Lilian looked at Chris with wide, innocent eyes, as if she truly had no ulterior motives.

Chris listened to her emotionlessly.

"If you'd like to have people by your side, you can call your family. I can help you contact the Pages."

Lilian's face fell at once.

Everyone knew that she wasn't really on good terms with the Pages because she was born out of wedlock. The Pages didn't really want to see her.

Chris's words were basically a slap in her face.

Lilian looked at him, upset. She said carefully, "We've been colleagues for so many years, Chris. You seem to be biased against me."

Chris was still expressionless. Indifferently, he said, "You're thinking too much, Ms. Page. I'm just following Mr. Larson's orders."
