Caraline immediately averted her eyes in any direction when Deric looked at her. Her heart felt like it was being sliced by a knife when she saw the man's condition. Deric's condition was really bad. He was in pain just by glancing at him. Diego and Wilson were truly horrible monsters. Both of them had the heart to do all this to Deric, who was a disabled man.

"Are you okay?" repeated Deric while trying to change his position to sitting. His gaze sharpened when he saw Diego behind Caraline. "Is something bothering you?"

Caraline remained silent for some time. She looked up, trying not to let the tears fall again. It was a painful feeling to see someone she loved suffer. There was a part of her heart that was cracking and breaking right now.
