"It's better to burn those things than to give them to her," Dominic replied.
"So, should we burn them or give them to your ex?" Gwen asked again.
"Burn them; they're part of my past," he said as he sat down and started working. Seeing no significant reaction from her husband, Gwen put the items back where they belonged and joined Dominic, handing him her completed work.
Dominic was pleased with his wife's neat work, which greatly helped him. He even joked that he didn't need a secretary anymore, but Gwen protested, not wanting to cause her former colleagues to lose their jobs.
They continued working together until lunchtime. Just like the day before, Maiden brought their lunch to the room. After lunch, Dominic and Gwen returned to work until it was time to "clock out."
"Let's have dinner out tonight," Dominic suggested as a reward for Gwen's hard work.

Dominic spotted someone from his past, Rachel, at the same place he was, but he had no intention of finding out why she was there. Instead, he picked up the bouquet of flowers he had prepared for his wife.“Why is he taking so long?” Gwen muttered as her husband hadn’t returned yet. But her frown quickly turned into a smile when she saw Dominic approaching with a large bouquet of flowers for her.“Sorry for making you wait. I was busy picking the most beautiful flowers for you,” Dominic teased, charming his wife. Gwen blushed as she accepted the bouquet, not forgetting to thank her loving husband. They both sat down again, waiting for their food to arrive. This time, Dominic had chosen an Italian menu for Gwen since she had once mentioned she’d never tried food from that part of the world.Luckily, Dominic had eaten Italian food before and knew what dishes his wife might enjoy. His heart warmed as Gwen seemed to love the meal he had picked. He could see how much she was enjoying each
"You recognized her face right away, huh?" Dominic remarked. "She was indeed there, but I didn’t meet her, nor do I care why she was there.""She was probably there for dinner with someone," Gwen added."Of course, but I don't care who she was with," Dominic said dismissively. "Next question, please."Gwen chuckled at her husband's quip. "I don’t have any other questions, I was just curious about that.""Good, then let's get some sleep. We’ve got work tomorrow, gotta make Mr. Charles even richer," Dominic joked, making Gwen burst into laughter."Which also means making you richer, since you're his grandson," Gwen teased, trying to stifle her giggles."But I’m nowhere near as wealthy as he is," Dominic replied, causing Gwen to laugh even more. That night, the two drifted off to sleep in a lighthearted mood, with their minds at ease. They slept so soundly that even the alarm couldn't wake them.Gwen was the first to open her eyes, startled by the noise coming from outside their room. Sh
“It’s nobody, just an unknown number,” Dominic replied as he slid his phone back into his pocket. “I’m heading out now. See you later, Mrs. Dominic.”Gwen forced a smile, but inside, she felt uneasy. She suspected that the person calling her husband might be Rachel. Even though the thought lingered, Gwen refused to dwell on it, shifting her focus to work instead. Today was going to be a particularly busy day for her.To save time and energy, she took the elevator up to her husband’s office, arriving within seconds. Once inside, she dusted the room before settling in to begin her tasks. At exactly nine in the morning, Gwen started working. Before long, she received a flood of emails from the office, forwarded by Dominic’s secretary. She read them one by one, studied them carefully, and got to work. Her eyes were glued to Dominic’s laptop, so much so that she didn’t even notice when M
Gwen felt uneasy after overhearing the conversation between Dominic and his grandfather. She felt guilty for not being able to help her husband, especially when they started discussing the representative from a company Dominic hated.“Is it Rachel?” Gwen wondered. She heard more voices from inside the bedroom as Dominic answered his grandfather's question. He clearly had no feelings for that person anymore.“I’ve buried those feelings alive. I just don’t want to deal with her or her family, that’s all,” Dominic said.“Alright, I’ll send someone else from our company instead,” Grandpa replied. “Now, it’s your job to come up with an excuse if she ever asks about you.”“Why would she ask about me? A company's representative doesn’t need the CEO's personal involvement,” Dominic added, feeling the conversation with his grandfathe
“Our business is done, so please leave my office,” Dominic ordered firmly, ignoring his grandfather’s presence.“Dom…”“Get out!!! NOW!!” Dominic shouted, his voice escalating. Rachel quickly left the room, followed by Mr. Charles. After kicking out his ex-girlfriend, Dominic collapsed into his chair. He looked frustrated, sad, and furious. He harshly rubbed his face with his right hand, pushing back his long hair that had fallen forward. Dominic’s mood was a mess; he couldn’t continue working, so he decided to step out for a bit.He distracted himself by heading to the company’s cafeteria. That morning, he ordered a black coffee without sugar. Sitting alone, he stared at his phone screen—more specifically, at a photo of his wife, a memory from their recent honeymoon.“She’s the one who will heal my wounds,” he thought.Unfortunately,
“What do you mean?” Dominic asked, frustrated. “Come on, Gwen, we’re married now, so it’s only natural that I want this.”“That’s true, but we agreed not to do it,” Gwen countered, trying to move away as her husband’s face drew closer to hers. “Please, Dominic, I’m not ready to be pregnant or have a child.”“Doing it once doesn’t mean you’ll get pregnant,” Dominic said. He continued to push for intimacy, but Gwen kept resisting, turning her head left and right to find a way to escape. However, Dominic was much stronger. His desire was at its peak; he wasn’t going to take no for an answer tonight.“Wait, we can’t do this by force,” Gwen pleaded, trying to buy time.Dominic grew impatient with her resistance. He didn’t want to hear any more refusals. His face moved even cl
"No, it’s not like that, Grandpa," Gwen said, panicking. "We act like a normal husband and wife, right?" She looked at her husband with hopeful eyes."That's right, Grandpa. Our relationship is very good, and it will get even better if we spend more time together," Dominic added. He hoped they could go on vacations more often to strengthen their bond."That's fine. I'll reward you both as long as all your work is completed. There's a lot of work we need to finish soon, and the company is opening a new branch, so we must work hard. I hope you understand that," Grandpa said."No problem, Grandpa. We'll make sure to complete all our tasks," Gwen replied. They then continued their breakfast, and afterward, the three of them parted ways to attend to their duties. Gwen quickly went up to her husband's office after saying goodbye to Dominic, who left for work. Meanwhile, Grandpa sat in the side garden
“Tomorrow night,” Gwen whispered.“Tomorrow night?” Dominic repeated his wife's words. “Say that again, I didn't hear it wrong, right? It’s tomorrow night, right?”“Who said tomorrow night? You misheard,” Gwen lied, trying to retract her words. But Dominic wasn't that easily fooled; he kept pressing her to confirm their plans for that evening.“Alright, darling, since you mentioned the day after tomorrow, make sure you're ready to pick up our child that night. Don’t even think about avoiding it,” Dominic said as he moved away from his wife and headed into the bathroom. Now Gwen was left alone, cursing herself. “I should have said next week instead of the day after tomorrow,” she muttered. The beautiful woman buried her face in a pillow, wishing she could take back her words, but it was too late.G
