwen, meanwhile, was also taking a shower in her room. The shopping trip had exhausted her, and she needed the cooling water.

After her shower, Gwen felt sleepy and fell asleep immediately. Similarly, Dominic fell asleep while reading a new book he had bought. The couple enjoyed a peaceful night after preparing for their honeymoon.

Time flew quickly. The sun had risen. Both their phones showed the same time: 8 a.m., but neither had woken up yet. They had to leave for their honeymoon in two hours.

Fortunately, one of Dominic’s grandfather’s men tirelessly called, knocked on, and even banged on the door of Dominic’s room. After knocking dozens of times, Dominic finally heard and opened the door.

“Why are you here?” Dominic asked, still half-asleep.

“Thank goodness you finally opened the door. Are you ready to leave for your trip with Miss Gwen?”

Dominic snapped to attention, suddenly shutting the door. “We just woke up but will get ready quickly. Don’t worry. Go on,” he said, closing the door, worried his grandfather’s man might notice Gwen wasn’t in the room.

Dominic hurried to the nightstand and grabbed his phone, dialing his wife’s number. He hoped Gwen was awake and would come to his room quickly. Unfortunately, his hope was dashed. Gwen woke up because of the loud ring of her phone.

“What’s up?” she asked groggily, her voice rough from sleep.

“Goodness, you just woke up? At this hour? We might be late for our flight!” Dominic scolded, intentionally speaking this way to hurry Gwen up.

“Sorry, I overslept. Don’t worry, I’ll get ready quickly. We won’t be late,” Gwen replied, panicking. She ended the call, got out of bed, and rushed to the bathroom to freshen up.

A smile spread across Dominic’s face. For some reason, he enjoyed Gwen’s response and teasing her. A good mood was a good start for their honeymoon fun.

Time was ticking. Since neither had come to the lobby, Mr. Charles went upstairs to find his grandchildren. He knocked on Dominic’s door once more.

“Hey, open the door! What are you doing in there?” he yelled, seemingly unembarrassed by the other guests. “Are you going on your honeymoon or not?”

Dominic panicked, knowing his grandfather was outside while Gwen hadn’t arrived yet. He was reluctant to open the door but didn’t want to embarrass himself in front of the other guests. Reluctantly, he opened the door.

“What time is it? You need to leave in an hour. You should be at the airport by now,” his grandfather scolded. “Where’s your wife? Is she ready? Tell her to come out and meet me.”

“Well, Grandpa, Gwen is currently...”
