Chapter 41 Imprisoned

Mrs. Bennett was listening to Jean and Layla's conversation in a corner nearby. She couldn't help but furrow her brows.

The Larsons had always been nothing but kind to Mrs. Bennett. Mrs. Larson treated her exceptionally well, too. Teak Villa had only been empty for so long because the Larsons wanted her to keep it and spend her days in it after retirement.

Mrs. Bennett knew that Coleen had never liked Joyce as her daughter-in-law. Her fondness for Jean slowly faded as she listened in on Jean and Layla's discussion on how to get the former pregnant.

Then, she walked back into the kitchen and called Coleen.

In the evening, Mrs. Bennett prepared dinner for Jean. Jean noticed that the dinner prepared was particularly sumptuous.

Just as she was about to ask the others to eat with her at the dining table, someone walked in from the entrance.

"Greetings, Mrs. Larson," Mrs. Bennett greeted.
