Chapter 92

Chad looked at the first light outside the window. Listening to Matilda lashing out over the phone, he said listlessly, "How'd I go against you? Aren't you being too ridiculous now?"

"You messed up my partnership. How dare you call me the ridiculous one? Chad Jennings, how dare you be so unreasonable?"

Matilda fumed as she yelled into the phone.

Chad was extremely sleepy and he said impatiently, "You're too innocent. Even without me, the partnership wouldn't go through either."

However, those words sounded like Chad was humiliating her on purpose. She shrieked, "Chad Jennings! I'm warning you. There better be no next time. Otherwise, I'd make you pay the price!"

Then, she hung up. Chad was so exasperated, that he could not be bothered anymore.

He coldly flung his phone onto the table and cursed under his breath, "If it wasn't for my sister being there too, you think I'd save you?"

Suddenly, Chad's phone rang again.

It was an unknown number. He did not want to answer the call.
